33. Humiliation

Humiliation.

While looking at the floor with wine dripping from the top of his head, to his face and to the tip of her chin, a cold wave of dread washed over Xavier. He was humiliated by Brethart in front of the employees.

Brethart wanted him to become the laughing stock of everyone. He thought this was the best way to show Haiden where he should stand. Although Haiden replaced his position as the CEO, Brethart wouldn’t like him to forget that he was his dog, and he will always be.

Murmurs buzzed like bees around flowers. Employees gasped as they observed their new boss froze like a statue while watching the wine dripping from his chin onto the ground. They felt their hearts dropped to the pit of their stomach, as they realized how mortifying it might be to stand in his place.
