“You know, though you call yourself a capable person, you got knocked out from the headmaster’s single punch.”
Inoyva, less unresponsive in already knowing what his reality was, became the recipient of Cai’s constant ranting. In part, she was a close friend that obviously carried a certain degree of concern. He laid witness to peeling the skin off the red apple, within arm’s reach.
“I know already.” Shrugging it off as a sense of responsibility he already knew off, but was at a stage of lessening the burden of her seething anger, Inoyva’s voice rang with a happy tone.
“If only you didn’t laugh, that would have been a big help. What exactly was that made it so funny?” Inoyva could feel the stinging sensation of being pricked by the edge of the knife. She made an outward expression of seemingly elongated eyes that peered deep within his soul.
After some thought, he was quite sure of that she would be in a less joyous mood than before, ‘I saw this coming a mile away.’
The good aspect about my lengthy stay would be at that I could be admitted into the infirmary for a long time. However I could not simply ignore the lessons we were required to learn. Cai, already having released the various texts and books to the side of the bed, moaned.
“Well, you know how they same it is, “the serious the situation, the harder it is to not actually laugh.”” Inoyva was lying down on the bed, staring up at the ceiling with that nonchalant face.
“Was there such a long saying? Or are you just making it up along the way?” Although she would not be informed of a saying particularly catching, Cai squinted her eyes at Inoyva with traces of suspicion.
As time passed by quickly, she finally peeled it off. The remnants that made up the inside of the apple were cut up into bite-sized pieces. “So, how are the lessons?” Inoyva asked, lifting his self up from that bed when drawing near those enticing pieces.
Cai raised her hand accordingly with a piece of the apple and made way towards his mouth. She replied, “I can’t find anything too negative to say about it. The training exercises are harsh and extreme, as any elite academy would have it. And the bounties that come after are a reward for working hard on that day.”
Inoyva was feeling the pretentious, yet caring necessity of knowing if she was doing well away from him. Without any lingering regrets, he knew of that it would an untimely task at achieving the desired results of the academy.
“That’s good to hear. However it seems like you brought guests with you…”
Inoyva faintly said to Cai, who at the side found the contradicting nature of that statement. Where there people outside of the room waiting to enter inside for the sake of meeting him?
“Since there’s only one injured person here, that being you, I can strongly think of the nurse being that person.”
Well, maybe a nurse. But from that strange presence that I recalled from my past memories, it can only be you…
As Inoyva recalled those unfolding things referred to as memories, an emergence was made.
As this was a resting area of sorts, no one could attack him within the sliver of the daylight. As such, it could not be anyone or any people that harbored ill-intent, coming his way even when a guard was let down. A calm observation then was issued.
“Ouch!”
Inoyva yelped.
Suddenly, a sharp pain sent impulses throughout his body. A pain generated by someone squeezing the skin from his body tightly. Someone audaciously just pinched at him.
Looking to the other side of the bed, a cheery demeanor encircled this person as she smiled at him. It was in that moment his expression turned from utter surprise turned to bitter annoyance.
“Hey!”
{Mixo Risse.}
That small girl, released a somewhat giggle at the pair.
“You left yourself unguarded. The chance to pounce was obviously clear for the taking. However I’m glad though since that tall body of yours is still wonderful and irresistible, in terms of pinch-bility at that.”
Cai halted at any attempt to subjugate that maiden with a flurry of questions, looking to the girl with a short stature. Her eyes widened even more.
Tsk! Out of all the elite academies, you chose this one?!
Inoyva’s face frowned and become furious at the same time. Apparently, the simp-like mood that enshrouded him before steadily disappeared.
He gave an answer, “And, you’re still short as ever, Mixo. If you could gain ten centimeters, key word: could, I would perhaps consider letting you pinch me every time we meet.”
The now annoyed lad shifted gaze onto her. That gaze held many meanings to it, the most apparent being annoyance. Energy-conserved, Inoyva u-turned to his out-blown personality! To their side, Cai looked puzzled but said no words, signaled in a different way.
“Is that an attack, dear cousin?!”
Indeed, their reactions to each other glinted at that, the young woman wearing a black cap on top of her head, a “dear” family member. However short in stature, her cheeky demeanor gave off an intense presence!
