“Joanna, are you sure that's something that you want to live with for the rest of your life?” Lorenzo chips in, but Angus hasn't said anything. “I have killed so many people, my only regret will be if I don't add her to the list.” Angus doesn't like Diane, he believes that she is just like her father. So, yes, he doesn't mind that Joanna wants her head. He will gladly give it to her on a silver platter. “Boss, you can't allow her to do this.” “Why, she is a grown woman. Joanna can do whatever she wants.” Angus says. Joanna gives Lorenzo a cold icy stare. Sometimes it's like their fights are like that of siblings, other times it's like it's flirtatious. “Excuse me, sir. I have to go to the bathroom.” She goes into the bathtub and shuts the door. Angus and Lorenzo look at themselves. “We will both keep our eyes on her, she won't be hurt like this again.” Angus stands up to his feet. “I have to head home, my wife will be worried by now.” “I will see you off, sir.” Lorenzo stops
Jade faints when she hears about the death of her father, she sees him off at his hotel, he was supposed to go to the airport. She had no idea that he didn't make it, that he was gunned down by some bad men on his way. Mister Moore calls the family doctor and she is brought back to consciousness. Jade is absolutely gutted, she screams, cries, wails, and gouges her eyes because she wants her father. He is the only relative she has, it's understandable that she is being destroyed by the death of her father. No one can calm her down, not even Byron, her husband. She cries and cries without any help. When Angus and Matilda go to her, Matilda can't help but break down in tears. She recalls how miserable her life has been since her mother died– her stepmom isn't a good mother figure – so she sympathizes with Jade on another level. She hugs Jade tightly as she consoles her, it works like a charm. Soon, Jade is no longer crying crazily, she is just sobbing quietly in Matilda's arms.
The burial ceremony of Mister Owens Declan Daniels is a very big deal in the country. Everyone is sad about the death of the acting CEO of the richest man in the country. The burial is so big that it's going to take place at the biggest auditorium in the state, it's also going to be attended by hundreds of delegates. Although attendance is not strictly by invitation, the delegates are to be seated in a VIP section. Somehow, Diane Salvador and Angus make it to the list. They are given IDs and led to sit with other people, governors, and Billionaires, from all over the world. Angus is seated behind him, like a bodyguard, no one knows what this meeting is about. Angus blinks as his heart feels with sadness, Jade and Byron come on the stage, quickly followed by the entire Moore family, except for Matilda. The hymns have been sung and the brown coffin is surrounded with brightly coloured flowers. The officiating minister consoles Jade as she is being handed the microphone. “Good
Angus goes back into his room and grabs his shirt. He puts it on as he looks around for anything that would serve as a weapon, but there is nothing. He wasn't given any guns when he was coming, this is already frustrating him. He is done with his shirt, now he goes back to the balcony. Each room has cubic balconies, which means that Diane's is right next to his. Angus steps on the railings, keeps his feet steady, and leaps to the other side. He lands with his knees bent but on his feet. He is in a hurry, the men are surely in the building already. Diane's slide door is shut, he sighs as he takes out a pin from his watch and starts to manipulate the lock. It clicks open on the first try, he immediately walks into the room. He enters the room and when he looks at the bed, she is not on it. Fuck, he hopes that she is not out of her room because it's going to be terrible timing for her. “Diane!” He says without moving around. She slowly steps out of the bathroom, with a gun in
Angus lowers the gun and puts his hand against his bleeding side. Ashley is so surprised by his presence, that she can't even move or say a word. He winces and that's when her senses kick in. She rushes over to him and looks down at his wound. “Oh my God, Angus, what have you done?” She asks with fear in her eyes. “I need your help, okay?” Angus says to her. Yes, Ashley ruined his life when he was married to her, and she treated him like shit, but she will definitely not sell them out to whoever wants to kill them. After he has informed her quickly of the situation, she goes to the front door and unlocks it. Diane is waiting patiently, her hands folded across her chest. Diane and Ashley hold eye contact for a while, but Ashley then widens the door and allows Diane to enter. “Angus, who is she?” Ashley asks. “A friend.” Angus sinks himself into her seat. Diane looks around the house, it's a big house. “She lives alone?” Diane asks. “Cos, I will kill her myself if any of tho
Joanna has returned to the state of Avalon, after being with Angus in Wintown for months now. Her flight was private, she was one in the plane, and they did not reach their destination till midnight. She gets out of the plane with her small luggage, holding her phone and wondering who she will call that won't be too bothered to come and pick her up. She looks ahead and sees Lorenzo leaning against a black Ferrari. It has just finished raining like twenty minutes back so the ground is wet and the place is kind of chilly. He tosses the extra cardigan in his hand to her and unlocks the door of the passenger seat. “Welcome home. Get in.” “Did you seriously come to the airport to pick me up in the middle of the night without any security?” She huffs. “Are you kidding me, Lorenzo? Have you forgotten what happened to Owens?” “You aren't even here for five minutes and you are already driving me nuts.” He complains. “Get into the damn car.” He takes her luggage and puts it in the bac
Angus is filled with so much rage that he doesn't even put a single drop of food in his mouth. Incredibly, he was able to hold his emotions until the plane touched down. He quickly makes arrangements for him to fly out of the state the same day, after he concludes his business with Diane Salvador. He doesn't change his clothes, he doesn't even drink water, he makes his way straight to the military headquarters. He needs answers and he wants to hear it straight from the mouths of the horses. How is it that El Salvador, the baddest Mafia leader has found its way into the good books of the country?! Why is he being given appointments with the government when every one of them knows that he is what they are fighting against? They almost brought him down, but Angus was the one who asked them to hold on because he was trying to get more evidence against him, and also get his revenge. With raging wrath, Angus walks into the military base. He is well known by even the youngest recruits
Even though Jeremy tries to stop them, it doesn't work. Against all odds, Diane and Matilda choose to still have the lunch, there is nothing that he can do. The women walk into a five-star restaurant and both of them are talking, laughing at their jokes. “I'm sure that Angus is so lucky to have you.” Diane smiles. “You are very beautiful, funny and you are even planning to open her own company.” “Well, I guess I am the lucky one.” Matilda gives a short laugh. “he loved me when no one really did.” A waiter comes to the table and drops an expensive bottle of wine in front of them, to the surprise of both women. “We didn't order this, are you sure you haven't made a mistake?” Diane asks with a cold face. “It's not a mistake, ma'am, the manager recognizes you as the daughter of Mister Salvador and he wants to give you a good welcome to our restaurant with that bottle of wine.” The waiter explains. “Oh, in that case, I guess it's ours.” Diane briefly reads the label before the boy
