That evil spirit is so ugly. It isn’t clear if it’s a male or female. Its shape is almost transparent like white smooth robe, having an image like a human with an unclear face.
Its long messy black hair is all over the place covering most of its face. But Arifin can still see the ugly grins of that devilish creature.
“There you are, the branded child! The one who has been sacrificed as an offering for the Carrion Flower Devil! That smell, I like the smile of you. It makes me so horny and hot.”
After hearing that evil spirit talking to him, only then Arifin can identify it as a female. He also can see most of her ugly face now.
“Wha, wha, what are you talking about?” replies Arifin with an eerie face, and the chill running down his spine. “Don’t speak like you know me. And, don’t talk like you are falling in love with me at first sight.”
But the evil spirit just laughs like a madwoman. “There’s no one who can stand your temptation.”
“Bitch, please! Look at your face in the mirror! You are so ugly, you know that?!”
The evil spirit just flies straight to Arifin with open arms. Arifin doesn’t know what to do in this kind of circumstance. His legs are shaking, and he feels so disgusted mixed with fear.
“No, no, no! Take your ugly face away from me!!!
He had fought all kinds of strange monsters and terrifying alien creatures in his previous life. But still, this is his first time dealing with such an ugly and terrifying ghost. And he doesn’t know what this evil spirit wants from him.
He braces himself to deliver a blow as hard as he could. But his punch just passes through.
Deg!!!
Weirdly, he feels some pressure in his mind. He also feels like a bit of his energy is being drained out as soon as the evil spirit penetrates his body.
Arifin loses his balance due to his own momentum. He falls to the floor, while that evil spirit is penetrating the wall. When he tries to get up and then turns around, he no longer finds that evil spirit to be there.
“Where did it go?”
Shortly after, that evil spirit reappears again simply by passing through the wall. There is also another evil spirit coming in, and it seems like it is also female. Those two even start fighting with each other over Arifin.
“Move! He is mine!”
“No, he is mine!”
“Yo, ladies!” Arifin interefers. “Chill out, would you? It's not like I want to be with any of you.”
They immediately avert their attention to Arifin. Judging by their look, it’s clear that they are not simply horny. They are tempted by something else.
“That corrupted soul! Give it to me!”
“Give me your soul!”
Arifin is startled to see them flying directly toward him with their mad faces. He doesn’t know anything, but he just ducks down by instinct.
He manages to evade one of them. But the other one passes through his head. And again, he feels the same pressure in his mind, and feels like a bit of his life force is drained out of his body.
“What the?”
He is buckled because of the pressure in his mind. He shakes his head, and forces getting back up. He immediately climbs the bed, and picks the katana which is hanging on the wall above the headboard.
“Come, you ugly bitch!” He draws the Katana, trying to brace himself to fight them. “I know you are trying to steal my energy away from me.”
“Your energy? I don’t give a damn about your energy.”
“But your soul! That corrupted soul is so delicious! It invigorates me,” says the one evil spirit who managed to touch Arifin earlier.
Arifin waves his sword around. But none of his attacks can hurt them. Those two evil spirits are laughing at his useless struggle.
The only thing that comes to his mind now is to get away from them. But they are blocking his way toward the door.
He just passes through them. Some thin white aura leaves his body. And those two evil spirits start enjoying the meal.
Arifin himself is tripped, and then rolls over on the floor. He is getting weaker, and finds it hard to just get back up.
When the pressure on his head becomes much lighter, he immediately opens the door and rushes out of the room. But there he finds more evil spirits have already infiltrated his house.
“So, it’s true there’s an offering to the Carrion Flower Devil in this house?”
“How long has it been?”
“But there’s only one offering. Is it enough?”
“It’s still better than having none!”
Arifin’s face looks so pale and lifeless by their nasty appearances. He stupidly throws a chair at them once, and then hurriedly runs toward the kitchen.
As soon as he is out of the house, he also sees so many evil spirits flying between the trees behind his house. At least, their movements aren’t too fast while hovering in the air.
He then runs to the front yard, jumping over the fence, and leaves the house by carrying a katana with him. He knows that this katana is useless against those evil spirits.
But he can’t just throw it away. Because it’s a memento from his grandfather. “What now? I can’t even fight them.”
