Upon hearing those words, Edwin staggered backward, his countenance a mix of shock and disbelief, as if trying to deny the reality of the situation.

He shook his head vehemently. “No. No, this can’t be happening.”

Devon regarded him with a tilted head, a sly smirk playing on his lips as he questioned, “What’s so unbelievable, Edwin? You wanted a position at Golden Tower, and here it is.”

Edwin’s glare at Devon was so intense that if looks could kill, Devon would have been six feet under. “This is not what I wanted, you son of a bitch!! Are you all playing some sick joke on me?! Why in the world would Travis assign me to such a menial role when I held the position of Assistant General Manager at Golden Tower?! Absolutely not! This is unacceptable!”

“It’s an order from higher up, Edwin. Now, the choice is yours: accept it or reject it,” Devon replied coolly, offering him a form.