Cousin…? It was not a headache-inducing task to notice that word which now floated about in her mind. Cai could gathered up an explanation of sorts with certainty.
“You were here? Why do you wander all the time? Do you want to get lost intentionally? Anyone would think that you’re a middle schooler.” Strangely enough, their conversation is further interrupted with an introduction of another individual. Inoyva was visibly annoyed at it, but his energy-conserved nature came out as the lad held back a sigh.
To the other side, Cai appeared with widened eyes and lifted brows. Even without saying anything, he knew perhaps introducing her to the short girl could not be avoided. Gesturing a hand to Cai.
“Cai, let me introduce you to Mixo. Due to unfortunate circumstances, she’s my cousin.”
“Hey!” She released a single moan.
“…And, Mixo, this is… well, you probably know her. This is Cai, she’s an old friend of mine.” He made a verbal declaration, threading the line of exactly what kind of relationship he shared with the boundless beauty.
‘Old friend? Are you a pensioner?’ Mixo thought to herself.
Inoyva gestured at Mixo to his side, after the introductions of the two, one still remained.
“Hello.”
Cai, casually waved back at both girls with an welcoming expression.
“Hi.”
“Hey.”
“So, you are related to this tall glass of water?”
“Yep!”
The conversation took another turn, with the limelight being pointed at him, Cai, nonchalantly pointed. Not to his surprise, Inoyva was one of the tallest people she knew and at times of gatherings his height would be spark at opportunities for ridicule.
“…And, for the latest of introductions, this is my best friend, Nyiko. She might look like she’s intimidated by your presence, and somewhat of a geek, but her personality is the best!”
Tall!
Unlike Mixo, Nyiko boasted a height equivalent to one hundred and eighty centimeters. That tall girl wore glasses that complimented at her beautiful appearance with a mole slightly lower to her bottom lip.
“Why am I being painted as an anti-social person here?” Nyiko groaned with a distasteful recognition. For people she had only just had met, her utter existence was painted as being weird.
“Anyway, so how are you holding, the academy’s “trash”?”
Mixo nudged a response from Inoyva. In that same instance, the word trash spilled forth from her mouth, they all knew of the matter. Well it was not like anyone would not know. A new candidate having berated the headmaster got punched in the gut and ended up in emergency care, that was a story for the ages.
“As you can see, I am still alive.”
Inoyva could not find a disheartening response to direct towards Mixo.
“Even so, you should have been careful about your actions. Now, Cai would have toppled the place just for you stupid ass.” Her fingers twirled at the air, pointing a memorable picture from what she would call toppled.
What? Did another matter occur after what I did? Because of me…?
At the moment, Mixo and Nyiko, who were less of participating members made a quick glance towards the other maiden there. Cai’s cheeks reddened slightly.
An absolute seriousness was once again worn across Inoyva’s expression.
“I wouldn’t say exactly topple the academy. Just that one headmaster would suffice. Since the legal process of a lodged complaint takes time, well with my backing it won’t, I think drastic measures need to be taken.”
Cai spoke her guts out. To what he could think of, she challenged the headmaster with a formal complaint towards his conduct. However Inoyva shuddered slightly at the moment she brought up her knuckles.
Clearly, she wanted to beat him up for just him.
However in that situation, Inoyva could only find a response through patting Cai on the head with a certain glimmer.
