Chapter 60: Pollutant

Joe slipped into the ship through a small maintenance hole, wearing a mask. Darkness filled the lower deck as he moved quietly through the ship. The sound of the sea was muted here, replaced by the hum of the engines and the distant chatter of the crew.

He heard voices and footsteps approaching as he moved through the narrow passageways. He quickly ducked behind a stack of crates, holding his breath as two crew members passed, their conversation fading into the distance.
