And as it did, the whole space about him flickered, rewarded by a gasp from Lekan's mouth and a widening of his eyes.
Startled, Lekan drew back, his eyes wide as he began to breath rather rapidly, panic beginning to surge through his whole body. He placed his hands against the wooden surface of the door, trying to feel for anything... just anything that could make him feel a bit more confident that he found something. But he found nothing, much to the increment of his worry and panic.
His chest heaved quickly, his breaths becoming ragged and rapid with each passing second. Adrenaline pumped into his body as he scrambled his legs seeing as the room, his bedroom began to get eaten up by the strange reality creeping into his space.
"No... no, what is this?" Lekan gasped, blinking his eyes now. "What is this... aaaghh!"
He groaned, bending his head and shaking it slowly and painfully as he gritted his teeth. As he groaned out, he could not help shake the feeling of familiarity that soared through his body about what was happening.
It was almost as if this particular scene had presorted himself some how. But he could not place it. And the fact that he did was unable to place it made his head ache and his heart throb with pain. Pain that he knew what was happening but yet could not understand how he was living through it again.
After grimacing for a few more minutes, he painstakingly lifted his head, slowly. With his teeth bared, he looked up to the center of the room watching as how the whole room had changed in that moment when he had kept his head down.
Something liquid played at his fingers and he looked down, a gasp escaping his mouth at what he saw. He was sitting in a pool of blood, everywhere about him soaked and filled with blood. It was a blood bath.
And right at the center of the room was a lady in a long gown, cackling as she laughed about like some maniac. And as he looked at her, she seemed to be the one who was capable of wrecking this havoc about. From the way he saw her, she seemed to be some sort of villain who would be rejoicing after destroying the protagonist in a story or something.
Watching her rejoice made his blood boil. The fact that the whole landscape was changed to that of an area that had been ridden by wars and bombs did not baffle him at all.
Instinctively, he bared his teeth, squeezing his face in anger as he watched the lady rejoice.
First, he was angry that she would cause all of this. Secondly, he boiled because this woman had the guts to come down here, in his room and was rejoicing over something as senseless as that. His muscles ached and trembled, strength from nowhere surging into his body as he jerked his head up with a guttural growl.
The Lady figure looked at him now and smiled, her eyes calling out to him. Seeing that, Lekan began to lift himself up, his hands pushing his body up while he leaned forward as if he was just about to spring forward.
The lady laughed and Lekan growled, jerking forward only for...
KNOCK... KNOCK... KNOCK...
Lekan blinked, hearing another series of knocks resounded on his door. He almost wanted to ignore the knocks, ruling out whoever was knocking to be his Uncle.
And right now, that mister was the last person he wanted to see. However, he frowned and looked back at the door. Over his shoulder noticing something he had not noticed from before.
This time, the knocks were gentler. Almost as if the one who was walking did not really want to knock but just had to do it because the person wanted to see him. Or something like that.
"Hi, Lekan. It's me. and I understand if you don't want to open the door for me to come in."
Lekan swallowed as he heard the voice call to him. It sounded feminine, a confirmation to him that it was not his Uncle who was knocking. In that space of time, the room reverted back, the vision of the lady rejoicing and the war torn city, all vanishing.
He eased his face off the frown as he got to his feet, wondering who it was. If it was not his Uncle Desmond, then who could it be? Lekan reasoned.
He dusted his hands now and cleared the ring and the envelope. Placing it on the topmost layer of the book shelf to his left and then sighed to himself after watching himself in the mirror.
He rubbed his eyes with his knuckles and then heaved out one more time before shaking his head and turning to the door.
"It's me, Blessing." Lekan rested his head against the door now, placing his right hand on the door handle. "And... I was thinking you would not want any one around you but then again..." Blessing's voice broke now, becoming rather emotional. "I couldn't just bear it with myself to stay away from you in these times."
She sniffed from the other side of the door.
"I miss you Leh..." Another sniff sounded off. "And I just cannot wait to see you. Please don't do this to yourself. Don't shut the world away from you, okay?"
There was a pause form outside the door, so silent that Lekan could swear he could hear the sobs and the heavy breaths from Blessing. And in a way, it made him feel all so guilty, making his eyes tear up as well.
"I understand if you still won't come out. So, I would take my leave now. Just... J-jisy be good. I really miss you, Leh!" Blessing sobbed out one more time.
Running footsteps resounded, alerting Lekan to the fact that she was running and crying away. Guilt stricken, Lekan sighed heavy, shaking his head as he turned the lock.
