Being A Hero

CHAPTER 8

“…the one who’s gonna finish this is coming… HERO”

Moza chuckles and replied sharply, “no, he won’t be able to”. Suddenly, they began to hear people murmuring; and then the murmurs gradually became shouts of joy, as the people stared at a figure above them; who is revealed to be ‘Hero’.

Moza saw him and grins, while Miss Awesome said inaudibly, “perfect timing”. Hero came down slowly and lands beside Miss Awesome,

“I’m glad you’re fine… I’ll leave him to you”, she said, while he smiles and replied, “thank you…”, then he faced Moza,

“Moza, time up, you’ve used up your time in the land of the living, that’s the first thing I’ve come to tell you, so you will die, second…”

Moza yells and boosted towards Hero; trying to punch him but Hero grabbed both of his hands and said, “… I’m not done talking”

He headbutted Moza, and punched him backwards which sent Moza breaking through houses and as he finally falls to the ground, Hero landed on him and continues, “second, you killed innocent people, you shall be judged according to My constitution…. Kill and be killed” He blasts Moza on the ground with fire balls and shot heat vision on Moza’s chest, making him groan in pain.

Hero held Moza’s leg and threw began to hit him on the ground repeatedly like he was weightless. He then threw Moza up high, and as Moza came falling involuntarily, Hero jumps, and caught him while mid-air, positioning Moza’s back on his shoulders while Moza was facing the sky.

Hero landed speedily with force that caused a shock wave, and a hole on the ground; Moza screams out loud as his backbone cracks. Hero dropped Moza on the ground and said, “you might have the same powers as I do, but there’s one thing I have that you don’t have… the faith of people in me, they believe I’m gonna save the city, they have hope, tell me, how many people in your world want you alive? Just your king and few subordinates, you are a failure to the creation”

Hero held Moza’s neck and raised him up slowly; choking him already and then Moza tried to stab Hero who quickly grabbed Moza’s hand and Moza immediately shot heat vision at Hero, making him free of his grip, then he landed a super punch on Hero chest which sent him skidding backwards, but he boosted towards Moza again and they both punched each other away.

Hero was up again but Moza was gone already, Hero said through the earphone, “everyone’s safe… for now”

(ROBERT LAB)

Mark was seated and feeling a little bit weak while Bethany, Mary, Kyle, Ronda, and Nesa were also there. Mary was overjoyed, “Ronda, since you’ve joined this team, you’ve always been saving the day, thanks to you, Mark’s alive”, she said. Bethany then added, “Ronda, thank you very much, if Mark had died, it would have been a great loss for the whole city, but a personal loss for us all”

Ronda smiles slightly, “I just had to try what I could”, she said. Nesa hums, and said, “I’m going to my world today, but I’ll be back”

“really? When you return, will you stay here forever?”, Kyle asked eagerly, but Nesa chuckles softly and replied, “depends on what happens” She hugged Kyle while Mark said, “alright, as for Johnny Tony, we will have to devise a different way to stop him, and this time, it’s gonna require patience… I’ll have to be patient”

Nesa brought out a small device from her pocket and clicked it which immediately made a portal appear right in front of her, Mary said to her, “good luck and come back soon”

“bye, it won’t take too long”, she replied, and went through the portal and then it disappeared. Bethany held Mark’s hand, and said to him, “hey, let’s go home”

(MARK’S HOUSE)

They both arrived at his house and switched on the lights, she was holding his hands and facing him with a smile on his face, Mark smiled back and asked, “this smile of yours is weird, you wanna yell me something?”

Bethany chuckled and replied, “yes I do” she moved closer to him while Mark asked, “and what is it?”

She looked into his eyes and answered “how would you feel if you knew you’d be a father soon?” Mark gasps in surprise; he was dumbfounded, and his mouth was left wide open with no words, “I’m pregnant”, she said smiling sheepishly. Mark’s expression changed to a naughty smile, and he pulled her closer to himself; putting his arms around her waist; kissing her in the process.

Ronda, Kyle and Mary were still at Robert Lab that night and Kyle was tuning the station, then he saw a live news which caught his attention,

“Photo Power Breaks Out Of Jail”

Mary and Ronda saw it too and they were surprised, Ronda exclaims, “how? How did he escape?”, Mary answered, “perhaps… it’s because we forgot to put Punisher behind bars, but Phantom wasn’t saved by them!”