The house itself is located on the outskirts of the forest, in the Lumin Park resident at the hills of Lubuk Minturun. This resident is not too densely populated. He looks around trying to find help, but he can’t find anyone so far.
Until at some point, there are a few people attracted to Arifin. But they can’t see the evil spirits who are following Arifin from behind.
“Arifin?!” One middle-aged woman greets him from her yard. “What are you doing carrying around that thing in the middle of the night? Don't tell me you've also become a delinquent now?”
Arifin looks confused for a moment, to find this middle-aged lady nonchalantly talking to him as if she doesn’t see all those evil spirits approaching.
“Hey, kid! What’s wrong with you?” asks a man from the other house.
“What’s wrong you ask?” replies Arifin as he keeps his run. “Can’t you see I’m running away from them?”
Due to his curiosity, that man leaves his yard, without noticing a legion of evil spirits are flying toward him from behind. A few of those evil spirits pass through his body, and that man immediately passes out.
Two of that man’s family members leave the house rushing to help him. But they are also collapsed as the other evil spirits hit and pass through them.
Arifin takes the chance to look behind, and realizes what has happened to those three people. “No way! I can't get near any other people.”
He continues his run for a while, until he stops again to catch up to his breath. He looks behind, to find out whether those evil spirits are still following him.
It happens that he is now standing in front of a small coffee shop owned by Minda’s family. And there’s also that girl keeping that shop at the moment.
“Arifin, what’s wrong?” asks Minda with a curious face as he finds Arifin holding a katana.
Arifin himself is already looking like a delinquent street thug trying to get away from civil service. And it makes Minda even more worried of him.
“Is that a sword you are carrying with you?”
“Oh, no! Minda, get away from here!”
“Huh? Why? You know this is my house. Why would you tell me to…”
Arifin averts his attention away, to take a look at those evil spirits again. And indeed, he sees them still coming to him.
“Shiiiiit!”
He just gets away from Minda by running across the street. He even stops once, and then waves his hands like he is inviting those evil spirits to come to his direction. Minda averts her attention, with some curiosity to whom Arifin waves his hands. But she doesn’t see anything. She turns her attention back to Arifin with a cringed expression. “Hey, what’s wrong with...” “Just get away from me!” Arifin exclaims impatiently. “Get back inside the shop!” It startles Minda, making her a bit scared by how mad Arifin’s face is when shouting at her. It also attracts the attention of a few other people who are now inside the coffee shop. Sadly, Arifin also notices a few other evil spirits hovering above Minda’s house. As soon as they see Arifin, they dive toward him. Judging by their movement, it’s clear they are going to hit Minda on the way. Arifin has no choice but to rush toward Minda and then pushes her to the ground. “Kyaaa!!!” Minda falls, and those few evil spirits penetrate Ari
He runs and keeps running in the dark. Never comes to his mind about drawing that katana to fight back. Because he isn’t able to think straight at the moment. Until he reaches a location which is a bit more spacious with fewer trees around him. Even the dim light of stars enables him to observe his surroundings a bit more clearly. And now he knows that he is already surrounded by those demonic creatures. “Hold on! If they can hurt me, doesn’t that mean I can also touch them?” After standing there for a moment considering his options, only then does he draw his katana. “Come! Let’s see what you got?” He drops the scabbard on the ground. He slowly turns around in all directions with so much alertness while holding that katana with both hands. At least, he is not an amateur with that sword. And he has vast experience in the battlefield from his previous life as an awakened warrior. Four of those dedemit(s) are already so close ramming at him aggressively like wild boars. He manages
Meanwhile, Minda is already preparing to go to college. But she is still worrying about Arifin. She rides the scooter uphill towards the furthest corner of that housing estate on the edge of the forest, only to check on Arifin’s house. However, she finds the house so quiet, with all the lights off. “Could it be that he has already left for college?” She just decides to leave and heads to the campus. Unbeknownst to her, Arifin just didn’t turn on the lights at all yesterday. And just like the previous morning, she has to attend that “Polonco” activity at the laboratory building. Just as she leaves the stairs on the second floor leading to the corridor, she finds a few of her seniors already waiting near The Student Association secretariat office. She also finds the other new chemistry students in her generation already there too. All of them immediately avert their attention to her. But Minda doesn’t find Arifin to be amongst them. “No way!” she mumbles in awry, thinking that somet
