- Whites Residence-

Sitting at the kitchen island, Dan White in his gray nightrobe stared blankly at the wall in front of him. It was already nine forty-nine at night, and he was still feeling down from what happened in the afternoon.

He looked down at the glass of whiskey in his hands and gulped down what was left of it.

"You know that’s bad for your health, right?" Ann’s voice came from behind him as she walked towards him.

He turned to look at her, then turned back to the drink and poured himself another glass. "What’s the use of preserving my life when it could be taken away from me one day?" he chuckled drunkenly.

Ann stood beside him and exhaled loudly.

"Wanna join me?" he offered her the bottle.

"I still love my life, Dan." "I still have kids to raise, so no thank you," she hissed and walked to the sink to do the dishes.

Dan watched her silently for a while before taking another mouthful from his cup. "How are they?"

°°° Heart Break in an Instant °°° • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania• -Colonel William’s Residence- "Morning, old man," Karen greeted her granddad, Colonel William, with a smile as she walked to the back of the house. The Colonel put down the magazine in his hands to take a look at the person greeting him. This old-timer had almost forgotten that his grandson was in Philadelphia. Not because he was suffering from any form of amnesia due to old age, but because he was a man of schedule, and his schedule for the entire week didn’t have her on it, so her presence had managed to skip his mind as he focused on every other thing. "Oh… "I almost forgot you were here," the old man chuckled as he stood up from the black outdoor chaise pool chair, stepping out from under the cover of the beige colored umbrella, and his features became much more pronounced. This grandfather didn’t look as old as he claimed to be. With his completely black hair, save for a cluster of silver hair strands

Standing in front of the PVC white-picket-fenced building, Sean, in black baggy joggers and a silver hoodie sweatshirt, strained his eyes to try to confirm movement within the house. In a minute, the front door opened, and Karen stepped out. She was clad in a black quilted jacket over a milky-brown cropped cami top, with blue ripped jeans and black combat boots. "Are we still walking a dog?" Sean asked as she got to the gate. She was looking outstanding. "A bit too much for you?" She smiled and pulled open the swing gate. "Well… "Not really," Sean laughed with a shrug. "You look perfect no matter the occasion," he smiled and stepped in. Karen smiled as she stared at him for a while, neither of them moving, both smiling foolishly at themselves. "You know at this point, you should be kissing me," Karen suddenly said while nodding. Sean was taken aback and lite

°°° Mutual Feelings °°° •Roxborough Dog Park• The walk to the dog park took them roughly thirty-three minutes. Although the walking distance from Karen’s house on Kingsley Street to the Roxborough dog park typically takes just about eight minutes, Nuke was playful, and Karen wasn’t making the situation any easier with her encouragement for Nuke to "misbehave." On the bright side, they were able to make a couple bucks after Karen made the dog perform tricks on the road. Passersby who were impressed gave what little they could squeeze out. Karen made them stop at three different spots so Nuke would perform tricks, and at each spot, they spent almost eight minutes. "I am never helping you walk Nuke, never again," Sean stretched as they released the hybrid German Shepherd into the off-leash area after taking off her leash. "What?" Karen laughed as she stuffed her mouth with cheeseballs. "What do you mean by "what"?" "You made almost seventy dollars busking with Nuke,

°°° Welcome to the Family °°° • Kingsley Street, Northwest Philadelphia • Under the illumination of the moon, the street was calm, with people walking home from wherever they were coming from. Almost every three minutes, someone would walk by with a dog or two. They were mostly coming from the Roxborough dog park. Amongst them were the attention-stealing trio. Sean, Karen, and the grey German Shepherd hybrid, Nuke. It was almost quarter past six. Although they had left the park at around forty-five minutes past five, August Woodman had gotten them to drop by his stepmother’s diner, which was a five-minute walk away from the dog park. They’d spent roughly fifteen minutes sharing experiences, and August was really cool. He was two classes ahead of them and three years older than Sean, but he didn’t behave like they’d expected a teenager would. He was rather mature and understood that age wasn’t really important when making friends. August had told th

°°° Blind Spot °°° • Louisville, Kentucky• -Whites Residence- The fragrant smell of pancakes filled the dining room of the Whites as Ann served breakfast. "Good morning, guys," Dan greeted as he quickly walked to the dining room, knotting his tie as he walked. He ruffled Andrew's hair and gave Ann a kiss on her cheek. They had made up the previous night. Dan had taken her out to dinner and apologized for his behavior, promising that Canada would be the last move. "Morning," she replied, finishing dishing out everyone’s breakfast. "Hey Andy, where is your brother?" Dan asked as he finished knotting his tie and sat down. Andrew looked up at his father, his shoulder-length Havana brown hair covering most of his face, especially his eyes. He returned his gaze to his plate, and after a couple more seconds of silence, he replied with a distant, monotonic tone, "I don’t know." Dan, who was readjusting the tie's knot at his neck, froze at this. He then turned to Ann,

°°° Inhumans °°° Jason finally opened his eyes at around twelve in the afternoon. He had been sleeping all through the morning, stirring awake at certain points but drifting back into sleep after a minute or two of remaining on his bed. He still remained in bed, but the sleep wasn’t returning like it had the past five times he woke up. He lay still, facing up, staring at the ceiling. After he confirmed the time, he was shocked that his mother hadn’t come up to check on him, or maybe she did, but she’d just allowed him to watch himself. They had spoken the other night, as promised. She told him that people entered and left the lives of others by chance and fate, but the most powerful tool was "decisions." Decisions were what actually shaped fate. It was left for him to decide if he would keep being friends with Sean or not. She made him see that Sean wasn’t aware that he hadn't been there for him the way he—Jason—had always been there for Sean. "Communication is ke

