What the hell?! Can it reach up here…?

Inoyva’s sense of hearing caught something peculiar and almost akin to that of a rhino. Perhaps such a skill was just heightened thanks to the rushing sensation of impending death. From a high building, a sudden fast sound could be heard.

His eyes could not keep with it. Inoyva perceived small craters being formed around as if something heavy stepped on and then disappeared.

It’s something that’s really… fast?

After careful speculation, whatever attacked could not be seen. Invisibility was one alternative to look at, as it lay evidence of that. But the quickness of its strikes was alarmingly fast, faster than he had ever experienced.

When Inoyva’s eyes widened a bit, he immediately conjured that this thing was faster than the rate at which he could catch its movements. Proceeding to move with logical actions, Inoyva floated a distance high into the air. There was no foothold in the sky, so he would be secure, but…

Towards the skies! Flying unimpeded upon the few white clouds which fluttered, drifting at the winds of the boundless, the blades of a chopper cut through the air as the airborne metallic creation was directed towards a predetermined destination to where the sight of a massacre happened. It was noticeable, the chopper that is. Whether the chopper carried some kind of support from the individuals within it? That would not last in front of the massive gathering of Abyss. The chopper still could help to carry citizens away from the turbulent land run over by Abyss, but its size could only fit a handful of people in it. Perhaps some Knights decided to venture closer to aid helpless citizens by killing surrounding Abyss in the area? That was an alternative, however once again looking at the countless number of monsters that would have been futile resistance. All of those predictions were nullified. The individuals in the chopper were neither Knights nor individuals tasked with helping

Unfortunately, there was no time whatsoever to linger over what was given, as two proceeding Knights flew closer to the ground. The pair fixed their swords, swinging them to slash at its hind legs with quick succession. A monstrous scream spilled forth from its mouth in proceeding to yelp. The Knights’ prior to slashing the legs did so not by chance, since due to the fact of the muscles and tendons near the joint were thoroughly destroyed. A perfect use of ridding its mobility and dealing a final blow in the process! Being dealt a deadly blow, the Abyss found itself slowing down indefinitely. However, additional Knights neared closer. Another pair different from the previous, flew above and quickly gestured. Ethereal energy immediately gathered beneath their hands, then, light followed. Blazing fireballs shot out from their clutches to a single destination. The 10-meter class Abyss was with no armor, only thick skin all over the body. As such the technique shot at it exploded and

I was taken aback at how cruel in nature they looked in the picture books we were shown as children, of how they could slaughter each one of my closest friends and family. But I was more afraid of being treated like livestock. Bigger and stronger in nature, when compared to the average adults here, we are incoherently prey that has band together to display futile resistance. Regardless, the hunger to kill all of them, to rid them of their entire existence in this world is what drove me to be a Knight. Power which was given to us, to me, gave a rise to hope a countless amount of times. As the symbol of the “Great Protectors” of the nation and its people, I discovered profound pride in my own image. Still, I could not prepare myself for the hell I would have to endure in order to do so. If someone asked me if I regret choosing the path of a Knight, I would’ve answered with the notion of how I should’ve thought about my decision. However, even if I could go back in time and could have

