Chapter 12: the demon you know is better than the one you don't know

I can't explain it, when you live a life thinking you're something you are not, feeling like you are a hero, fighting a war because you think you're doing it for justice, for the weak and all that bullshit. I just did it, I reminded myself who I am. I am the monster they think me to be, I don't know why, maybe because I liked it. All that time in a cage, I could've easily broken out of the cage. At least it gave me a chance to learn a lot about everyone, all their weaknesses. So yes I can just break out or I can play a little game and then fuck some people up.

My whole idea of what this place is, just changed. I'm not the victim anymore but the monster they think I am. Well they have no idea what truly I am. The last great beast, the only one strong enough to survive,  I waited a few hours, counted the seconds with the sound of the clock in the next room. Just for your information my room is supposed to be sound proof. These people don't really know anything about me even though they have studied me for so long. By now you would've thought that they had known I can hear through these sound proof walls. Makes me angry that fools like these are the ones keeping me locked up in a cage, well of course I could've gotten out already but I had my reasons to stay as long as I did. I at least hope the one that caught me in the first place will be the best of the best because otherwise I have no idea how they pulled that off. I waited for someone to come but no one came. I closed my eyes and waited  a few moments more. I thought I heard a bang or someone talking but after a while, everything went quiet.

The clock was quiet and not long after the lights went off and I lost my shit. It took me about three hours to break the door, well that's how long it felt... I realized that they bunkered the shit out of this place when I broke out, I was alone, no one was here... Just darkness...I walked for maybe an hour, when I finally saw daylight breaking through the cracks of a huge steel door. It took me a good few weeks to break it, when I finally did, I was exhausted. I fell on the ground to my knees. Just then I smelled fire, smoke and blood. I looked up and I saw it... A broken world, a city broken, fallen and on fire. I saw military things like tanks and medical tents in the streets. It looked like a big ass war. Well it was all over now, whoever these people were fighting, won. I walked for days eating and sleeping in the rubble.

I didn't see a soul... Just bodies and all the same. So whatever these people were fighting, it didn't lose one soul and they took their time breaking them. I smelled a few things that came from the old days. Then it all made sense when I saw them... my heart stopped.

To be continued.