Kyle replied, “maybe there’s something else going on, like another member”

Ronda replied “if Photo Power is out, he’s gonna start copying abilities again, and this time, it’d be harder to stop him cause It seems he already prepared for all these” Mary sighs deeply, and replied “or he might not need to copy any powers, the ones he copied before might still be in him”

“what do we do?”, Kyle asked, and Mary answered saying, “Mark should have gained enough natural strength by tomorrow, but tonight, I’ll have to contact someone, we have to stop him from getting to more people, if we don’t, we’re all gonna die”

(JOHNNY TONY’S HOUSE)

Johnny Tony was in his living room, with four businessmen, and guards were everywhere, he was having a meeting with the four men who work with him, and they were served snacks and tea. While one of them was speaking quietly, the door opened suddenly and a young man, putting on a long blue coat, and jeans trouser; he looked like Johnny Tony, and was approaching, he had a bag on his back and the businessmen were staring at him.

Johnny Tony smirks and said, “well, well, well… look who’s here, the prodigal brother”, the guy replies, “don’t call me brother, Johnny. Just call me Barry… I’m here for one thing, the Tony’s’ Company doesn’t belong to you, it belongs to me, and I’m here to take what belongs to me, and mind you… I came prepared, don’t try to pull some stupid tricks…”, everyone was quiet listening to what he had to say.

“… you have three options, hand over the company, and I’ll send you to another country to live a peaceful live. Second, take this case to court and along with it, I’ll reveal your core secrets, then you’ll end up behind bars forever while I become the owner, and lastly, try to assassinate me, and you’ll die, then I’ll take the company”

The businessmen looked terrified and Johnny scoffs and replied, “what if I fail to choose any of the three?”

Barry Tony answered sharply, and almost immediately, “you’ll lose your life, and the company too, think about it and give me a reply before next month”

Barry turned away and left, while Johnny Tony kept a fake smile on his face, while he was already covered in sweat; looks like he’s scared of someone.

(SUNSHINE CITY)

(ROBERT’S LAB)

Ben was back now and with him were Mark, Mary, Bethany, Kyle, and Ronda. Ronda was working on the computer, and Mark asked, “it’s been a while now and Moza hasn’t shown up, even Nesa isn’t back”

“and I’m thinking Moza went back already and she’s in danger”, Kyle said worriedly, while Mary replies, “I hope that isn’t the case, if it is, then we should start preparing for war”. Ben said, “the battle hasn’t ended… it could be that he’s given up”

.

Bethany replied, “what if he’s still here on earth getting prepared?”

“that’s why we need to find him”, Ronda answered. Mark sighs and said, “alright, I’m gonna look for him everywhere I can”, Mary replies sharply, “I’m coming with you”. Mark retorted back sharply, “no, stay here” Bethany smiles and said, “let her go with you, find him and end this”.

Johnny Tony was with Dr. Elias inside a laboratory, Johnny asked looking worried, “the pills?”. Elias sighs and replied, “oh yes, I have completed some of them, but we just need to test run it on animals first, to see how it reacts”. Johnny smiled, and replied, “good, now we’ll see who’s gonna get in my way… gather my men, I need to speak to them now”

Hero and Miss Awesome were in public and the people were murmuring as they saw them. Hero said to Miss Awesome, “we’ve searched everywhere we can, but Moza isn’t anywhere”. Miss Awesome exhales sharply,

“and he might just come out of nowhere now”

Immediately, they saw Moza up in the sky, coming down speedily; Hero smirks. Moza slowed down and landed slowly; on seeing him, the people moved away. Moza said to Hero, “you were desperately looking for me…”

“yes, and you came here yourself, where have you been?”, Hero asked, while Moza answered, “preparing, somewhere”

Miss Awesome yells, “we’ve come to end this battle, right here, right now”, Moza replied immediately, “good, I’m taking both of your heads to Hulton”.

“not happening”, Hero smirked dismissively.

He instantly shot heat vision from his eyes at Moza, but Moza reacted quickly by shooting heat vision from his eyes which clashed with Hero’s heat vision, Miss Awesome blew Moza backwards, but he was moving forward towards them; each step he took leaving cracks on the ground.