A gathering of more than 20 people made way towards the same direction as them. Thankfully, others were near. Ms. Relka chose to act only as leader of her group, rather than joining up with another. After all, a concentration of people that were of a large size would be more difficult to manage. “That’s fine, let’s move past…” “Wait. There seems to be a skirmish and something…” Sweat quickly accumulated on Nyiko’s face. An expression of fear grasped her when immediately, she rushed forward to make way towards a large building nearest to them and started climbing a flight of stairs. “Nyiko?! What are…” Ms. Relka caught Nyiko’s back. Fellow students turned to her with shocked reactions. As of yet, Nyiko’s actions were questionable, however they ultimately ran in the maiden’s direction and followed. *** Into another abandoned building they went into, climbing flights of stairs until reaching near on what was the fourth floor. “Nyiko, what is it?” Ms. Relka approached closer. Experiencing a feeling of being entrapped in a moment that appeared unending, a young girl’s face molted with a tone of bright red from her cheeks thanks to sunlight touching the skin. To her immediate focus, a single shadow loomed to the ground, henceforth generated by a figure that stood still in the air, wind blew gently around. The little girl’s eyes gazed far and wide, to embrace a figure donning the shell-like armor of a shade of blue, with its monstrous horns that were displayed in confidence and terror. The quake of the earth beneath her feet followed unimpeded as if to break her out of a trance. Seconds after, another quake followed. However, in this very instance, it was not caused by a floating figure, rather another Abyss that could scale any tall building with ease. Another unearthly creation passed near the vicinity, making its way to them steadily. Each step taken was accompanied by a rumble and miniscule dust clouds that developed under its massive feet. Upon reaching the very top, silence grasped. Immediately, a sudden “roar” spilled forth from the bowels of the body. Undisputed might was carried with a roar that very well could be heard from kilometers away. Other Abyss caught wind of the monstrous cry. Unlike the monstrous creature, the little girl found it almost unbearable being near, for her ears were covered by hands to lessen the terror which followed. Nonetheless, she knew. Whatever stood in her line of sight was a “monster” that could not be fathomed. As in that moment, she understood that the blue horned figure, stood at the apex of all monsters. *** Within secure lines, the Knights, who aimed their blades previously, retracted in advancing further to assess damage done to their forces. For now, they met additional obstacles not commonly associated with Abyss. “If they’re aiming for our Knights near the ground, it is logical to fly over. We have the means to. So, firstly cutting down the boss should take priority.”

An apparent darkness covered Cai’s entire body. Suddenly being flooded by negative emotions of anger and regret, Cai’s ego was intertwined in a cold display of bloodlust and a sense of madness. As such, she did not exhibit a cheery demeanor, rather an aura filled to the brim with hostility. Later on after an abrupt change, the monstrous Cai proceeded to advance a step forward until reaching the corpse of a white hound. Whether it be displaying feelings of admiration or of great appreciation, death was the final step in all living creatures’ lives, there was simply nothing she could than live on and fight, however… Alka lied in a fixed position. After all, the final breathe of life was taken shortly after clashing with beasts of a demon-like nature. A gruesome death and was filled with wounds inflicted by sharp fangs were the final sensations which were felt, though that was a tad bit bearable than witnessing a friend fall into despair. A terrifying sight spread across the far ends of the land from one side to another side. Fires caused by differing causes such as car accidents, leftover appliances turned parts of the city into veils of flames, accompanied by sunshine which dyed the surroundings in a dark red, almost glinted at a possibility of hell. To coordinate a shield which could hamper the flow of battle, crescent ships diverged from each other a further distance away and stationed themselves atop skyscrapers and other high vantage points in anticipation of shooting down bypassing Abyss. *** As expected, a stomping of the ground signaled at it. Appearing from a nearby block, a 9-meter class monster crashed way across the street. Rather than slowly stomping in approach, a quick sprint was taken in close proximity after catching potential prey from a distance away. However everything was premeditated. Capable Knights proficient in utilizing the ability of the R’hlaza’s levitation and their speed, moved qui

Additionally, the swiftness of their actions caused an apparent decline of the Abyss’ numbers within moments after they trailed through. After all, one of the strong Legions would have obviously encountered and fought Abyss of a difficult rank exactly like this one or maybe a horde much more fierce. “…” To that area, at the outskirts, he gazed far and wide while gliding through the air. Accompanying him from behind being other Knights in the same squadron, unlike the rest, they showed particular interest in locating Abyss and identifying their characteristics but would not intercept them. Certainly those could be reinforcements from other Legions that could have finally reached the battlefield to offer some much needed support. They came after the climax already reached peak and now just helped in cleaning up the scraps left. Scraps of the defeated horde when compared to the initial force when the first 5 Legions entered the fray still posed a threat if they could run hurriedly and unchecked. And also, the citizens who lived there obviously wanted to return to their former homes and lives.Following that, the female Knight’s lips opened.“Clean it up.”Immediately, all gathering forces diverged into different directions as if they cut through the air like bullets. At least one thing in common that they did was head over to the Abyss soldiers. The Knight’s eyes peered into the distance.{Master of the Legion of Shadow, S-rank: Isui Setra.}***After

