A day’s worth of exploration. That’s what Zeke took to clear out the missing parts of his minimap. It’s a dangerous task with a lot of risks involved. He encountered kobolds which, are basically stronger versions of goblins. He also fought against sprites – monsters of pure element which made it tricky for him to actually hit them.
Yet even with all the difficulties he encountered against these said opponents, he still managed to win every time. That’s right, no matter who, or what, he faced, Zeke is able to win within that day. Something which he didn’t allow to get into his head. Instead, he continued pathing to finish this new mission that’s been given to him. The mission of making sure that he finds the base of the ogres.“Where are they supposed to be? There aren’t even clues left in the mission.” Zeke complained. “Did a retard make this quest or something?”The only logical thing that Zeke can think of is that the base of these ogres should be nearby to where he is. Tha’s the only logical reason as to why a quest related to the said monsters would be linked to him. If it isn’t that, then he’s right in what he initially thought. That it is a retard that designed these quests. That being said, it reached nighttime already. Zeke still hasn’t found his goal. That being said, even before it could get dark outside, Zeke decided to find a safe spot where he can camp for the night. A spot that’s properly hidden and has good defense in case he gets attacked. He isn’t opening any sort of light which makes it hard to navigate but, that’s okay. He isn’t stupid. He knows that it’s safer to do this than to actually open the lights. Doing so, after all, would cause him to reveal his location. And since he doesn’t know what kind of beasts and monsters lurk in this forest, he thought it best to not open any light at all.Besides, there’s no need for it. Zeke doesn’t need to cook food because he’s already got that covered by the goblins and their supplies. He’s able to find a couple of fruits on their containers. This is the only thing he touched and he didn’t dare eat the meat, thinking that there might be a bad reaction that it’d make on his body.Zeke’s also able to get a piece of cloth from the said items of the goblins. One that’s good for a blanket. Hence, he really doesn’t need a campfire for anything. Not at all. Zeke’s secure as far as this is concerned. He’s remained as careful and as stealthy as possible. That’s why he’s surprised as heavy footsteps moved towards him.
“What the hell?” He muttered as he got his stuff. He’s already tired from the days’ worth of moving around and searching for the ogres. Now all he wants to do is rest. But even that seems to be something he can’t have. Not until he takes care of whatever it is that’s causing the noise. The place that Zeke is hiding in is inside a thick trunk of a tree that has a hole on the base. This is large enough for a person to fit inside comfortably which is what Zeke is doing. But now, he has to get out quickly because the footsteps are getting nearer and nearer. He has the option of simply hiding inside the trunk but, that’s not a good option. If the enemies know where he is, then he would be stuck there – free to be attacked by the monsters however they like. This means that it’s the worst place to be in.He scurried to get out as quickly as he could. And as soon as he’s out, all the trees got hacked away. In the span of three seconds, the large number of trees where Zeke placed himself in got destroyed. Leaving no room for him to hide in anymore. This is followed by flames spreading across the whole of the area. Creating a ring which prevented any form of escape as well as providing illumination. Revealing Zeke, as well as those that he’s up against – five ogres. Each of these creatures stand at a solid six-foot-one in height. Their bodies are bulky and muscular, as wlel as filled with tattoos all around. They have the facial features of a human that’s mixed with a pig and, they have long hairs tied to variations of braids.
Two wields double axes. Two others wield boomerangs. Then the one at the very back of the group has a staff with him – suggesting that the last ogre is a spellcaster of some kind.“That’s not good.” These are the first words that came out of Zeke’s lips as the ogres began to chant spells against him. Two of these ran towards him without a second thought while two others remained to guard the last one behind. This easily confirmed who the boss of the group is – though Zeke can’t get to that one yet.
“I have to deal with you guys first.” Zeke took out two daggers from his inventory and, proceeded to run away from the assaulting ogres. He doesn’t know what these creatures are fully capable of yet. What he does know is that they’re capable of easily taking down a whole group of trees with little effort. As well as set the forest ablaze just to kill him. And those are good indicators that, these aren’t monsters that Zeke can’t kill through normal means.