Hero jumped towards Moza and landed a punch on his chest which sent Moza flying backwards and hitting his back on a building. Hero came at him again and was about to punch him once again, but Moza ducks and punched Hero instead with fire in his hand.

Moza sent a blast of fireball at Miss Awesome but she disappeared as the fire hits fog and passed through it; she appeared beside Moza and punched him, and as he tried to hit her back but she ducked and kicked his arm, and again punched him. Miss Awesome said with a smile on her face, “you lose”

Hero picked up Moza and threw him up in the sky, then he also jumped speedily as wind blew; delivering a super punch on Moza while mid-air, pushing him higher into the sky. Hero landed and Moza came down falling on the ground as the ground shook, and a crater was left on the floor.

Hero grabbed Moza’s leg and threw him at a wall angrily, then he yelled, “I’ll put an end to your life now”. Hero blasted Moza with fire, and grabbed Moza’s neck. Moza said as Hero raised him up with one hand, “you can’t… kill me”

Hero was about to shoot heat vision from his eyes, but Moza stabbed him with a knife which pierced through him. It was the same type of black dagger which he brought from Hulton.

Hero let go of him and Moza punched Hero to the ground. Miss Awesome blew Moza backwards, but he boosted towards her and punched her back causing her to fall and roll twice on the floor.

Hero got up again saying as he held on to his stomach, “that won’t be enough to put me down”

Moza flew up and Hero followed, then they flew towards each other; they punched each other so hard, but Moza was thrown backwards falling to the ground, but Hero stood his position. Hero came down speedily and landed on Moza’s back, Moza yells in pain and Hero shot heat vision on Moza’s back; dragged his arms backwards.

Suddenly, a portal appeared right in front of them and through the portal came Nesa and two big guys dressed like Hulton royal guards in black metal armors and helmets. Nesa yelled, “Hero, leave him to us, he will be sentenced on Hulton”

Miss Awesome was up already and she said, “yes, that’s right, you can take him”

“no, I’m gonna kill him now”, Hero grins

.

Nesa replied, “I understand you, but don’t get blood on your hands, hand him over and he’ll be jailed for a while, then killed thereafter, my brother is now king of Hulton, we have won the battle”. Hero sighs and agreed, “fine…”

He dropped Moza’s hands and the two guards walked to him and picked him up from the ground. Nesa said to them, “you can leave, I’m staying here for a while” The two guards left with Moza and the portal disappeared while Miss Awesome said to Nesa, “nice outfit, welcome back” Nesa rushed to hug her while she replied, “yeah, the battle’s over now”.

Hero replied, “yes, it’s over, but for me, another one’s about to begin”

(ROBERT’S LAB)

They were back already and all together and back to casual outfits, Mark was speaking,

“now, Moza’s gone, the city is safe, but we are not safe yet. We’ve protected the city, now we have to protect the ones around us, cause Johnny Tony will try to hurt anyone he can get to”, Mary quickly added, “you’re right, Johnny has to be taken down before he makes his move”

Ben sighs and said, “well, both correct, but for today, let’s just celebrate” Kyle replied with a smile, “nailed it”. Bethany chuckles while Nesa said to them, “I have something to tell you all… I returned to my world, but I came back with something”

“what is that? A gift?”, Kyle asked curiously, but Nesa replied, “no, I came back with superpowers passed down to me by my grandmother”. Ronda asked immediately, “wow… so what are your powers?”

Nesa smiled and replied, “I’ll show you”

She suddenly changed to Hero and they were surprised. Ben exclaimed, “impossible”. Nesa in Mark’s form replied, “well, it doesn’t end there…” she stretched her hand forward for them to see and fire generated from her palm. She transformed again to Mary and blew a book away with wind, and finally she transformed to her true form; Nesa.

.

“so, you can transform to a person and possess their abilities?”, mark asked. Nesa answered, “yes, but not as strong as them nor as powerful as they are… and it’s only people I’ve seen”

Ronda asked, “so you’re gonna be a superhero here?” Nesa answered “maybe or maybe not, I’m thinking of returning to my world to protect the throne”

“oh really?”, Kyle asked, as his expression showed sadness. Mary replies, “that’d be great, but we’re gonna miss you”. Ben nodded while Nesa replies, “I know, but I’m gonna stay here for a while before I return”.

Mark clears his throat, “okay, as Ben said, now let’s celebrate”, he said as he chuckles, and they all laughed.
