So the drinking card game continues.

Now the players have to go in another round of drinking and drawing cards. Unlike when they started this game, now tension was felt more in the atmosphere, as they go around with their bleeding faces, and with their heart that's pounding even louder than the noises around them.

At first, the card they drew out was smooth.

There's nothing deadly nor crazy surprises or consequences.

It was somehow a relief if only they have not felt dizzy.

They were now starting to feel the effect of alcohol on their bodies.

"How could you still look fine?" Lizie asked Talyn.

"tsk...I wish I weren't human," she commented.

Of course, Talyn's physiology was different from theirs. She's ethereal. She's a watcher. Alcohol is like water to her. No effect. But this Vilgroi's poisonous music had got through in her, that's it's affecting her strength!

How she wishes this game won't take long or else, she doesn't know if she'll still can handle this! The fear that t

"What?! You f** Vilgroi!" Talyn continued to scream, provoking them. Meanwhile, Jimmie Vaughn amusingly watches her in the monitor base area. His forehead creased as his lips slid upward baring a menacing smile. He's amused as to how the watcher was still standing strong despite that she was affected by the melody he played last night. Jimmie whispered an incomprehesible language on his palm, and a force comes out of it, trailing, moving as if it knows where it should be going. "Now, watcher...let me see how far you can go..." Jimmie whispered. "I reserve the last note of the melody especially for you," And Jimmie ordered the game operators to release not boundless soldiers this time, but the Throx! The Throx is what they call the angel of death. Recently, with the help of the inteliigent boundless, Jimmie had created an alien monster that has a combined physiologies both of their monster aliens and of the boundless. The Throx are skeletal, vaguely humanoid beings with several

Jimmie couldn't be more delighted as he watches Carsen struggling against his created boundless monster. He never expected he'll be this entertained. He ordered the game operators to torture Carsen more. MeanwhileCarsen spins his sword. The Mithril now changes in form. The sword becomes a spear. "Time to hunt the predator!" he muttered. Now, it's dawning on him what this creature is. He come to observe its physiology while he had a close combat a while ago. The spearhead slid off the Throx's chest, cutting through the surcoat and leaving a long, bright scratch on the steel below. Metal screamed against metal. A swift push from the Throx on Carsen's belly had little impact. He tried to dart him off but missed. Above its huge pointed hands, the long spear pierced the air. It flittered in and out like a serpent's tongue, feinting low and landing high, jabbing at the crotch, the hard body, and the eyes.Good one! Carsen whispered to himself. Orin came rushing to the base camp's infirmary. His steps were certain and urgent. Talyn is sick. The players have already woke up safe and sober from the drinking game but it's been days and Talyn was still sleeping. She's lying in the base camp's infirmary with apparatus attached to her body. There are still signs of life but what's odd is, she's still not waking up. Also, they have noticed something creeping on her skin, there's like a black patch on her neck that grows larger. "How is she?" he asked one of the medical team assigned. "She's still not waking up, and until now we can't figure out what's this," the medical team informed Orin. He looked at her sister that's still unconscious. Orin can't help but pity her. Talyn's face was pale, her lips were cracking dry. It's clear that she's not in good shape. If only they were in their realm, in their world, in Ethereal lands, situations like this won't be a problem. But we're here in this fallen world, in this world that's to

  • Away From Eden   Dance Of The Raven 2

" Dance Of The Raven is a song that induces fear. This is deadly yet this isn't yet the Vilgroi's flute's deadliest music. The curse, the melody has its sting because the instrument used to play it was cursed," Carsen explained, breaking the silence in the atmosphere. "Corruption inducement, that's what he did to Talyn," All eyes in the room were directed at him. This is the first time they heard such a thing. The Dance of the Raven song has the ability to corrupt others like a human can be corrupted into doing anything as what the Vilgroi desires. Although it does not exert influence over the victim, it does keep them from understanding why they can't resist the melody's influence. As a result, they become considerably more malleable. In order to corrupt someone, the Vilgroi only needs to be close by and in contact with them through a melody. On occasion, this closeness or contact is required to extend the effect, and that's what Vilgroi does when he added another force on Talyn

  • Away From Eden   Opposite Of Perfection

He cannot undo the corruption for he does not possess such skill within though he is the one implanted it. This is something that the High Councils have taken from him, and cannot even fix. That's why perhaps they have rested their only hope regarding this matter, on the coming to existence of the child born of a song. If restoring the flute's balance couldn't be the way out, then at least destroying it, and killing its musician is the last option --and this is where the Prime Emanator comes in. This is what Carsen Adams has been prepared for, yet as days pass by, as the circumstances become even crazier, now all the realms seemed to have lost hope. Yeah, even the watchers have given up wanting to be home. "It's impossible to convince the child born of a song," Orin commented. "That's if she knows the cost of undoing the corruption," Carsen clenched his fists. He did not expect that he'll come to a point where he would force to choose between Hannah and Talyn. These two young lad