Abyss gathered into a single formation known as a horde but due to their animalistic traits, they sometimes strayed from said formation to essentially do whatever they desired. And not necessarily to execute their role of being soldiers or guards since Abyss could care less about what occurred to their brethren. If they found prey to fill their stomachs, everything else was a bother.Except for the boss, the remaining monsters were ruled over. With an iron fist and understandable power in hand, the boss acted as a beckon, a sort of antenna that coordinate all movements in the horde and initiated for their formation to consist of the outer layer and mid layer for the purpose of fighting and pillaging enemies and prey, but still leave enough room for it to not be in the firing line. In that sense of train of thought, it was a strategist feigni

  • Chapter 70 - The Strongest 4

The boss was the strongest in a horde and noticing the sheer number of Abyss that crawled through the streets and everywhere else, they would be commanded. And a slightly capable boss could not maintain control of all those numbers. That glinted at a possibility at least that this one sole humaniod monster could potentially be a C-rank Abyss. As such, letting it go could be detrimental to the counterattack.A repeat of past events, the Knight would disappear like before as if she turned invisible. What was not clear from that point was that she would not let it escape. Up until then, the boss felt like a lesser individual that grasped at straws but now, a feeling of being trapped like a plaything before receiving a fatal strike became its reality. Suddenly, the boss felt a painful sensation as if its limb was being crushed. It was not an attack, but a hold over its left arm. The Knight once more appeared from thin air to the left side.Obviously, her power was unmatched. She used

She commanded strength... An unordinary strength… A simple strength that could make anything and anyone kneel…It was a miracle or so to say that she could come to that moment at where the Knights’ force previously suffered a blow that left a massive dent. It was to say that due to that the Masters, the elite unit failed their given task without much needed thought to it. The boss expected a difficult fight, but this was rather not interesting in the least. If the opponent already figured the gap in numbers between them, she might have turned tail in order to save her own life or even call for further assistance. A difference in the overall forces ended up being the deciding factor. The boss would smirk but then notice something aloof with the stationed soldiers on the ground. A passing gust of wind blew slightly. In its insignificance, a rising tension among the Abyss lowered, this would guarantee the victory. But then, one head out of the heads among the stationed soldiers seemed to fall off the body and land to the ground. The next soldier near also found its head proceeding to land on the ground like a ball and roll over. Blood immediately spilled out of the decapitated bodies and finally fell to the earth. Surprisingly, another group lost the command of their bodies and fell, partly due to the heads that landed to the ground first. As if

A loud bang was heard throughout the outskirts of the city. Following a flash of light with a shade of purple, tremors and air pressure generated by said sudden explosion was apparent all over. Even distant Knights from far away could probably see it without wielding Amadioha of a green shade. A massive sphere that could scale the tallest of buildings caught attention. Accompanied with the never ending gusts of the wind, other living creatures found themselves blown away as if they shared weightless characteristics of plastic or paper. Even for the citizens, who no less could achieve a subtle level in Destroyer Arts knew from that explosion that it was one of the techniques in a Destroyer Art, the size was too abrupt, only a Knight could have activated it in such short notice. And the traces of Ethereal energy lingering in the air could catch their attention without needed effort. Following momentum, the guard stumbled even though it stood on all fours. Ultimately, it lost balance and would fall, but the buildings near halted its descent. For the monster, thankfully it was far enough to be prey of a strike, but the boss was still far ahead while being protected by other Abyss of the same kind. ***At the somewhat o

Thankfully, the elite unit composed of four Masters was unharmed at the blazing projectile’s wrath. Was it due to luck coupled with their efforts of maneuverability? Evidently, the projectile was not directly fired at them due to a fact that they were not the intended enemy. Looking to the projectile, a fireball with blue flames, it had high levels of Ethereal energy wrapped about in it, pointing to that a Sykoh, preferably a Knight fired but what another thing about it was the remnants of another type of energy. Another type of energy pitch-black in nature and brought a sense of coldness around despite infused to the concentration of arid creations.Perhaps the ally they desperately wanted to join, adjusted the course of the fireball so not to harm them, but inflict damage to the guards nonetheless? A definite answer could not be given, though. After all, amidst the immediate explosion and hurls of air pressure because of the fireball, they had lost sight of what produce and sh