I was eternally grateful that she exhibited such profound intentions towards the headmaster. ‘Yes! Crush with all that you have!’ Inoyva released a disdainful smile towards Cai who remained under the palm of his hand. Inoya felt his hands embedded at her soft hair. She found herself seemingly silent at that sort of embrace. Copping her head, Inoyva turned suit, towards the other two maidens with the infirmary. ‘Let’s see…’ Inoyva’s eyes would narrow down, scanning the eager cousin. Despite the fact that she had a short stature, I can vaguely feel it. She has the same composite body as Cai, well not as gifted but is incomparably stronger to most women of her age. Perhaps after some time, she could be evaluated to be a Warrior-class Knight, give or take. ‘That’s actually perfect for me, since one other main aspect I chose to remain here.’ The collective arrangement of security within the elite academy is by far ahead of its time. For those reasons, since the dorms have both genders
Irisdescent. Student dorms, Class 12-C. 04:00 AM. The seasons of spring and summer prompted the sun to arrive much more early than in the cooler seasons of the year. With an appearance of the nearing star, days are prolonged noticeably and mornings filled with darkness are shortened; a female individual walked. Before a usual awaking hour the time when most people would open their eyes, when the morning dew is still white before being melted by the sun’s sunshine, Ms. Relka made way into the dormitory building like a thief in the night. Unlike a cunning thief keeping quiet before obtaining desired treasure, she nonchalantly waltzed in, with a box-like device in hand. Not wasting any time, she advanced from the first floor to the flight stairs and before reaching the first rooms to the floor above, a thing wrapped about her body and appeared to change. Ms. Relka, split her Ethereal energy into 19 clones of herself. Said clones did not share any conversation, only beginning to w
Cai continued, directing an aiming gaze towards the front of the class. “However, through that method, instead on focusing on increasing Ethereal energy, the individual’s proficiency in using their Destroyer Art will increase.” A certain glimmer made the instructor’s face brighten up, “Yes, that is correct. As such, as a Knight, how do you increase the proficiency of your respective Destroyer Arts? By training more! Through repetitive actions of diligence and hard work, a Knight’s destructive power will increase. That is it for the basic concept behind it.” From her lengthy sigh carrying certain emotions, was the conclusion or so it seemed from the lesson. In regards to the fact of the basic concept of Ethereal energy, it was a topic well-known to ordinary people that sparingly used Ethereal energy, even while not be entirely well-versed in the minor details. Drawing a curtain to a section of a lesson, they would have the passage of time pass by quickly. “…” The elderly instruct
Inoyva read through the contents Cai had come with. ‘The composition of Ethereal energy and its uses? Why would they be teaching something as basic as this?’ Inoyva, with that demeaning face seemed to scroll with a swift glance. He partly knew the majority of the contents regarding Ethereal energy. By chance, am I dealing with idiots here? He never plucked out a certain aspect regarding the entirety of that topic, trailing each page, ‘This seems more like what kids would need to learn... But wait, everything done here has reason. To this reputable academy, that is.’ I think I can see the reason why. For anything that requires precise and hard practice, a basic level of the fundamental basis would be the most optimal path to mastering it. For all fundamental movements that were attributed to a Knight, most are derived from Ethereal energy. In that sense, to thoroughly nail each sliver of information coming along way was a headache-inducing task, like a burdening matter. As such, l
A ripened fist slammed downwards towards the bruised lad. ‘Where does the concept of magic even lie in that attack?! It’s just a ordinary punch!’ “Magic attack! Magic attack! Magic attack! Magic attack! Magic attack!” Inoyva unleashed a series of 7 punches to the lying lad’s face. ‘Why did you shout it five times when he actually hit me seven times?! This bastard!’ He was barking mad from the sheer realization of the projected power of those fists and more so angered of how lacking Inoyva was when counting them down. “Why are you even doing this?” He vehemently was riddled with various forms of injuries towards his face that painted a ghastly picture. As such, he was with the thirst of knowing what he chose this kind of method in attacking them. Inoyva was willing to answer, still a short wave away from landing another blow, “Well, you know from those heroes each time they activate their special move, they say the name of it. So, this is my ultimate move, too.” He was encompasse
I think what Cai said about Ms. Relka having a lengthy presence was true, though from the initial start I could not detect it while she was steadily approaching me. Inoyva made the current situation clear, sneaking constant glances towards what appearance made her form. The situation was dire, though that in part could be something he dodged with a trick of the hand. "I'm not sure whether I should be terrified or impressed. Yes, beating up fellow students is not a punishable offense, though taking such splendor whilst doing so, is a bit…" Ms. Relka was well aware of Inoyva stealing glances towards her. It was understandable. She had caught him in an act most people would perceive gruesome and horror. "Thank you for your gentlemanly answer." He answered. A courteous answer riddled with appreciated directed towards the instructor. Inoyva discretely humbled his self. For all he knew, she could not stop him with the varying set of rules, but as strength ruled here, there was another po