In complete silence, an uneven, rough-coated cylinder came closer. It had an unusual shape and texture that felt both familiar and out of place and time: the bark was rough and ashen from a charring fire, and it was shaped like a collapsed, branchless tree trunk. A small region of blue light appeared as it got closer—was that a lingering flame from the blaze? -- lit up the top of the form just past its center. Its growing aft was surrounded in the pitch-blackness of space by yellow light haloes that most likely came from inside the cylinder as if embers still burned with molten yellow-white heat inside the stubbed remains of roots that had once supported and fed the huge tree. So, this is one part of their base? It looks like a vehicle, a huge vehicle that's as large as a town. Hannah thinks. She didn't expect to be brought here. This is different from where she went the last time. In her expectation, this is where they keep Talyn. There was not even a reaction when Hannah stepped i

How could she anyway when at her young age she was sent to war? No, Talyn, you do not deserve to die in this foreign land...Hannah thought to herself as she exerted all the strength she have within releasing the melody of healing. At some point, her nose began to bleed an indicator that she was going beyond what she can give. "H--hannah.." She heard Carsen whisper. At the side of her eyes, she saw him like he's wanting to stop her, but she did not turn. She just continued. Now, Talyn's eyes began moving, until they slowly opened up, until the color of her skin began to come back to its being lively again. Now, a little more effort to completely eliminate the black patch that's occupying her skin. Hannah drew out more effort within her, again, playing the melo

"I may keep the flute, but unlike its true wielder, I cannot keep it within my body system," Carsen muttered. They were now discussing how they can secure their newly attained power. It's been weeks since Hannah's dead body was laid in the replica of Eden, and as per her request, now they were discussing how the Outsiders could secure the missing piece of the flute, her flute. Actually, she requested Carsen to personally secure the flute, but for Carsen, the flute is the kind of power that doesn't suit him. Besides, the only reason why he's keeping it is that Hannah was right, he doesn't want Jimmie Vaughn to become more stronger. " The Starstrike's underground is the safest place to keep it, actually, but I think the reason why this instrument is attached to the spine of its owner is that the owner's body is the real safest place to keep it," Orin muttered. Carsen nodded. He agreed. But he doesn't want to do it. "I don't want to be taking powers that are not naturally mine, bes

Everything in the cosmos has become a void. Almost a third part of it has fallen into blackness and emptiness. At this moment, Prime had been transported back to planet Earth but nothing was left in there. This planet has been long in desolation but this time it is very different, even dreadful, even emptier from the previous. Perhaps this is the earth's worst state. The planet has come into the void, and what was left were just vast barren, dry lands. There's not even a single drop of water. The planet is no longer the blue planet, the life-sustaining, and Prime knows that it would be just an hour before this entire land would disappear, and this planet would turn into just -- "a darkness", like those what happened in the cosmos. Seeing the planet's most devastating state, seeing its travail, and dying state, Prime couldn't help but be overwhelmed by emotions. He's late. There's not even a single life he had caught in here when he arrived, and that's so disappointing. Remorse, yeah, h

The High Council's realm is a serene scenery. It is so beautiful that it gives the beings there a sense of peace. It also has a kind of vibe that will make anyone feel in awe and somehow hesitant. But Prime Emanator has been used in this place. He no longer felt any intimidation. He moved inside. His steps were sure to where he was going -- to the Council hall. When he arrived there, he was met by a group of creatures in their human-like figure, yet their aura tells they aren't humans. "Oh, so gate did not reject you!" one of the Council commented. "We can see that you are now completely back, Emanator," one said. Prime ignored their comments. He has no time for that. "I bet you all know why I'm here," he said. The council who were sitting at the center seat raised his eyebrow for Prime's snobby attitude. "Careful, know where you are and who you are talking to," said the council. Prime scoffed, " I wonder if you still could act like high and mighty when all of us here got w

The stability of the planet was just a temporary relief but it was never the cure to what Earth is going through right now. Today is another menial day for the people. Some were bustling down the streets. At least now, though in a short time, city streets had become alive, again. Though there were remains of ruined buildings, at least the streets are no longer ghost towns. People are starting to go out and live their normal human lives. Friends and families gathered for a common work, for a meal, while the rest of humanity are beginning to get up again. It was particularly interesting to watch everyone having life in these busy streets, some walking busy, some walking leisurely, they're the symbol that the planet is now recovering. "This is disheartening to see," Talyn whispered. She was there in the side street, observing, and perhaps guarding. Usiu didn't reply for he felt the same way too. These humans didn't know that the peaceful lives they were enjoying now were just tempora

