14. "Jacob Hugh"

A year ago, while Xavier was in his morning shift as a construction worker, he received a call from the police station saying that his wife was in the police station.

He left his post and dashed to the station. When he arrived there, he saw his wife, Bridgette, and her employer, who was sitting next to her.

“He’s lying, officer! This man tried to harass me!” Bridgette shouted the injustice she received from her boss.

Who tried to harass who?

With doubtful ears, Xavier looked at mane named Jacob Hugh. He was sneering at Bridgette with distrustful eyes. Even just by looking at his face, Xavier knew Jacob is a bad deal.

Standing at the entrance of the station, Xavier stood there while clamping his fingers into white-knuckled vise-grips. He did not have to hear the whole conversation. With only Bridgette’s one statement, he was convinced that she was wronged.