Hiding behind the bushes, Inoyva watched at the near distance, as once the circle of lads would walk away from their victim. Something that was unordinary to see, well pertaining to that the strongest would rain dominance over those with weak skills as opposed to them, the tables had changed for the unfortunate part. That's weird, I wouldn't think that finding a perfect chance like this would actually appear, though the execution of said plan might not go the way that I want it to. At the side, Inoyva's clone when noticing the original's presence, would dissipate into nothingness, literally as if nothing had filled that space up. And it was not unusual to think that the other 6 from other various areas had also shifted into utter nothingness. Inoyva advanced forward. He could tell from the already gone bullies that this was the perfect for his pitch. To that, he witnessed a lad, with red and black hair assumed a standing position prior to being knocked down. Red hair…? It feels st
I just go a new pawn… Well, that is what I want him to think but it is not actually that kind of relationship I am striving for. I can't decide which paths he takes, the decisions having been determined in the near and far future, but for now, I could not lay witness to this frolicking bud waiting to bloom. "Firstly, what is your name? First and last name." Leaving aside the detail regarding the mysterious origins of Inoyva, the red and black haired lad, felt his voice reach his ears. Since he already weighed in the pros and cons of the exchange, the results laying bare, there was no use of any resistance. "That exchange was a one-sided result, huh? I am Ntsako Maluleka." {Ntsako Maluleka.} Of course, he answered in kind, patting yet again the accumulated dust after his knees touch the ground after Inoyva's display of overwhelming innate power. He decorated a once a weakened gaze, staring clearly at Inoyva. "So, should I be calling you, like, master from now on?" "Cringe. Inoyva
The vanguard of the Legion of Shadow proceeded forward exactly as other smaller Legions would, with only a difference of the indefinite actions that were superior in terms of coordination and the individual combat capabilities of their Knights. Additionally, the swiftness of their actions caused an apparent decline of the Abyss’ numbers within moments after they trailed through. After all, one of the strong Legions would have obviously encountered and fought Abyss of a difficult rank exactly like this one or maybe a horde much more fierce. “…” To that area, at the outskirts, he gazed far and wide while gliding through the air. Accompanying him from behind being other Knights in the same squadron, unlike the rest, they showed particular interest in locating Abyss and identifying their characteristics but would not intercept them. Catching an appearance of what they were tasked with, a large Abyss reeled in the distance. Its size and height, that being tall enough for surrounding
Miraculously, countless Knights grasped the proceeding space and fervently emerged from thin air above the female Knight. Certainly those could be reinforcements from other Legions that could have finally reached the battlefield to offer some much needed support. They came after the climax already reached peak and now just helped in cleaning up the scraps left. Scraps of the defeated horde when compared to the initial force when the first 5 Legions entered the fray still posed a threat if they could run hurriedly and unchecked. And also, the citizens who lived there obviously wanted to return to their former homes and lives.Following that, the female Knight’s lips opened.“Clean it up.”Immediately, all gathering forces diverged into different directions as if they cut through the air like bullets. At least one thing in common that they did was head over to the Abyss soldiers. The Knight’s eyes peered into the distance.{Master of the Legion of Shadow, S-rank: Isui Setra.}***After
With the head, the leader of the horde of Abyss, the boss defeated the proceeding underlings it reigned over would scatter in every direction. Abyss gathered into a single formation known as a horde but due to their animalistic traits, they sometimes strayed from said formation to essentially do whatever they desired. And not necessarily to execute their role of being soldiers or guards since Abyss could care less about what occurred to their brethren. If they found prey to fill their stomachs, everything else was a bother.Except for the boss, the remaining monsters were ruled over. With an iron fist and understandable power in hand, the boss acted as a beckon, a sort of antenna that coordinate all movements in the horde and initiated for their formation to consist of the outer layer and mid layer for the purpose of fighting and pillaging enemies and prey, but still leave enough room for it to not be in the firing line. In that sense of train of thought, it was a strategist feigni
