Mister Owens looks like he has seen a ghost, his jaw is on the ground.

Angus provided him with no information about Matilda, or her family, so Mister Owens didn't really make any connection.

He can't believe that Angus, his boss, is being led to the end of the table, close to the noise of the kitchen.

Mister Owens almost loses his manners and bows to Angus, but thanks God that he can hold himself.

"Sorry for my behavior, this young man looks like one of the young men I worked with years ago, but it can't be him because the boy in question died." He explains himself.
