~Folks~

"16 years ago, Iseult's father and I went to Winchester in England to spend few days at his mother's place. She was sick, and you were at the boarding school back then--"

She nodded towards Iseult, who had her left finger intertwined with Devin Snr, who had both hands on his lap. Both seated on a couch, opposite Iseult's mother's.

The woman continued,

"Turned out she wasn't suffering from Cancer, she only had a tumor hiding in her brain, but lucky enough it was removed and she got fine."

She did the usual pause and continued,

"Since there was no hurry for us to go home. Your dad was a priest back then and headed a small church before he was laid off. I never knew Priest were ever laid off."

She chuckled wryly and continued,

"We went hiking since we had few days at hand; we've only spent few days off our weeks. And beside a hill in a dead cold snowing winter

Her light legs not light enough to carry her body in the swiftness her heart craved. Her long sleek hair floating to the rhythm of the wheezing wind crashing against her wild body. Her two years old baby clasped to her breasts with the left hand, the right aiding the race. The constant rustles and slithering and hisses kept coming behind her but she had no idea what was after her nor what she was running away from. She stopped running again, like she had done five minutes earlier. She could feel darkness crawling up her skin. Every movement around her got to her. She heard a sharp sound in the undergrowth beside her. She flinched and fell on her back, gentle sobs wielding."Oh... by heaven!"She muttered.

One of them with scanty beards looked up at the woman in disgust, slurring the words,"What in the world is wrong with waitresses of these days. You live off us and yet you think you can be the master of whatever words you deem fit?"The blonde wielding a recent glare scoffed,"Tell you what, asshat, I don't have to answer your dimwitted question. All I know is, when I'm back, you'll wish you were gone. At least look around and see that you're the only miserable lots littering this bar."She scorned as she walked away,"As though they could pay all they debts."The asshat pushed his chair back in rage to make for the woman, staggering, almost losing his stance and falling off. It's been over a week now and work had brought them together again."But you'll answer the call won't you? The call of a corpse?"The scanty bearded laughed to his own joke, fixing the long iron pipe in the wall. The person he was addressing was behind the other wall."Why me? I bet you had no guts to call Jacob. It's been all mouth, hasn't it?"He teased the scanty bearded, who pushed the pipe deliberately and almost pierced the chest of the fellow with the edge."Lucky you. I should gut your throat. Jacob holds no place around me anymore. That coward."The other fellow was quick to toss the odds behind as they moved to the other hole in the wall, few steps ahead. They only had three more to go."What

He was just a neighbor next door. A neighbor who was always indoor with an unknown identity. But what he didn't hide was his admiration for Iseult, and she knew that too.He had learnt to keep his distance from her when Jacob was alive, but now that he's dead, he probably would shoot his shot. But not today. Not four days after the horrific death of her husband. All he could do was sit with her there and help her through the grief. He was 6"2, Caucasian, brown cap-like hair with wavy front."Sustained."The Judge nodded and he stood up. But it seemed like the head seems like its favorite part of the body?"He paused to think for a while at the possibility of sense in what he had just said. But Evelyn derailed,"Could we stop calling that monster a baby already?"Iseult shot her a quick glance and looked away. There was little she could do at that moment.Since Iseult hardly had a thing to say to that, Evelyn had a shot to keep abreast her point,"I have a thought."She paused, thinking of a possible way to direct the words to accurately justify her intention. As soon as she got a grip on it and the unalloyed attention of the other three, she continued."How about if this babies are fooling us? Initi

The baby must be looking for its mom."Mr Morgan maintained his argument as he looked away from Devin Snr again, holding the baby's balance on the edge of the table. Devin Jnr was seated beside him, Iseult and Evelyn at the back seat.Amongst all the positive things happening at the moment was the calm atmosphere. Twas rather different from the tense and worked up like the previous day's."There are two babies."He looked through the rearview mirror after those words at the sisters. What was he expecting? The other is on a run, catching the cruise of a serial killer.""Baby on the run?"Devin Jnr teased, but nobody fleshed the joke. Devin Snr looked back at the sisters again. Though each police officer monitoring was sure not to stare at the baby for long. They only take a glance and look away top quickly.Iseult was almost locked away for harboring such threat in her house but Devin, the elder had pleaded with the Sheriff to let her off the hook, claiming that there were a lot of things tied to the events. He had promised the Sheriff to get to the root of it all, but all he could do at that moment was scold Iseult with words."What did you say?"Iseult turned to him. How can I help you?"The Deputy sheriff with the name tag, Floyd Marvin said, standing at the door of the sheriff's office."We'd love to address this to the Sheriff directly. This is quite a delicate matter."Marvin's eyes strayed from the baby in Devin's chest to Iseult and Evelyn. As soon as he restored his gaze on Devin, the elder, he asked,"I don't think we have the time for this. The sheriff is busy with the case of the hideous deaths.""What do you mean by this?"Evelyn attacked and Marvin laughed,"Of course family matter. The state is on cautious turn now. The last thing we want is a family matter here."Evel
