It was then that he was interrupted by a soft hand placed to his lips. Cai quickly put her palm over Inoyva's mouth. She realized it was a large blunder to let him speak first since both of them were already tardy and now he displayed disrespectful conduct to the instructor. If continued, there would probably be penalties to the overall behavior. "Our humblest apologies, Ma'am. We apologize for our tardiness." Cai said. "Well, whatever. Go to your seats but firstly, announce your name to the class, newcomer.." Strangely enough, before the lad could address those plentiful beings, Cai never left his side, holding back any nervousness. With shoulders held back and chest out, her whole appearance declared confidence. It was not something new to her or even something needed to be thought of intently. "Good morning. My name is Cai Setra." Is she also introducing herself for the sake that I don't get nervous? "Morning. I'm Inoyva Risse." Unlike Cai, Inoyva, who said his given n
In an abandoned town off the outskirts of a certain district. It appeared to be another village a distance away from the hustle and bustle of the city. However, no people living there were to be found, even when looked into intently. The reason for a lacking of people was perhaps a battle began unfolding onto that land. "Mage unit, open fire!" "The number of the soldiers isn't decreasing!" "They just keep on coming!" A rain of flames descends upon the area. A group numbering at almost twenty stands forth, killing aimlessly at the horde in their sights. Per usual, the Abyss' soldiers went forth first in their countless numbers to deal with enemies. The unit made of Knights intercepted this gathering of soldiers, fought back with their own methods and weapons. However, the unit's effort seems futile, with every approach, the soldiers advanced further and further into their foe's territory. "Hey… hey…!" "It's so loud." Unexpectedly, one of the subjugators ran short of breath and
'Maybe if I…' At first, to no avail did he identify her power, but upon awakening his Amadioha, an abundant of needle shape energies swirled in the air circling the Master. Sharp, hair-like energies that numbered to tens of thousands gathered around like a hurricane. A swarm of murderous aura aimed at Xiluva, now. Not surprising, Sykoh and Abyss were enemies destined to kill each other until the end of time. Instinctively, the Abyss pointed its sharp fangs at her with an enraged expression. It charged in headfirst like its deceased underling. After all, offense was the greatest defense. But, tiny cuts appeared on its' body. The Master of the Legion of Eight Trigrams, had launched her blinding quick, not to mention invisible attack again at the boss. However it would not be the same. Even though cuts appeared, there weren't deep enough to inflict considerable damage to kill or even slow down its movement. 'Its' skin is thick.' Xiluva addressed the monster which when in striking
I'm falling! Where is this, exactly!? In the far skies from hundreds of meters away into it, currently abruptly falling back to the earth with unthinkable speeds, Inoyva and the other individuals sharing the same experience, that being the students of Class 12-C cut through air like rain. Without the air posing no threat in terms of sight, he saw all around that their bodies drifted ceaselessly and limbs that weighed less like the arms almost flail like paper or plastic. Below him, the course they fell to was a concentration of trees, essentially a forest and in the middle of the concentration of trees, was barren land. Still, Inoyva could not forget that he was also part of that descent and required some method in order to stop falling or perform the strange thing Ms. Relka did before, the method to appear from one place to another by passing through something he could not identify with a glance. But what was cleared about was that, a tear, as if a part of reality was altered to re
D-rock training grounds. On barren land, Ms. Relka stepped in front of her class. With them landing safely before, she wanted them to begin the supposed test right off the bat. "You all survived… Celebrations will come later as this one hurdle in your way will be harder to overcome. Granted, you are still students in training, so it should not be impossible to achieve…" Even though, they were on a massive stretch of flatlands, tall trees would surround the empty space in a circular form. Barren lands and a forest, an anomaly lay in wait due to the surprising position of the environment, however, they could observe a large structure at the center of the barren lands, it resembled a large castle. 'Wait, are Abyss here? Is this some kind of prank? Right from the get-go, we are supposed to fight an entire horde…? If it so, then is this out in the country, or wildness? It doesn't feel so, though. I feel a lingering energy imbued in all things here, including the tree, too.' Inoyva's uni
"Amadioha." Pertains to advanced modification embedded onto a recognized individual's eyes. Such modification empowers said individual with an ability that surpasses of any known technology to date. Often touted as the eyes of the flame, Amadioha gifts one technique which is unique to a single Knight. To that one unique ability, no two Knights have ever received absolute identical powers, since the creation of the Legions. Through activating it, various marks will appear to unravel from the face, first originating from the eyes, then will take to a pattern that is unique to that individual. Four different of shades will glow from Amadioha and from these shades, one shade will display in their eyes and will glow. "Crimson red," which amplifies Ethereal energy in the body, manipulates the pupils to be slightly larger. "Whitish green," amplifies one's own sight of the surroundings, manipulates the pupil to drastically increase to a point of covering much of the whites. "Dark blu