“Let’s get you guys nice and lined up first okay?” Zeke said continuing to run as he’s chased after by the two other ogres. They soon caught up to him. It didn’t even take them ten seconds worth their time to close the gap and, as they did this, they swung their axes down on him – catching nothing but air.Zeke used a bluff. A good one at that. The monsters may be superior to him in strength and every other aspect but, when it comes to speed, he’s confident he can win. That’s why he used only half his speed earlier to fake the monsters and to assess how quick they are.
As soon as he got what he needed, he proceeded to speeding up to full. Getting behind his targets and stabbing them both. He first threw a dagger imbued with his full [Sure Hit], taking out one of the eyes of one ogre and then he proceeded to drawing a dagger to compensate for what he just released.Zeke then sliced through the legs of these two large creatures. Making them fall to their knees. He wanted to go for the kill but, even before he could attempt any lethal attack, the two tried to grab him. Forcing him to back away. As he did, he is chased after by a fireball that is sent from the backlines.Zeke noticed this right away because of how obvious it is in the dead of night. He easily avoided the strike from the caster that’s sitting comfortably behind. Then the fireball exploded.Zeke’s eyes slowly adjusted back to normal. He can feel his whole world spinning and a ringing is left in his ears. Then came the tremors on the earth beneath him. Getting stronger by the second…tremors…TREMORS! Zeke’s senses came back sharply – making him move his body to the side just in the nick of time as an axe found its way digging deep into the soil where he was a couple of seconds ago. He should already be dead. But through some stroke of luck, he’s able to regain his senses just before his body’s cleaved in two.But he can’t rely on luck to get him through this fight. In fact, if there’s one thing that he can’t rely on for this fight, it’s this very variable. That’s why he needs to think of a way to win. Fast. Because as far as he can tell, he’s being played by the monsters he needs to defeat.“You guys are starting to piss me off you know that?” Zeke said as he got two more daggers from his inventory. If there’s one thing that makes matters worse, it’s that one of the two
A crimson-colored room. Scarlet curtains, a red rag with golden linings. Acid black chairs that are finely hand crafted, and cushioned by velvet seats and back rests. These are only some of the things that Zeke Elwood saw when his consciousness returned to him. He can’t remember much. That is the truth. He knows that he’s been fighting against a great ogre after killing off all of the monster’s subordinates but, other than that, he can’t remember anything else. There is a big haze covering up the remainder of what he needs to pick up. Though one thing is certain, he’s now safe from any danger…for now.“Congratulations!” The voice suddenly made Zeke jump up and look at the direction where the voice came from. He could’ve sworn he’s the only person in that room. Yet there he is, looking at another individual that is there, in the flesh, just like him. A tall and slender man with a predominantly black blazer, with bits of crimson red being added to it. This is the first thing that Zeke
Zeke’s consciousness didn’t fade completely. In fact, it remained in tact before it glitched out for five seconds. When it returned to him, he’s no longer in the crimson room where he talked with the god of the forge. No. Zeke is now in the complete opposite of this room. He’s in a completely empty space. There is nothing inside of it. Though Zeke is sure that it exists because, he can still move his body. To a limited extent that is since he seems to be going on a downward path. Evident by the way the breeze is hitting the back of his body more and, evident in the way that he can feel gravity pulling him down. This feels odd and uncalled for. Unless there’s something he needs to do in this place, then it would be better for him to just have been thrown straight towards the kingdom he’d be affiliated with. Thankfully, there is a purpose for him being caught in that state and, this came out right in that second.[Hello master.][I am your system. I will be your guide and helper throug
