The warehouse smelled of blood and gunpowder. The bodies of Zachary’s assassins lay strewn across the floor, their black combat gear soaked in crimson. Bullet holes riddled the walls, and smoke curled from shattered light fixtures. The battle was over, but the war had just begun.

Carrick stood in the center of the carnage, wiping the blood off his knife with a torn piece of cloth. His heartbeat had already steadied. Violence no longer shook him—it fueled him.

Victor crouched beside one of the dead attackers, yanking off the man’s mask. “These aren’t just mercs. They’re Gale enforcers.”

Lila kicked over another body, her lips tightening. “So Zachary finally decided to get his hands dirty.”

Russell leaned against a toppled crate, still catching his breath. “What the hell are we supposed to do now? He just sent killers after us! We can’t stay here!”

Carrick’s gaze flicked to the blood-streaked floor, then to the shattered security cameras. This place had been compromised.

The storm outside raged, rain hammering against the windows of the Gale Estate. Inside the grand study, the atmosphere was just as violent. Zachary Gale stood near the fireplace, his hands clasped behind his back. The burning shipping yard replayed on the massive screen before him, the flames reflecting in his cold, calculating eyes.Cole stood to the side, waiting for orders, while Domino lounged on the leather couch, twirling a knife between his fingers.Zachary finally spoke, his voice a low growl. “Where is she?”Cole straightened. “We’ve tracked her movements over the past two days. She’s been staying at a safehouse outside the city, under the protection of Carrick’s men.”Zachary’s fingers tightened behind his back. “How many guards?”“Four,” Cole answered. “Two stationed at the entrance, one on the rooftop, and another inside.”Domino chuckled. “Four? That’s insulting.”Zachary ignored him. “And Carrick?”Cole exhaled. “He’s unpredictable. He doesn’t stay in one place for long.

The rain had begun to seep through the cracks in the ceiling, droplets mixing with the crimson staining the floor.Carrick stood over Domino’s slumped body, chest heaving, adrenaline still roaring through his veins. The knife in his hand dripped with his brother’s blood, a stark reminder that there was no turning back.Zachary Gale didn’t move. He stood in the shadows, his unreadable gaze locked onto his youngest son. The soft, amused smirk on his lips sent a chill down Carrick’s spine.“You’ve grown,” Zachary mused, his voice smooth, almost fatherly. “I suppose I should be proud.”Carrick wiped the blade against his sleeve, eyes narrowing. “Proud?” His voice was laced with contempt. “You should be afraid.”Zachary let out a quiet chuckle. “Afraid? Of you?” He gestured toward Domino’s bleeding body. “I let your brother sharpen his blade against you for years, and this is what you’ve become.. a killer. A s

The air in the safehouse carried an uneasy stillness, the soft hum of a computer screen flickering against the walls. Carrick stood at the center, his arms crossed, eyes locked onto the list Alex had pulled up.Names. Dozens of them. Each one represented an individual tied to the Zenith Family, business partners, financiers, informants. People who had taken a chance on Carrick and his vision. And now, Zachary Gale had marked them.Carrick inhaled deeply, keeping his voice measured. “How recent is this intelligence?”Alex tapped a few keys, eyes scanning the screen. “We intercepted it about thirty minutes ago. Some of these people have already gone silent.”Victor, who had been leaning against the far wall, straightened. “That means Zachary has already made his move.”Lila shifted uneasily, her fingers tightening around the strap of her shoulder holster. “We should have expected this. Zachary doesn’t sit back and watch. He counterattacks.”Carrick’s mind raced through the implications.

Carrick walked through the grand halls of the Gale Estate, his footsteps echoing against the marble floor. Everything here was as he remembered, immaculate, cold, and exuding power. The air smelled of expensive cigars and old money, but beneath it all, he could still sense the rot.Victor walked beside him, scanning the surroundings with the sharp instincts of a seasoned strategist. Behind them, two guards trailed closely, their presence a silent reminder that they weren’t welcome guests. At the end of the corridor, a pair of towering mahogany doors loomed. One of the guards stepped forward and knocked twice before pushing them open.Inside, Zachary Gale sat in his high-backed leather chair, a glass of scotch in his hand. The room was lined with bookshelves, their contents untouched for years, more for show than for knowledge. A single chandelier cast a warm glow over the room, highlighting the man who had once called himself Carrick’s father.Zachary looked up, a slow smile forming o