The door gave way instantly and out came the stale air. In that same time, the one who was running stopped, as her footsteps slowly halted. It took a while, Lekan standing in the room with his hand still on the lock while not stepping out or saying a word to Blessing. However, to Blessing, it was all the invitation she needed as her footsteps began to sound even closer with the passing seconds.
And once it was only but a few more steps, Lekan could hear the increased pacing as she ran. Running back to his room.
"Ah..." Lekan winced as the girl dashed into he to and wrapped her hands around his waist, sobbing into his chest.
"Lehhhhhhhhhhhhh..." She cried out, her saddened sob echoing through the room.
"Uh??" Lekan frowned, looking at the grill who was hugging him from the top of her hair.
He was just a little taller than her but he was slimmer. Blessing had more flesh than he did. Even so, by the pose they struck up now, he looked like a big brother, patting the head of a sister despite the fact that he was the one who lost his parents and not her.
"Geez, Bles... I'm the one mourning here. Why you so much of a crybaby?" Lekan chided.

Why you so much of a crybaby?" Lekan chided.Blessing did not say a word or two about that. Rather than protest the words, she snuggled in closer to him, wrapping her hands around his body and tighter like she was not ever going to let go of him. It had been a while and true to her words, she really missed him.Lekan himself could not bear to bring himself to deny her of the hug that she was engaging in. After all, he himself could tell that he was beginning to get used to her presence now, after being gone for as long for so long.He schooled in a boarding school while his friend attended a close by school. She was a day student and the only time when they did get to see , usually, was when he
Holding it to her face, she read out the line on it, worry lines popping out all over. \ "I don't get this. Is this some kind of joke?" She asked, examining the note in her hand. Curiously, she looked to the back of it but saw nothing of note there. Not even a squiggle or something. It was all empty and then it portrayed to her that the meaning was as vague and empty as the back of the note. It just did not add up, no matter how she looked at it. A ring from the dead father and then it had a note, something like a user instruction, speaking of power? Was this some kind of fairy tale where there was an inheritance of power passed from parents to children? She reasoned, she had read many fictional books but then she had not imagined that she would come across anything like this in her wildest dream. Master the power? Was what was written but it did not make sense. Master what power for what? What power could be kept in a ring like this? It did not even have the quality to be somet
For a moment or two, the room was silent. The only persistent sounds being Lekan's slow breathing and the confused panicked breaths for Blessing. It continued for s long as long as could be and if what happened had not happened, it would have been the most magical. However, a strange occurrence had happened, none of them could therefore sense the magic in the air It was alien to them, their minds pounding with all sorts of fear and thoughts. Lekan could just barely stabilize himself now. What he had seen, he could make no sense out of it. What was it? It was startling or maybe it was because of the fact that he had been mourning his parents. Perhaps, that had to be it for he could not understand what that visage was. Blessing would never slap him so then why was that? He did not want to think that there was really anything that was beyond the physical in the room. He did not even want to think that way because he was not sure. But still, he could not just override the thought t
"What….. You think you can just come and hug me to death…" Lekan winked. "Hell, no, I will tickle you to the beyond. Muhhahahahah!" Blessing laughed. A cheery one. Then pushed and kicked. Lekan followed, using his hands to wedge off her legs in an attempt to gain on her. A wild smile on his face as he worked with his hands. The issues of the time before totally forgotten. At least, for now. "Okay, okay... stop, stoppppp..." Blessing laughed, shaking her arms and her legs in a fit of laughter. Lekan did ease up now as he saw how she vibrated. He leaned backwards and she jerked then, shaking her head as she kept on laughing. "No... no... hahahah... " Blessing laughed. "Stoppppp." "I didn't do anything now, did I?" Lekan replied with an ear to ear grin on his face. "I was only leaving you alone." He laughed at her. "who knew you're such a scaredy cat?" "Heheh... it's not that!" Blessing disagreed. She hugged her legs with a coy smile on her face. "Its just... I don't trust you,
The gate to house opened just then as a man wearing ashgray trousers, black sneakers and a white vest stepped in. The gate was black and towering, having a fence topped by electric wiring with a notification that read 'stay away; high voltage' His hair was short, black in color and seemed to be a bit dishevelled at the moment. Opening the pedestrian door a bit longer now, a lady wearing some skimpy gown of yellow stepped in, wearing an amused smile on her face. She had cornrows on her head, the color being black and yellow. She had her complexion to be tanned and a mole just below her left eye. The gown which she had on was spaghetti in style, two crossing strands of material which looped at back of her neck and then a set of those material threads looping at the back two. The length of the gown was just by her hips side and on her feet, she had high robed gladiator sandals of brown color, holding a purse of yellow close to her body with the left hand. She put a hand forward, that