The sound of metal being hammered down spread across the four corners of the poorly lit room. Each strike resonated with the silhouette formed by the forge fire. Flames that are strong enough to burn those that have not been trained in the art of crafting weapons and armors. Within this space, there is a single person. A broad-shouldered man who has his long white hair tied to a bun. His eyes fixed on nothing else but his craft and on the repetitive hammering of the metal that lay before him. Heated to a point that it would seem like it holds magic. Yet it doesn’t. Not yet.The focus of the blacksmith that’s making the weapon seem to be scared. Something that nobody should ever invade until the hammering of steel is finished. Then, and only then, can a person speak. And that is precisely what happened as soon as the glowing metal is placed on water.“My lord.” A female voice said coming from the entrance of the room.“You have five minutes.” The blacksmith replied, not taking his eye
It is one in the morning. The sky is still filled with the night’s darkness. It would take a couple more hours before the two suns of Ragna rise over the horizon. The orange and the yellow ones that bring light and energy to this world. But before that can come to pass, there is the stillness of the night.Within the castle of the king, there is but a single light that is lit. Not on the chambers of the lord of this kingdom, nor is it on any of the quarters of the servants. Instead, the light is opened on the library of the castle. A large room filled with a multitude of books. And the one who is eagerly reading through a large pile on his table is none other than Zeke Elwood himself. He arrived in Forge Kingdom in the afternoon. He then followed his arrival with a well-deserved rest before being called for supper. Zeke gladly had his fill of the food which, wasn’t even that much for a feast. He can see that much effort has been placed into preparing the meal but, it doesn’t feel like
The following day, Sylvia woke up with a very bad headache. Nobody can blame her because, she did go through something very excruciating earlier that day. Specifically, the encounter with the hero of her kingdom, Zeke Elwood. She didn’t want to reveal the impoverished state of Forge. At least not yet. She knows that it’s difficult to hide but, she expected that it would at least take a couple of days before the hero pieces together the facts. But that’s not what happened. Unfortunately, Zeke found out within a day and, now, she has to think of ways on how to get the hero to be more appreciative of the kingdom.“This is it Sylvia.” She muttered to herself. “We finally have our own hero. We can’t afford to fuck this up.”She wanted to start the day by having the throne room inspected. After that, it’ll be cleaned by the maids. She doesn’t know why she hasn’t thought of this before. It’s such a simple concept after all. The throne room needs to always be presentable because, nobody knows
[Main Quest – Defeat the Demon Lord] This is the thing that’s displayed in Zeke’s screen. To be completely honest, he thinks that it is only right that this is called the main quest. But in games, there’s definitely other main quests that lead to the final one. Things that will move him closer to getting strong enough to face an entity as powerful as a demon lord. But that’s not happening. Instead, what he has are a multitude of side quests. A bunch of them that’s lined up for the same purpose that he mentioned. To make him strong enough to face the demon lord and, these are some of them. [Restore Economy of the Forge Kingdom] [Restore Military Prowess of the Forge Kingdom] [Restore the Dignity of the King of the Forge Kingdom] Basically, most of the quests that he has are on a scale that he has to help the Forge kingdom in some way. There are some that are an exception but, the thing is, if he wants efficiency more than anything else, then he has to begin with the quests
Before the night of Zeke’s first fight against the goblins. He first continued the discussion he’s having with Sylvia. One that had a space made after Zeke stated his job class. After he said that he is a Blacksmith Assassin. A statement that has now left Sylvia in a state that can only be described as being dumbfounded.“My lord, I think I didn’t hear you right. Did you just say that you’re a…”“A Blacksmith.” Zeke repeated, not even letting the dark elf finish with whatever it was that she was planning to say. And, he even added to be more precise. “An Assassin Blacksmith. That is my job class.”Zeke knows that, in this world, it is difficult to get your secondary job class. There are specific requirements that first needs to be fulfilled before one can claim this after all. In fact, it is so difficult to gain a secondary job class that the number of them within a kingdom won’t even go beyond a hundred. That is how rare they are.But Zeke’s already past all of that. He’s past the no