The description looks too good to be true. This is just what he really needs. But he is a bit doubting to consume that strange item. But then, after remembering what he has gone through all night long, he begins to be convinced that he may have received some kind of system. “Well, what choice do I have now?” He then swallows that red crystal. His body feels warm. In just two seconds, all his pain is magically gone. “Wow, really? Hey, show me my Physical Stats once more?” he naively mumbles to himself. [Physical Stats] - Condition : 100 % - Fitness Level : 69 % Meanwhile, there is no change in the other stats in his physical attributes, still marked with (?) symbol. He finds that even his Fitness Level is increased slightly. But he knows it is not much different from his previous fitness level which was only 61 %. However, he believes that the increase of his Fitness Level is not because of this crystal. There’s no description mentioning that kind of effect. “Could this be be
Arifin only shakes his head because of her awkwardness. Despite the fact that they are the same age, Arifin sees her like a kid. He then goes to the bedroom, and takes a look at his appearance in the mirror. He touches his hair and starts thinking about that oddity. A moment later, he remembers about something else. “Oh, right! I need to buy a skipping rope.” He takes out his scooter and leaves the house to visit a sports store in a mall downtown. Before purchasing a skipping rope, he happens to see a stadiometer. He can’t help but to be curious by what Minda had said before. “Excuse me, Sir! Can I use this for a moment?” “Oh, sure!” answers the shopkeeper. “It seems like you are a sports enthusiast. At your age, you need to keep monitoring your growth. It’s important to avoid injury in training.” Arifin just smiles awkwardly. From what he knows from his previous life, he stayed at 162-163 cm since he was 17 until he reached 28. He thinks that he doesn’t need to worry about that,
But Arifin doesn’t give any response. He doesn’t even take a look at them, keeping his gaze straight to those seniors. Nathan and his friends are coming, looking for a place to sit at the back. But Arifin is still standing there, looking so stand out with his silver hair, acting so nonchalantly like he doesn’t give a damn to anyone. It attracts some chuckles from those seniors. They even start making a joke about Arifin wearing a wig. That tomboy girl named Hannah steps forward. Her right hand is so firm on the waist, while her left hand is now pointing at Minda with so much arrogance. “You! The sunny-side-dish girl! Come here!” Minda is startled. She immediately tidies herself. She checks her condition first before answering that call. However, right before she gets up, Arifin immediately prevents her. “Minda! Just stay there!” And so, Minda just sits back albeit with some awry written in her face. And of course, it attracts Hannah’s attention. Some other seniors also get up an
The rest of them look so alert despite the fact they outnumber Arifin. Amongst them, there are still six boys with holograms above their heads, which only Arifin can see. While the other seniors who are not marked as the targets have already distanced themselves away. Arifin still isn’t giving any response to that optional quest. He simply tries to calm his mind, and holds that small pipe like he is holding a kodachi. “One meter!” he says. It makes those seniors a bit confused with his words. “That’s my reach with this pipe,” Arifin continues. “If you want to take this wig off, feel free to enter my territory.” That warning only provokes their anger. They look annoyed, to see Arifin acting so arrogant in giving them a threat. “Don’t get so full of yourself, kid!” One guy from the right approaches Arifin recklessly. As soon as he steps on Arifin’s territory, the pipe already hits his head. Another dude comes from Arifin’s left side, intending to kick him. “Let’s see if you can r
Both Hannah and Ronald nod with unsure faces. Prof. Harun slowly averts his attention to Prof. Irwan by raising one of his eyes a little. As a matter of fact, this Professor Harun is the Chief of the Chemistry Department. While Professor Irwan, the Dean of the Faculty, is a Professor in the field of Physics. Most people in the science faculty are well aware of the fierce competition between these two professors in fighting for the position of the Dean Faculty. And they never shy away from showing their friction in front of others. “Are you going to punish him?” asks Prof. Harun. “Do you have the nerve to do that to our Chief of Student Association?” “I had abolished this kind of activity two years ago. How come these students are still able to do it under my noses?” replies Prof. Irwan rhetorically with a cold face. “This is an issue in our Chemistry Department,” argues Prof. Harun. “With all due respect, let me handle this matter.” “No, it's okay,” Prof. Irwan denies immediately
