Dam Son sat on a participant’s bench near the stage to regain his depleted stamina. “Suit I’m thirsty.” As he spoke, a small Noun Script slipped out of the opening of Dam Son’s sapphire suitcase which transformed into a large bottle of fragrant water.
“Ahh! That hit the spot.” Dam Son wiped away some trickling droplets from his lips then exuded a low belch. Glancing around, Dam Son realized something. “Hey, Papyrus there aren’t that many participants left in Block-C.”
“Well, the administrators stop accepting new applicants a while back since it is getting closer to dusk. That’s why there are fewer people. Most of who you see here have already won more than one battle. Just one lost and all of their efforts will be wasted.”
“I disagree with you Papyrus, I’ve learnt so much from these previous bouts.”
“Of course, you would say that. You are a newborn after all.”
As Dam Son continued conversing with his floating Papyrus, the referee hopped on stage then called out the next combatants. “We’re nearing the end of our admission matches for the day. As such, all participants of Block-C will mostly face elimination. I advise that you bring your best leg forward. For the next match, Applicant-600 and Applicant-620 please come up.”
“Huh, Applicant-600?” Dam Son thought of something as he searched his eyes around the crowd of remaining participants. “Isn’t Applicant-600 that Demi-Human girl?” shortly after gazing around, Dam Son identified his imperious opponent climbing atop the stage. “That’s her! The Demi-Human with the mysterious gourd and whip of numbers.”
“It’s Cinder Burn! She’s finally getting her chance again after waiting so long. And look who she is up against. That Dark-Human with the stupid name.” The spectators started gossiping among themselves.
“He’s dead meat for sure. Cinder Burn is going to eat his rocky ass up.”
“I don’t know. That Dark-Human seems competent enough to hold his own in a match.”
“Stop talking gibberish! There is no way Cinder Burn is going to lose to that little maggot when her enrolment hangs in the balance. All she needs is one more victory to get into Raixom Academy.”
“I suppose you do have a point. Let’s just watch and see what happens.”
“Yes, yes. Let’s not assume too much too early. Wait until the match begins.”
Both participants made it on stage. While the spirited referee was reiterating the rules, Dam Son was meticulously analysing his formidable opponent.
“This Demi-Human girl is dangerous. Based on her previous matches, she ended them all with one strike. I bet she thinks she can do the same with me. Just that look of hauteur in her eyes says as much. One thing is for certain if I allow her to attack first then I’m done for. I will have to utilize everything at my disposal to defeat her swiftly.” He smirked.
“Huh?” Cinder Burn noticed a smile resting on Dam Son’s dried lips which prompted her to raise a brow in disgust. ‘Is that Dark-Human excited to face me? Fhm, pathetic whelp. I will destroy him spectacularly just like the others who came against me.’
In truth, Dam Son wasn’t smirking because he was excited but mostly because he was anxious. As proof of this, his hand which gripped the handle of his sapphire suitcase was shaking slightly.
The referee standing in the middle of the combatants glanced at them to see if they were ready then slashed his hand downwards. “Begin!”
Dam Son dashed forth like a raging tyrant. The referee who usually vanished right after he commenced the matches didn’t get the chance to disappear before Dam Son made his move. “Papyrus I’m going in!”
“Right!”
[Basic Word Fu Script: Smash] (Activated) -5(MAPL)
“Suit, go forward!” Instead of his created Avatar, Dam Son applied the Smash Script to his sapphire suitcase as he slapped it towards Cinder Burn’s character with vehement force.
“Tsk. Pathetic brat.” Cinder Burn thought that she could easily smack away Dam Son’s frontal assault with her pinkie. Hence why she didn’t motion to dodge the incoming sapphire suitcase any time soon. “An incompetent Word Fu pretending to be a Word Augmenter? How disgusting. I will teach him not to imitate a professional Word Augmenter… huh?”
Dam Son unleashed the bulky surface of his sapphire suitcase on Cinder Burn’s arrogant mien. Its heavy density coupled with the streaking blue effects of the Smash Script transformed Suit into a deadly force to be reckoned with.
“How?” Before she knew it, Cinder Burn got smashed several metres away. She was well past the boundaries of the stage. When she finally stopped moving was after she crashed into the judges’ panel. The onlookers were incredulous after witnessing this shocking scenery.
