A Wager

Benjamin hissed like a snake, "No, Nathan. This slap won't be the second time."

Nathan looked at him tremblingly. "What are you doing?"

Benjamin remained standing tall, his demeanor composed. He smiled ever so slightly as he spoke, "You publicly demean your girlfriend's pride, and when she reacts with anger, your response is to resort to violence. As a man, I'm more ashamed of your attitude than anything else."

Nathan exerted all his strength to free his arm from Benjamin's vice-like grip, akin to the grasp of a hawk. Yet, no matter how much force he applied, it made no difference.

Now, the man just realized that Benjamin possessed a greater hidden power than he thought.

Earlier when they met at the entrance of the Timeless House Center, Nathan had punched Benjamin in the face with everything he had, but instead, he felt like he had punched hard concrete. His hand was crushed and temporarily paralyzed.