"what's happening?" Dorothy said, looking back at him. "I'm coming... Just need to check on something " He said and then raced his way forward to where the sounds of sobbing were coming from. First things first, Desmond sighed to himself, he had to make sure that everything was alright. He was been worried about the one who he had to take into guidance now. While it was understandable that the boy had lost his parents and thus would be have fits such as this, he was really worried that he may have let that get to the person who had come in to visit. When he was leaving the house, earlier, he had been frustrated. It was not too long since he had to leave his own house and his own life to come here, in the status of a guardian to the son of his late brother. It was not long enough and so, it was normal that people would be watching him. After all, he had been the brother who had not been seen around the family since the time that his brother had decided to cut ties with him. Based o
Lekan whistled as he moved from the ironing table to the wardrobe now. It was just some hours since Blessing had left. Actually, it was another another day, although with the difference of not more than 12 hours in between. Compared to other times, his mood was improved now. He moved to the wardrobe and whistled, putting a finger to his lips as he paused, trying to remember what he had wanted to get in the first place. Shirtless with only a pair of trousers, black on his lower half, Lekan nodded his head harmoniously to the rhythm of the music booming out from the mini music player speaker which was on the table. As if lit by inspiration, he opened the two doors of the wardrobe and then pulled out a shirt from the one with the hanger compartment. He held the shirt and then looked at the vintage styled design of it for a few moments. And after he was done with the observation, his head still nodding to the boom of music, he tossed it to the Queen Sized bed which was behind him. After
“Ha!” The girl in the black jumpsuit roared as her feet bounced off the ground. Landing a few steps to the right, she smiled, her white skin reflecting the light and warmth. It revealed the radiance in the heart of this young girl. She held her two hands in front of her. Her blonde hair wafting softly from side to side even as the wind teased it. Her feet were placed, the right in front while the left was placed behind it. Just a little bit. “How long do you think you can really hold out against me? I am the Queen of the Combat Facility.” She smirked. The person whom she was speaking to frowned, his bushy eyebrows knitting closely at his forehead. He breathed hard, fisting his hands as he stared daggers at her, unmoving while his eyes loooked left and right. The place where the two combatants stood was one of a kind. It was a circular platform which had just three pillars at adjacent ends. The ground was lined with circular carvings. And right at the center of it was the insig
His vision was not like this. The future had changed. Lekan realized that now as he stood with the Mana blockers in tow. He locked eyes with Blesing who continued with her spell, unbothered by the fact that he was hee. And the strange creature of a woman that he had grown to be familiar with, in the red flowing gowns seemed to be urging her on. Whatever Blessing was doing, the woman in the red flowing gown seemed to need it quite urgently. He could not shake off the bad feeling about it. And the sensation that's why was his opponent. The feeling that he had had to fight her in a distant future. A future which a snow repeating itself for him, His vision waived now. The things he saw changed in a blink. In this time, he saw himself on the ground and a council which held over his head. They deliberated one thing about him and how to ensure that the timeline changed. {See the prologue} It felt very familiar to him. And this time, Lekan could not deny that this happened. Understand
Lekan got out of the building. Frost things first, he would get to make sure that blessing was alright, then he would make sure that the Bureau was set right. He did not want to run. Not away from it. He had been running for far too long and look what that led him to? What if as I ran away, more things started to happen to innocent people? People like Keder, the Bureau stealing her life and youth from her. The anger started to boil in him that he did not know when he started to run towards Blessing. The latter continued her spell as more and more mana started getting sucked into it. ‘ Just then, two people landed down from a building. One Of them having purple tattoos on her back faded off into nothingness. While the other one pumped his legs towards Lekan. Itw as Frank and Lekan. In no time, Frank caught up with Lekan and with strong hands, he hoisted him from behind. “What?” Lekan gasped out. His arms locked up from behind his back.. By the time he turned backwards, he
Just like it started, in the suddenness of the day, it ended. Relief swept across the ranks of the system bureau in one accord. They could all sit back and take in gasps of air. They had one priority while trying to ascertain what they were up against. They Had one thing which they had to do. And thaw was what they carried out all diligently. The safety of those who weep with them. THose who did not know what it meant to be system holders as they could not effectively fight back. Those who needed to be helped just because they did not have a system to start with. This was the priority of the higher ups in the actions. Only fighting back when they had no chance. All hope had been cast on monsieur Dayo and the actions he had been doing at the Research Facility. The research which had kept him busy back then, the same thing which had made him invulnerable to any threat which came from the council towards his being. It was in this moment that he would prove his mettle and hsi wor