“We… We have a winner!” The referee came late with his announcement because he too was flabbergasted that Cinder Burn, the star prodigy of Block-C was obliterated so easily by an unknown entity.
“I… I won?” Even Dam Son disbelieved how powerful his strike had been at first. “I won! I really won! Amazing! Suit you’re a badass you know that? If it weren’t for you I wouldn’t have won so easily. Yea! Yea!” Dam Son was blazing on stage, letting everyone in the audience know of his unbridled excitement.
“How? How did this happen?” Cinder Burn who had just picked her dirty behind up from the ground refused to believe that she had lost to a rocky entity. “He must have cheated somehow. There is no way that someone of my calibre would be defeated so miserably. I demand a rematch! Do you hear me? I demand a rematch!” She started behaving like an angry lunatic while pointing her unsheathe Whip of Numbers at Dam Son.
“Calm down Applicant-600! The match is already over.” The judges had to hold back Cinder Burn from doing something reckless. “You can always try again in the admission matches tomorrow. If you continue behaving so disorderly we will have no other choice but to revoke your application. Do you hear me?”
“AAAH!” Cinder Burn let loose a violent shout at Dam Son before storming out of the Mystic Arena with her livid complex polluting the air.
“Huh? What’s her problem?” Dam Son didn’t understand why his defeated opponent was so upset until Papyrus educated him.
“That girl is what we commonly call a sore loser. She was so arrogant up till the point when you gave her a swift spanking.”
“Oh. So she’s upset about losing to me?”
“That’s right. You did great out there.” Papyrus gave Dam Son a shoulder bump of praise.
Due to Dam Son’s swift victory over Cinder Burn, his next and final opponent didn’t show much promise. That Demi-Human was too intimidated to throw a punch. Hence Dam Son defeated him with ease, becoming the victor of his 4th match.“Winner! Applicant-620 has earned the right of enrolment!” The referee came over to Dam Son and stamped a unique symbol on his Papyrus. “Go to the judges’ counter to collect your entrance package. The stamp I gave you will validate your 4 victories and grant you access to Raixom Academy.”“Oh, thanks!” Dam Son hopped off the stage in elation with Papyrus following his shadow.“Congratulations, newborn. You weren’t so bad for your first time in combat.”“It was that Copy Script that helped me get accustomed to the feel of combat faster. Will I be able to use it again if I have more MAPL (Martial Arts Powered Letters)?”“Yes, but with some limitations.” Papyrus answered. “Each script that you currently have are Basic Immortals. This means you can reuse them
For 2 consecutive nights, Dam Son spent his time training in the forest. The nocturnal creatures had to vacate that specific clearing to avoid Dam Son’s destructive radius. During the daytime, he would go into town to get familiar with Vocabular’s construct. Each day was a brilliant learning experience for him.Now that the day had come for Raixom Academy’s admittance, Dam Son chartered a Book Vehicle to carry him there. It was located in the central region of the city where a massive milky globe was present. Surrounding that globe were multiple gigantic arcane scripts. Other lavish buildings and memorial landmarks were also near the area.“Wow, look at that rotating orb.” Dam Son arrived at the central transport terminal with mouth agape and excitement loose. The moment he stepped outside the building, he laid eyes on a globular splendour above. “So that right there is Raixom Academy?”“Technically the academy is inside there. You see those massive scripts oscillating the globe?” “Th
Dam Son walked through the exit of Caromine Institute with his heavy sapphire suitcase dragging leisurely behind him. “Whew, that orientation was really helpful in getting me accustomed to things, but there is still so much I’ve yet to learn about this academy.”“Indeed.” Papyrus replied with a fold of his pages. “Remember what that sexy teacher said about the products being cheaper here? Why don’t we go to one of the marketplaces to check out their stuff? Who knows, you might be able to get me that Letters Ink that we talked about.”“That’s a brilliant idea, Papyrus. I can explore on my way there. This place is so vast and beautiful. I want to take all of it in.”Dam Son started running along the expansive streets of Raixom Academy. It was safe to say that this place was likened to a compact city rather than a normal school solely designated for learning. Many activities and events were taking place all around, even at night this academy never sleeps. Need I remind you that this was