Sean, however, was able to maximize this gift and spent it with Malone and a few others at the mechanical department, familiarizing himself with the concepts he needed to know. Although he did personal research and even had some experiments with his mom’s car, he knew he didn’t know enough. Luckily for him, a couple cars, including a Mustang, were brought to the shop, and he got to study their engines. At exactly four in the evening, the auto shop was already locked up, and they were on their way already. Two minutes later, Carlos’ Mustang drove past them. He hadn’t been at the shop since twelve. After his lunch date with Sarah, he informed them that he was going to drive over to August’s dad’s shop. Sean had told him, and he immediately decided to help without taking to

"Two soft scrambled eggs, dotted with cheddar cheese; three juicy sausage patties, flecked with red pepper; two Belgian waffles, drizzled with Vermont-fresh maple syrup; oven-fried red potatoes, laced with bacon and green onion; and ice-cold Florida orange juice." He sighed and began to enjoy what Ma’am Kelly had served him. "Kelly, won’t Karen be joining us for breakfast?" He asked Kelly, who was seated on the left side of the dining table. He had so warmly welcomed her into his home that she felt like family. As a matter of fact, she didn’t even need to work as she had two kids to take care of her bills, and after working for th

°°° New Frontier °°° • Unknown Dimension • In a realm of pure terror, a hellscape unlike anything movies have made as their depiction of "hellish," a place where the laws of nature were twisted and contorted and reality itself was a malleable thing, the silhouette of a humanoid figure clad in a flowing robe walked. The realm was dark and foreboding, with twisted spires of obsidian jutting up from the ground, casting deep shadows across the landscape. The sky was a sickly orange hue, with no discernible source of light, and the air was thick with the stench of sulfur and brimstone. As the silhouette ventured deeper into the realm, the very fabric of reality began to warp and twist. The ground churned and groaned beneath his feet, as if trying to swallow him whole. Rivers of molten lava flowed freely, and great pillars of flame shot up from the ground at random intervals. A being sat in the center of this hellish expanse. Its presence carried immense power and chaos. It was surround

°°° Power of a God °°° • Dark World • Sitting in the blue-hued spotlight, Colonel Jennifer tended to her legs, awaiting her fate. Being in the Dark World was her safest bet; even if Carlos were to kill Oracle Janice like the Mother Omega had hinted, she figured there was no way he could figure out how to get there, and if he did, the odds were that the Mother Omega would not permit a stranger into the Dark World. But like before, she couldn’t be more wrong. A bright light appeared behind her, and she turned around eagerly, hoping it was a Silvered Sister, but when she saw it was blue, she hoped with all her might that it was Oracle Janice, but looking up, all her hopes were crushed. Standing in the light away from her was a starkly naked Carlos Wilson. “Killed by a naked man,” were the first words that escaped her lips as she shook her head and turned away from him. °°° Heart of Mexico °°° • Mexico City, Mexico In the city, now made into a crater, there was nothing but silence and flames, but in the midst of the rubble, a boulder was “driving” itself through the rumbles, keeping to the shadows as it navigated the city. It kept moving until it arrived at the epicenter of the explosion. After a couple seconds, the boulder rumbled silently, and then it split apart from top to bottom, revealing two people. They both looked like they had been through hell, especially the bald African American, who needed to be supported by his partner. Blue and Madera slowly walked closer to the spot that was the source of the blast and halted, looking at it for a while. In front of them was the lifeless corpse of their organization's most powerful entity, in a constricting position. “He tried to save her in the end?” Blue muttered in a low and solemn tone. "Nothing remained of her blue, nothing," Madera said, her voice cracking."Why... why was she cursed in su

The explosion had brought down planes all over the country. The city was every teenager’s vision of the apocalypse and more. The spectacular glory of Mexico was now nothing but history, quite literally, as it would make history as the “World's Largest Crater." The entire city, over 500 square miles of land mass, is now the world’s largest "sinkhole." Colonel Jennifer, dressed in tattered black clothes, hovered above the radiation-filled city. The oracles that were supposed to assist her within and around the city were all within her range of power. Despite the fact that they had been there longer, she had not heard of any of the oracles being promoted. They were all still at mountain level. The channel is a privately owned network dedicated to telling truths that other news stations aren’t permitted to tell. The camera pans over the site of the explosion, which was literally the entire city, but upon deeper analysis, the epicenter was discovered. It was around the city’s cathedral. The aerial view reveals a massive crater in the place of what used to be a tourist attraction, the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral. The crater was several thousand meters in diameter and several meters deep, with debris scattered for miles around. The reporter’s helicopter hovers over the scene, safely

Blue huffed as he tried to catch his breath, struggling to push himself off the ground. “I was expecting that by now you would have been wise enough to know that going for head to head combat against me would be futile,” Carlos chuckled, and he began stalkily walking towards the struggling bald man. “If you had used your ability to manipulate the earth to create an armor, this fight would have been less damaging for you,” Carlos chuckled, but then his grin vanished as he suddenly felt a sinister, rage-consuming presence beside him. Five meters away from the door, he suddenly collides with an invisible wall and is pushed back a few feet.