FLAME ART: BATTLE RIDDEN! Meanwhile, the attack of the guards would reach the center of the field. Mixo was in seated position. She patiently gathered Ethereal energy. Steadily, her technique formed into spears. With their solid shapes as if actual spears, they emitted traces of energy as vapor. A shade of orange in appearance, the sharp and thin projectiles floated behind her. Mixo required tremendous concentration, but being behind Inoyva gave her that much needed requirement. Therefore the sharp tips of her spears looked up into the sky. Strangely enough, a visible mark was on Mixo and Inoyva. Mixo draw her arm close to the chest, then, quickly waved it towards the sky. Following that command, her creations followed in hot pursuit. The launched spears' endpoint would be not to reach the guards, but rather the castle itself. Glittering lights in the sky appeared again. It had almost seemed like a rain of spears was descend from the heavens. *** Suddenly, it was clear
D-rock training grounds. Cai threw her body into quick motion, weaving through the faux Abyss' boss attempts at her life and evaded swiftly. Belatedly, the faux Abyss utilized massive hairy tails, throwing them at foes and cause damage. However, Cai was not going to fall to the barrage of tails and instinctively returned to the line of battle. Previously, her aggressive manner of attacking had been stopped in its track, even though that was not yet a failure in her books. Offense was the greatest defense. Even if for now, she could not locate any weakness or potential slip in its defenses, she would wait for the opportunity to come. The eager girl dodged by a hair's breadth. Nevertheless, she was being pushed back from the prior position where a fist was thrown. Her sight seemed to increase for the better, which quickened the rate of movement of the eyeballs. Once again, going straight in with full force! Cai reached the point where her fists spoke, violently slamming a right
The vanguard of the Legion of Shadow proceeded forward exactly as other smaller Legions would, with only a difference of the indefinite actions that were superior in terms of coordination and the individual combat capabilities of their Knights. Additionally, the swiftness of their actions caused an apparent decline of the Abyss’ numbers within moments after they trailed through. After all, one of the strong Legions would have obviously encountered and fought Abyss of a difficult rank exactly like this one or maybe a horde much more fierce. “…” To that area, at the outskirts, he gazed far and wide while gliding through the air. Accompanying him from behind being other Knights in the same squadron, unlike the rest, they showed particular interest in locating Abyss and identifying their characteristics but would not intercept them. Catching an appearance of what they were tasked with, a large Abyss reeled in the distance. Its size and height, that being tall enough for surrounding
Miraculously, countless Knights grasped the proceeding space and fervently emerged from thin air above the female Knight. Certainly those could be reinforcements from other Legions that could have finally reached the battlefield to offer some much needed support. They came after the climax already reached peak and now just helped in cleaning up the scraps left. Scraps of the defeated horde when compared to the initial force when the first 5 Legions entered the fray still posed a threat if they could run hurriedly and unchecked. And also, the citizens who lived there obviously wanted to return to their former homes and lives.Following that, the female Knight’s lips opened.“Clean it up.”Immediately, all gathering forces diverged into different directions as if they cut through the air like bullets. At least one thing in common that they did was head over to the Abyss soldiers. The Knight’s eyes peered into the distance.{Master of the Legion of Shadow, S-rank: Isui Setra.}***After
With the head, the leader of the horde of Abyss, the boss defeated the proceeding underlings it reigned over would scatter in every direction. Abyss gathered into a single formation known as a horde but due to their animalistic traits, they sometimes strayed from said formation to essentially do whatever they desired. And not necessarily to execute their role of being soldiers or guards since Abyss could care less about what occurred to their brethren. If they found prey to fill their stomachs, everything else was a bother.Except for the boss, the remaining monsters were ruled over. With an iron fist and understandable power in hand, the boss acted as a beckon, a sort of antenna that coordinate all movements in the horde and initiated for their formation to consist of the outer layer and mid layer for the purpose of fighting and pillaging enemies and prey, but still leave enough room for it to not be in the firing line. In that sense of train of thought, it was a strategist feigni
