Chapter 15: Late Afternoon

Although this was his first time cultivating using the Sun and Moon Condensation Art, the unfamiliarity of Chen Tu didn't seem to hinder the process.

The Spiritual Energy in his surrounding seemed to be descending toward Chen Tun in an organized manner. The movement also seems to carry a fragment of profoundness that other Spiritual Gathering Art couldn't produce.

The Spiritual Energy that came at Chen Tu in a spiraling fashion lasted for a while until he felt bloated from absorbing them.

One has to know that only a top-grade Spiritual Gathering Art could speed up the absorption process. This Sun and Moon Condensation Art is apparently one of the top-grade art mentioned.

Perhaps in this entire Blood Refining Grotto, only this Sun and Moon Condensation Art could supply enough Spiritual Energy in a single cycle.

Chen Tu immediately stops at the end of that cycle. But to his surprise, two energies appear inside his underdeveloped core. They're similar, each carrying a part of the sun's and moon's intensity.

Before he could do anything, the two energies clashed with one another. They started to spin within the barely existing core to overcome the other half of the Spiritual Energy in his body.

Although the two were battling one another, the changes maintained a neutral equilibrium. They allowed themselves to come together into one entity. A portion of the opposition was assimilated to form an opposing core to neutralize one another, turning this energy into a drop of liquid.

This substance was known as Sun and Moon Essence, a treasure created by using the Spiritual Energy from the sun and moon to refine one another. It appeared to contain two colors, holding the other party within its core.

It was perfect harmony, as both sides resembled one another, like the sun's heat and the moon's chilliness.

Staring at the Sun and Moon Essence inside his underdeveloped core, Chen Tu felt that his cultivation would improve by leaps and bounds from simply digesting the spiritual energy.

After all, the volume of Spiritual Energy leaking out from it was ten times...

No...

It was a hundred times more potent than the Spiritual Replenishing Pill he saw in Chen Zigang's belonging. Previously, he witnessed how Chen Zigang used around two months to digest over two hundred pills to advance his cultivation into the third level of the Body Tempering Layer.

From what others said, a single Spiritual Replenishing Pill contained a single day's worth of Spiritual Energy. Doesn't that mean this drop of Sun and Moon Essence holds at least a hundred days' worth of Spiritual Energy?

(This must be a treasure! It has to be!)

Chen Tu broke out from his meditation when his mental state fluctuated wildly. With such excitement affecting his concentration, getting kicked out of the session was normal.

The only problem was it would take him a while to return to meditation.

Chen Tu regretted it instantly. Although he knew it was taboo to have wild thoughts during a meditating session, it couldn't be helped because he was too inexperienced in this. Unless Chen Tu was a Dual Cultivation practitioner, it would definitely ruin Chen Tu's personal potential for being unable to discipline himself.

(Ah! I'm so stupid! How can I get excited from merely looking at the Sun and Moon Essence?)

Chen Tu knocked on his head for not being disciplined enough. Of course, it was understandable because this was his first time looking at a treasure a hundredfold better than the common Spiritual Replenishing Pill.

From what Chen Tu knew, a pill like this was sold for ten Spiritual Coins each back in Crimson River City. This exorbitant price simply explains how much it costs to advance to the next level in the Body Tempering Layer slightly faster unless...

The individual had a Spiritual Gathering Art like the Sun and Moon Condensation Art.

Knowing that it was impossible to return to the meditating state again, Chen Tu gave up trying. There's a fine border between effort and idiocy, and he knew that forcefully putting effort right now is plain stupidity.

After adjusting his clothing slightly, Chen Tu steps outside his room.

One has to understand that this was his second day in the Blood Refining Grotto. It was a brand-new experience for him. It was his first time walking around a few hours before dinner time.

To his surprise, the number of disciples here was more than he had seen in the morning. At least 80% of the students came out of their room, filling up almost all available space around this disciple's accommodation.

Most were busy practicing alone, but there were always a few with a sparring partner.

There were a few bigger groups here and there, exchanging their comprehension of certain martial or cultivation art.

From how it looks, the topic they shared likely revolved around one to two martial art they learned from the Book Pavilion. After all, such an exchange wouldn't happen if everyone had a different foundation.

Of course, there's always a rare case here and there. The topic might remain connected to martial or cultivation art, but on a foundation level. After all, all kind of comprehension is something worth learning.

It was unfortunate for Chen due to being illiterate.

For the first time in his ten years of life, Chen Tu felt regretful for not learning how to read and write when he had the chance to do so.

Sadly, he was simply a servant back then. Due to his low status from birth, he chose not to pursue anything related to reading and writing at that time.

But now, he finally realized the importance of knowing how to read and write.

He quickly realized that it was usual for venues like Book Pavilion and Training Hall to be crowded around this time. After all, it was expected because this time was precisely when the disciples were done with their daily assignments.

Only a small number of disciples, around 10% of the total, weren't here. And the reason for that was that the assignment they took started in the evening.

"Are you going somewhere, junior Chen?" someone took the initiative to greet Chen Tu. The greeting caught him by surprise and made Chen Tu quickly turns around to see who it was.

"It was great to see you again, senior brother Qin." Chen Tu smiled. He had no idea he would stumble across Qin Lei again after leaving the Spiritual Garden.