Carsen's brows furrowed, "What then?" he asked. "The battle you'll be in in the next days no longer needs combat, but it will be a battle of abilities, of powers. If you really want to stop the Vilgroi, you need to surpass him," Tadhiel explained. Then, his gaze trailed at Carsen from head to toe. " Aside from that the High Council will reject you, you won't win against the Vilgroi with that state of yours, so human, or a superhuman? No," Tadhiel stated. Carsen sighed, "Okay, so what are we going to do here?" "I will guide you in tapping into your full state as Prime Emanator," Tadhiel said. "Uh, but wait, erasing my humanity would that mean I'll forget all my memories as Carsen Adams?" he asked. Tadhiel chuckled, "No, you're not like the Vilgroi, that thing happens only when on

    The Song Of Destruction

The gathering of all the gems in the pillar was the collapse of the entire game world. Because of that, no game realms would exist on planet Earth no matter how powerful the Vilgroi and his boundless are. Carsen and the Outsiders made sure of that. With the help of the supplies and lands they personally cultivated, and together with those gems, the Outsiders were able to at least restore the planet's vegetation a little. Such a thing has a big impact on human lives for that means, now supplies, food and all the basic necessities they need for living would no longer be denied of them. For a little time, the world was back to its normal state where the people's lives had been lived normally like before Jimmie Vaughn rose to power. However, Carsen Adams, and the Outsiders, know that this isn't the end yet, that there's still a threat out there, and perhaps there will be until the Vilgroi is alive. "It's like there's an eternity in each sound in this moment here in this farm," Uncle Br

Now Carsen is on his way to the trail to the pillar to collect the last gem he needed on it, the cruxible. "This is perhaps the last time I will be helping you dude," Takii said to Carsen. "I'm already quite obvious to the other hunters." Carsen tapped Takii's shoulder, " It's fine, bro, thanks for this anyway," he said. "But if I may ask, the game hunters, what are they?" Takii's brows furrowed, " What do you mean, what are they?" "What are they? Like are they like you? A human?" Carsen asked. Takii laughed, " Of course, but unlike the players, we weren't given choices to side with. Our allegiance must be with Jimmie Vaughn alone, and what I'm doing now would certainly risk my life." Carsen sighed, " This is the last time you'll going to be doing this anyway," he muttered. The trail to the pillar is extremely dangerous compared to the others he has gone to. Takii told him that it was a different world there beneath the portal, yet he needed to accomplish it all in a design

" I'm opening the cell gate now, master, but I can't guarantee your powers will work out fine when you guys come out," Talyn informed Carsen. They were still communicating through telepathy. "It's okay, Tal, I don't have time to play this game, can you give me some information about those voices we heard in our headphones?" Carsen asked. Talyn swiped the large monitors in front of her, and as she did so, certain images popped out on the hologram screen. She was quite surprised to see who were those. "Uhm..master based on the voice recognition here, it's Adeleum and Mihr," she told Carsen. "Adeleum? Mhir?" Carsen muttered. "Mihr?" Usius interrupted when he heard what Carsen had just uttered. Carsen turned to him and asked, " Yeah, why?" Usiu's eyes gleamed at the recognition of an old friend's name. Yeah, how could he forget such a name? Mihr and he grow up together in their realm. He was a childhood friend. Mihr even learned first to sing than him. He used to look up at hi

Carsen's eyes lit up as he sensed the Adeleum and Mihr's arguing. Although it isn't clear to him who's the creatures behind manipulating them into this game, he could sense right now, that whoever is behind this, they're not on good terms. My ability is working despite the unknown. Now, what I needed to know was to learn who are the boundless behind this! Sadly, I can't communicate with Talyn. Carsen thought to himself. The cell gate sounded again. This time, the game soldiers are fetching another player. The players hold their breath, expecting that one of them will be chosen to face their death. "It's now your turn, doctor!" Todd was startled at what he heard on his headphones. His face went pale in fright. He looked around as if asking for help from his fellow players but he knew that they couldn't. Todd looked back at his co-players when the game soldiers took him. Meanwhile, Dizal banged the cell in frustration. "We must get out of here!" he muttered. He then turned to C

The cell gate opened. The players all hold their breath anxiously. This time, the first one to play was called. It was Jair. Hearing that, Lizzie broke out in tears and begged she'd replace him instead but the operators were too deaf. It's unusual this time that there aren't any explanations or rules given before they were called out, before the start of the game. The more reason that the players get nervous. They wonder about the uncertainty, and they know its possible danger so it's scaring them. The rest of them remained quiet, while others had violent reactions. Like Lizzie who was crying on the floor now, and Dizal who was hitting the cell door and cursing at the cameras above them. While Carsen on the other hand just sits calm, thinking in the corner. "Urgghh!!! Let us all out of here!" Dizal was screaming. He tried to throw some force field on the cell bars but it just bounced. The prison cell where they are held is indeed resistant to their ability as Carsen said. Aside from