Carrick strode down the marble-floored hallway, his heartbeat steady but his mind racing. Zachary had agreed to release Anthony, but Carrick wasn’t naïve. His father didn’t surrender without a contingency plan.Victor matched his pace, his hands in his pockets, but his sharp eyes scanned every corridor.“You think he’ll actually let Anthony go just like that?” Victor asked, voice low.Carrick exhaled slowly. “No. He’s probably trying to stall, find a way to neutralize the threat without giving up leverage.”Victor nodded. “Exactly what I was thinking. We should have someone monitoring the drop. Could be a setup.”Carrick pulled out his phone and sent a quick message. “Already on it. Jason and Elena are en route to the location. If anything’s off, they’ll signal us.”Victor smirked. “Always two steps ahead, huh?”Carrick gave a small shrug. “It’s the only way to survive.”They reached the entrance of the estate, where a black SUV was already waiting for them. Carrick sat at the head of a large wooden table, his fingers drumming a steady rhythm as he processed Anthony’s words.Domino was returning.Victor leaned back in his chair, arms crossed. “Alright, let’s break this down. If Domino’s coming back, it means Zachary’s shifting gears. What’s the play?”Carrick’s expression remained unreadable. “Domino isn’t just some enforcer. He’s the ideal heir, ruthless, efficient, and completely loyal to Zachary. If he’s coming back, it’s because my father wants to speed up whatever ‘Phase Two’ is.”Jason, standing by the wall with his arms crossed, frowned. “What exactly do we know about Domino’s operations?”Anthony shifted in his seat, still a little sore from his captivity. “Last I heard, he was handling a lot of Zachary’s off-the-books dealings overseas. If he’s coming back, it means Zachary thinks he needs his best weapon on home turf.”Victor smirked. “A famil

He was setting us up from the start.”Elena crossed her arms. “If Domino’s already moving, then Zachary’s next play is in motion. He had underestimated just how far ahead his father was playing. But that didn’t mean he was out of the game.He glanced at Jason. “What else do we know?”Jason hesitated. “Not much. Word just started circulating about an hour ago. Some sources say he landed this afternoon. Then let’s send the final message. Burn it all."Marco, who had remained silent throughout the battle, stepped forward now, his voice edged with restrained fury. "Are you serious? There are still workers in those buildings, people who had nothing to do with this. Burning the docks? That’s not strategy,

But with that power came a growing unease, a creeping doubt that gnawed at the edges of his thoughts.Carrick sat at the long table in the council room, his fingers steepled in front of him. The weight of his leadership pressed heavily on his shoulders, but it wasn’t the pressure of the city or his enemies that troubled him most. It was the growing rift between him and his men...his brother, in particular. Waiting for the next move.Carrick stood at the balcony again, his eyes scanning the city. The streets were still, the tension palpable. People were walking on eggshells, and Carrick could feel it. The empire he was building was delicate. One wrong move, and it could crumble beneath him. But he wasn’t about to let that happen.Marco entered the room, his expression tight. The years of brotherhood between them hadn’t dulled the sharpness of their arguments, but today, there was something more in Marco’s eyes. Worry. Concern. The power he had seized was not a comfort. It was a weight. A burden that pressed down on him every moment.Inside the estate, the atmosphere was thick with tension. The council room, usually filled with casual chatter and scheming, was eerily quiet. Carrick had been spending less time in the boardrooms lately and more time on the streets, dealing with the remnants of the old order. Each deal, each confrontation, had taken its toll. He had started to feel the cracks in his control, as if the power he had so ruthlessly claimed was slipping through his fingers like sand.“Carrick,” Marco’s voice broke through the silence. “We’ve got a problem.”Carrick didn’t turn a

Total control. As they drove back to the Gale estate, the tension inside the car was thick. Marco sat in silence, staring out the window, while Elias tapped his fingers against his knee impatiently.Darius finally spoke up, his usual smirk in place. “Well, that was fun. Can’t say I’ll miss Moreno. Guy was a snake.”Victor nodded in agreement. “Still, his connections ran deep. His men won’t just disappear. Some will scatter, but others will look for new leadership.”Carrick, sitting in the passenger seat, glanced at Victor. “Then we absorb them before someone else does.”Marco scoffed. “And you think they’ll just join you willingly?”Carrick smirked. “Everyone has a price.”Elias leaned forwa

Because the last time we spoke, you were quite happy to watch me die.”A flicker of guilt crossed Marco’s face. “I didn’t come here to argue, Carrick.”Victor, standing near the door with his arms crossed, scoffed. “Then what exactly do you want?
