Chapter 67: Dinner

Qin Lei naturally saw how that newcomer got accepted by Chen Tu into their group. Being the one closest to Chen Tu, how can he not know what is in Chen Tu's mind?

His only worry was Chen Tu being too nice to everyone else. Of course, his concern was not in a bad way.

Qin Lei could feel that Chen Tu hardly doubted the intention of other people. Although it was not a bad thing, it wasn't good either. Of course, the worry should only be concerning when they were outside the Blood Refining Grotto.

After all, everyone was both junior and senior, brothers and sisters here. Suppose their fellow disciples weren't helping one another in a protected environment. What could be expected when everyone here went outside?

Would their sword be pointing at outsiders, or would it be pointing at their own fellow brothers and sisters?

Qin Lei decided to keep quiet after he gave it a quick thought. It might still be too early to speak about this with Chen Tu. Furthermore, Chen Tu was merely ten this year. There are still many years to go before he tries to go outside for an adventure.

When the newcomer found his fourth Burial Root, a few other disciples were finally unable to sit still. And right now, this guy is already on his way to obtaining his fifth Burial Root. They've been going for a few plants but have only found two after the newcomer had left. Naturally, this made everyone nearby explode in jealousy.

But these two were immediately warned by a senior worker before they approached Chen Tu on the plantation beside theirs.

"It is too late to change your mind now. Stay and your plantation." the senior worker said. He naturally understood what was in the junior's mind. But unfortunate for them, how can he simply allow them to move around as they like?

There's naturally a reason for allocating the disciples evenly throughout the ten plantations containing the Burial Roots. If everyone here went to Chen Tu because he had it easier, won't the rest of them get abandoned?

What will happen to those Burial Roots passing their maturity in that case? Let them go to waste?

"Aii... One of you should go and get the rest of my disciples to come and help. Another one of you should go and grab that rabbit over to me." Elder Wei Xuan couldn't help but chuckle at what was happening. And without further ado, he instructed two of the senior workers to run an errand for him.

"As you ordered, elder." the senior workers split and went to do what they were told.

In a blink, one senior worker came to Chen Tu's side and called his name.

"Chen Tu, come with me to see the elder." the senior worker said.

"HUH?" Chen Tu was still puzzled by his words. But before he could react, the senior worker yanked Chen Tu's collar and brought him along to Elder Wei Xuan's side. As the overseers of the Spiritual Garden, who here doesn't know that Chen Tu is slow sometimes?

"Xiao Tu, Xiao Tu... Since you're so good at finding the matured Burial Roots, it is only normal to contribute and help everyone out, don't you think?" Elder Wei Xuan said. But out of curiosity, he pinched the boy's cheek to see how he had such a peculiar ability.

Even the elder would guess two plants wrongly in ten guesses. And this brat here actually had 100% accuracy? How could that be?

"What do you think?" the elder rubbed Chen Tu's hair, teasing him simultaneously.

Feeling that he would go dizzy from all the head rubbing, Chen Tu quickly agreed to the elder's request. What other choice he had with the elders making fun of him.

Wasn't he just too young?

"Alright then. We'll talk about your rewards later. For now, go down there and help the others. Yun Long and the rest would be coming over in a while." the elder said and lightly slapped Chen Tu's buttock.

The slap had no other special meaning. It was simply a bigger target for the elder to send the boy gently onto the tenth plantation, which is also the furthest away. And since he had landed here without a problem, Chen Tu naturally had to do what he was ordered to.

When he was halfway done with the tenth plantation, Chen Tu was jumping and dancing like a monkey for the senior worker's attention. Both of his hand was holding onto both ends of a string.

(I got no more strings!!!)

That was how Chen Tu tried to deliver his dilemma. And because he was too young, his action ended up looking cute.

"Pu!" the cuteness made elder Wei Xuan and the other senior workers cough the tea in their mouths. But with a swing of the elder's finger, a stack of strings was delivered to Chen Tu's side. Additionally, an extra was also left at the entrance to each plantation.

Very soon, the other five disciples of Elder Wei Xuan came and started working on the tenth plantation. As for Chen Tu, he had moved to the ninth.

Honestly, it had been quite a while since the Spiritual Garden was as lively as it was today. There was a smile on everyone's face, be it the disciples, senior workers, or Elder Wei Xuan. Except when they had their big harvest many years ago, a sight like this is rarer than a shooting star.

Furthermore, today is likely their best harvest over the past few years. To everyone's surprise, they had been working for twelve full hours with occasional rest in between. Nobody appeared to be tired at all.

Instead, they had an energetic expression on them from pulling out too much Burial Roots. They might continue if it wasn't because the sky was completely darkened.

Although the problem can be handled by getting someone to hold the lantern for them, what for? It's not like they're desperate for something here. After all, the farm is theirs, the Spiritual Herbs were theirs, and this place is theirs!

"Alright, everyone. Come and have your dinner before we talk about other matters!" Elder Wei Xuan said. He appeared to be the happiest out of everyone here.