“Ahf! We finally made it to the top.” Exhaustion was painted all over Dam Son’s Dark-Human Avatar. The moment he set foot on the peak of the mountain, he dropped himself flat onto the ground. His impact affected the durability of the bottles of liquor he was carrying.Seeing this prompted an outburst from the elder’s lip. “Oi, brat be careful with my wine!” he ran towards the cart apace and prevent two bottles from falling over. “If you’re tired why don’t you take the load off? Tsk, young brat these days. They have no physical stamina. They’re too dependent on Magical Scripts to do their bidding, as a result, they became this damn weak. Tsk, tsk, tsk.”The elder took the burden off Dam Son’s back and carried the packed cart of liquor towards a small hut nearby.Present on the flat mountain peak was only a tattered temple abode, storage hut, rough rocks and vegetation, moreover, few chirping animals. There wasn’t much grandeur to be seen here aside from the high view of the academy.Th
Getting kicked off the drunken elder’s mountain peak, Dam Son motioned his tough behind towards the Tower of Residence posing idle afield. On his way there, his friendly Papyrus that had previously shattered into incognito mode manifested beside his shoulder looking displeased.“Huh? Where is that swindling old fart? How dared he forcibly place me into incognito mode? Hey, newborn what happened while I was asleep?” Glancing at Dam Son, Papyrus recognized an increasing calmness on his countenance. “Why are you smiling so stupidly? Are you that happy you got robbed by that geezer?”“You could say that.” Dam Son responded immediately. “I learned something special today from that elderly mister.”“Something special?” Papyrus was curious. “Like what, how to drink wine until your belly explode?”“No, he introduced me to, Natural Verb Force.”“Natural Verb Force?” Papyrus sounded shocked by this utterance. “How come I have no data regarding this mysterious Natural Verb Force? Are you sure th
A new dawn pronounced itself within Raixom Academy which commenced the ritual of Dam Son’s learning adventure. It hadn’t been long since his created existence, but he had learned a lot being in Vocabular. Due to his Avatar being a Dark-Human, he didn’t need to sleep much. Thus Dam Son spent most of his time practising how to conjure Natural Verb Force until daylight.Papyrus who was lying on a pressing board while having its seams straightened by a floating iron, got tired of watching Dam Son’s failure. “You’ve been practising that Verb Force thingy for 6-hours and 25-minutes now. Still, I don’t see anything manifesting. Just stop already, that swindling geezer obviously taught you a dud technique. I mean, even I haven’t heard of Natural Verb Force before and I’ve been around longer than most people.”“No, it is not a dud.” Dam Son refused to listen to Papyrus. He continued to rouse the opening of his inner Creative Word Compilation. “I did it once before. Was it because the geezer wa
“Moving on to our next lesson for the day, I will teach you the importance of having your own Library.” Ms Enjoy removed the previous script she had placed on the clear board, replacing it with another complicated diagram.“This is even more complex to decipher.” Dam Son thought after taking a brief overview of the script being displayed on his screen.Ms Enjoy gave her class an introduction to what a Library was and what it was used for. “In our previous lesson, I spoke about the importance of proper script activation. What I’m about to teach you is just as essential. For starters, let me demonstrate to you what a Library is?”Ms Enjoy summoned her precious Tome for all the members of her class to adorn. It was almost as tall as her slender-looking body, packed with thick lumps of Manuscripts. It exuded a cumbersome pressure that almost suffocated her students. She had to quickly vanish her Tome into incognito mode after ripping out a stable Papyrus for her demonstration.“Sorry if I
Over the course of the next 3 hours, Ms Enjoy taught her students how to create their personal Library. Every student in the class was typing the water surface as if it was some sort of intricate keyboard.Creating a Library was an essential topic for aspiring Word Masters. The first phase Ms Enjoy taught her students, was Greek Alpha Graph creation. Dam Son followed her instructions down to the salient points to craft his.A Greek Graph was a highly sophisticated diagram formed from a detailed play of words along with intricate patterns. The Arcane Bath helped to morph these fine prints into existence. Ms Enjoy gave each of her students a specific programming script for them to copy. She was also working along with them on the creation of a brand new Library Sheet. The first Graph Dam Son learned how to craft was a singular brown textured leaf. This was the fundamental canvas for the other Graphs to be printed on in order to create a stable Library Sheet. The procedure was similar to