The boss was the strongest in a horde and noticing the sheer number of Abyss that crawled through the streets and everywhere else, they would be commanded. And a slightly capable boss could not maintain control of all those numbers. That glinted at a possibility at least that this one sole humaniod monster could potentially be a C-rank Abyss. As such, letting it go could be detrimental to the counterattack.A repeat of past events, the Knight would disappear like before as if she turned invisible. What was not clear from that point was that she would not let it escape. Up until then, the boss felt like a lesser individual that grasped at straws but now, a feeling of being trapped like a plaything before receiving a fatal strike became its reality. Suddenly, the boss felt a painful sensation as if its limb was being crushed. It was not an attack, but a hold over its left arm. The Knight once more appeared from thin air to the left side.Obviously, her power was unmatched. She used
In terms of the multitude of manners to conduct a battle against foes, there truly exist an infinite number of methods to go about conflict. Polished skills... Adaptive capabilities... Sharpened weapons… Innate abilities. Abundant talent…However, all that was pale in comparison to the proceeding situation, where a sole individual came crashing from the sky and did away with all of them using minimal effort. She commanded strength... An unordinary strength… A simple strength that could make anything and anyone kneel…It was a miracle or so to say that she could come to that moment at where the Knights’ force previously suffered a blow that left a massive dent. It was to say that due to that the Masters, the elite unit failed their given task without much needed thought to it. Being ultimately the most capable in their Legions proved a staggering responsibility to be placed atop their shoulders. However to those individuals, said load was welcomed with wholeheartedness. But, a blund
The boss expected a difficult fight, but this was rather not interesting in the least. If the opponent already figured the gap in numbers between them, she might have turned tail in order to save her own life or even call for further assistance. A difference in the overall forces ended up being the deciding factor. The boss would smirk but then notice something aloof with the stationed soldiers on the ground. A passing gust of wind blew slightly. In its insignificance, a rising tension among the Abyss lowered, this would guarantee the victory. But then, one head out of the heads among the stationed soldiers seemed to fall off the body and land to the ground. The next soldier near also found its head proceeding to land on the ground like a ball and roll over. Blood immediately spilled out of the decapitated bodies and finally fell to the earth. Surprisingly, another group lost the command of their bodies and fell, partly due to the heads that landed to the ground first. As if
A loud bang was heard throughout the outskirts of the city. Following a flash of light with a shade of purple, tremors and air pressure generated by said sudden explosion was apparent all over. Even distant Knights from far away could probably see it without wielding Amadioha of a green shade. A massive sphere that could scale the tallest of buildings caught attention. Accompanied with the never ending gusts of the wind, other living creatures found themselves blown away as if they shared weightless characteristics of plastic or paper. Even for the citizens, who no less could achieve a subtle level in Destroyer Arts knew from that explosion that it was one of the techniques in a Destroyer Art, the size was too abrupt, only a Knight could have activated it in such short notice. And the traces of Ethereal energy lingering in the air could catch their attention without needed effort. Certainly, the cause of the explosion needed to be identified, that being the Knight, it was unth
The figure built up unthinkable speed and momentum as to deliver the strongest strike with minimal motion. The posture taken and the form gestured to coordinate with the fact that it was airborne, was perfect. A fist brimmed with unearthly strength caught one of the guard’s jaw in less than a second.A massive bang resounded throughout the entire area and caught attention from all over. Air pressure generated furtively gestured near the vicinity.Exactly like a seasoned boxer extending their arm for a right hook with explosive speed and devastating power, the figure achieved the same effects and managed to inflict damage towards the guard’s face. Following momentum, the guard stumbled even though it stood on all fours. Ultimately, it lost balance and would fall, but the buildings near halted its descent. For the monster, thankfully it was far enough to be prey of a strike, but the boss was still far ahead while being protected by other Abyss of the same kind. ***At the somewhat o
Thankfully, the elite unit composed of four Masters was unharmed at the blazing projectile’s wrath. Was it due to luck coupled with their efforts of maneuverability? Evidently, the projectile was not directly fired at them due to a fact that they were not the intended enemy. Looking to the projectile, a fireball with blue flames, it had high levels of Ethereal energy wrapped about in it, pointing to that a Sykoh, preferably a Knight fired but what another thing about it was the remnants of another type of energy. Another type of energy pitch-black in nature and brought a sense of coldness around despite infused to the concentration of arid creations.Perhaps the ally they desperately wanted to join, adjusted the course of the fireball so not to harm them, but inflict damage to the guards nonetheless? A definite answer could not be given, though. After all, amidst the immediate explosion and hurls of air pressure because of the fireball, they had lost sight of what produce and sh