She saw him. This was not like the threat that they had just faced down but it was still a threat for them. She glinted in anger as she started to run now. Ignoring the call of the other girls as they realized that the other demon had vanished as well. Thai was not their fight, at least, until they received further instructions from Monsieur Dayo on what to do next. His body scaled through the broken down side of the walling of the class snow. With her body still in drive now, she drove her hands to the stomach part of the demon. With quick succession ,she dealt multiple mana blocking blows there and then. The diamond screeched and the result was concluded immediately. It fell down with a thump as it revealed her to the people in the classroom now. And to the one she was looking to see. ‘Lekan!” Blessing called out with excitement in her face. “Blessing?” Lekan turned around with surprise in his eyes. He was hardly taken aback with many things. He knew that something would
Earlier on…. When he got the summon from Monsieur Demas, Dayo knew it was pretty serious. It wasn't something to be taken lightly. Especially when they had just crossed a milestone now. The unveiling of the Bureau would just be out there. This would be a major setback, if they did not handle it well. And so, he let go of the grudge he had with Monsieur Demas. After all, beyond their conflict and personal interest, they still had a duty to the System Bureau. They had to fly its flag and answer the summons against anything which was out there to bring it devastation and destruction. And this summon was just one of them. He braced for combat., literally. Donning his costume as what they knew of him as The Switch. He had to be ready for just anything and that included what he wore. This time, things would be different, Msnier Dayo said to himself even as they poured into the System Bureau. They would not have to depend on him alone in the combat of whatever they had to face. This
His words brought courage to all of them. Even Lekan himself could not help but feel fired over the words that he spoke. Perhaps, now, the perspective n of Donald by the people of his special class would change now. Change for the better, no doubt. The demon lady is frustrated. She shook her head, stomping her legs as her four arms slapped down on her waist now. “ Oh No! I hate this. Don't you play tricks o0n me>” he growled out as the decoy which she held in her hands now faded into nothingness. It was not the prey she wanted. And it infuriated her. “wEe need space.” Donald mentioned now. “Helen, your turn.” he called out. Immediately Helens dropped down to the ground. She slapped her hands flat out on the floor and then with a chant, her eyes went dark. All blacked out. “Shadow domain.” Dark circles appeared on the ground. They grew instantly with the demon lady with in the center of it now. The circles expanded instantly, merging into one gigantic black shimmering cir
The moment he got to know about the invasion of demons in this place; the first thing he did was to find a way to reach Leslie. He pretty much was trying to find his way about things in this place. And the only one who had shown the willingness to show his way around was none other than Leslie. Frank heaved as he held his right arm. It has healed over the time since the last time he had to get physical with anybody. And thankfully, there had been no cause for him to get involved with any fight. That is, he assumed Lee Min must have learnt his humility and then stayed to himself afterwards. He smiled to himself over this thought now. In the time past, he never did see himself as someone who would have to avenge anybody but now, it was becoming sort of his motto. Not like he was complaining about it. After all, the responsibilities of a King were numerous. And he had to exact them with the proper justice that was needed for each situation he found himself in. “What do we do?” HE
Power in the hands of chaotic beings is just a lower sample of hell. The demons surged about, numerous in their numbers as they screeched and roared. The unlucky humans who got up in their paths were gobbled up, eaten and then regurgitated as pieces of bones and blood. Fear gripped the ranks of the Bureau. In all their times of weidling systems, they never did expect to run into something like this. It has always been about fighting humans. Humans who would go against the way of things of the Bureau. Those who would flaunt the order of things. Those who would would want to thwart the general agenda of the Bureau. Never about things of this proportion. Never about misshapen beings that looked like a hybrid of several creatures. Black with wings, baleful eyes of red with poor patchwork of muscles over long bones for the ones who walked. Those ones measured several meters high, even as much as 8ft tall. The ones who flew were the smaller ones. Having the likelihood to apes, flying
Helen sighed, patting the black crop top she had on. The action brought focus to her belly button, the size of a water drop, externally. . It was slightly larger than normal. A phenomenon which was referred to as ‘dodo’ by his country's people. Oftentimes it was used as a term for light hearted mockery. But sighting it on her, the confidence at which she exuded even with it being exposed, it triggered him sexually. He loved her personality. The way she carried herself even though she knew she was not the best. But still had some air of confidence, as well as a bit of empathy. The fact that instead of leaving outrightly with him, she stayed behind to let him clear his head was lovable. Unlike someone who knew. The person of Lady Beatrice. She cared very less whether you’re anted to be teleported or not. As long as she had you in mind to transport, that was what she carried out. Consent or not. “You.” A raspy voice sounded now. It had a tone that spoke of humor and at the same time m