The boss was the strongest in a horde and noticing the sheer number of Abyss that crawled through the streets and everywhere else, they would be commanded. And a slightly capable boss could not maintain control of all those numbers. That glinted at a possibility at least that this one sole humaniod monster could potentially be a C-rank Abyss. As such, letting it go could be detrimental to the counterattack.A repeat of past events, the Knight would disappear like before as if she turned invisible. What was not clear from that point was that she would not let it escape. Up until then, the boss felt like a lesser individual that grasped at straws but now, a feeling of being trapped like a plaything before receiving a fatal strike became its reality. Suddenly, the boss felt a painful sensation as if its limb was being crushed. It was not an attack, but a hold over its left arm. The Knight once more appeared from thin air to the left side.Obviously, her power was unmatched. She used
In terms of the multitude of manners to conduct a battle against foes, there truly exist an infinite number of methods to go about conflict. Polished skills... Adaptive capabilities... Sharpened weapons… Innate abilities. Abundant talent…However, all that was pale in comparison to the proceeding situation, where a sole individual came crashing from the sky and did away with all of them using minimal effort. She commanded strength... An unordinary strength… A simple strength that could make anything and anyone kneel…It was a miracle or so to say that she could come to that moment at where the Knights’ force previously suffered a blow that left a massive dent. It was to say that due to that the Masters, the elite unit failed their given task without much needed thought to it. Being ultimately the most capable in their Legions proved a staggering responsibility to be placed atop their shoulders. However to those individuals, said load was welcomed with wholeheartedness. But, a blund
The boss expected a difficult fight, but this was rather not interesting in the least. If the opponent already figured the gap in numbers between them, she might have turned tail in order to save her own life or even call for further assistance. A difference in the overall forces ended up being the deciding factor. The boss would smirk but then notice something aloof with the stationed soldiers on the ground. A passing gust of wind blew slightly. In its insignificance, a rising tension among the Abyss lowered, this would guarantee the victory. But then, one head out of the heads among the stationed soldiers seemed to fall off the body and land to the ground. The next soldier near also found its head proceeding to land on the ground like a ball and roll over. Blood immediately spilled out of the decapitated bodies and finally fell to the earth. Surprisingly, another group lost the command of their bodies and fell, partly due to the heads that landed to the ground first. As if
A loud bang was heard throughout the outskirts of the city. Following a flash of light with a shade of purple, tremors and air pressure generated by said sudden explosion was apparent all over. Even distant Knights from far away could probably see it without wielding Amadioha of a green shade. A massive sphere that could scale the tallest of buildings caught attention. Accompanied with the never ending gusts of the wind, other living creatures found themselves blown away as if they shared weightless characteristics of plastic or paper. Even for the citizens, who no less could achieve a subtle level in Destroyer Arts knew from that explosion that it was one of the techniques in a Destroyer Art, the size was too abrupt, only a Knight could have activated it in such short notice. And the traces of Ethereal energy lingering in the air could catch their attention without needed effort. Certainly, the cause of the explosion needed to be identified, that being the Knight, it was unth
The figure built up unthinkable speed and momentum as to deliver the strongest strike with minimal motion. The posture taken and the form gestured to coordinate with the fact that it was airborne, was perfect. A fist brimmed with unearthly strength caught one of the guard’s jaw in less than a second.A massive bang resounded throughout the entire area and caught attention from all over. Air pressure generated furtively gestured near the vicinity.Exactly like a seasoned boxer extending their arm for a right hook with explosive speed and devastating power, the figure achieved the same effects and managed to inflict damage towards the guard’s face. Following momentum, the guard stumbled even though it stood on all fours. Ultimately, it lost balance and would fall, but the buildings near halted its descent. For the monster, thankfully it was far enough to be prey of a strike, but the boss was still far ahead while being protected by other Abyss of the same kind. ***At the somewhat o
Thankfully, the elite unit composed of four Masters was unharmed at the blazing projectile’s wrath. Was it due to luck coupled with their efforts of maneuverability? Evidently, the projectile was not directly fired at them due to a fact that they were not the intended enemy. Looking to the projectile, a fireball with blue flames, it had high levels of Ethereal energy wrapped about in it, pointing to that a Sykoh, preferably a Knight fired but what another thing about it was the remnants of another type of energy. Another type of energy pitch-black in nature and brought a sense of coldness around despite infused to the concentration of arid creations.Perhaps the ally they desperately wanted to join, adjusted the course of the fireball so not to harm them, but inflict damage to the guards nonetheless? A definite answer could not be given, though. After all, amidst the immediate explosion and hurls of air pressure because of the fireball, they had lost sight of what produce and sh
