Subtle steps, the man in black shirt and trousers walked forward. The audience of the battle scene were driven with a mad frenzy. It was almost interesting to watch, that is, if the people involved did not get the attention of the Head of the Bureau. Now, he was dispatched to end their battle. It had drawn out for far too long. It was even a miracle how the other partner was still holding up to the brute force of this new guy. It was only a testament to the strength of the other guy. Of the Western guy he was pitted unfairly against the new guy. He did not know them much. He knew neither of them in fact. His work was based away from the complex of the Bureau. Hardly enough time for him to know who was who in the Bureau complex. Not that he complained about it. His work was one of a kind, after all, he held the future of the Bureau, literally. Secretive and it required him to be like that too. And even now, he was on it. Moving through their ranks, they watched the battle, filled
The screen began to appear in his face. Then like before, the same status appeared, only to show the end result. His skill failed. And for the first time since he got here, Dayo frowned. Now this was something he did not bargain for. “Inquiry!” He chanted. If there was a reason why his skill failed, then the next skill he had would provide the reason for the failure. This was the power for the Inquiry, its sole function was to probe the reason why things failed. Whether it was for him or someone else. [Inquiry In Effect… Please wait…] [Failed- Reason: Passive skill - Immunity] “Immunity?” Dayo gasped. “He is immune to my system? What the heck?” “I need more data on that. Inquiry.” “What?” Dayo shook his head in worry as a new status popped up out before him. [Passive Skill- Immunity has blocked your attempts at accessing the system interface for target.] He gulped as the stream of Mana connected to himself and Frank broke off. At the same time, Frank heaved, holding Lee
The time slowly moved along. It was a while since they had started the procedure on him. And she was thankful. A little smile crossed her lips as she observed his face. He winced every now and then. It was a sign he’d live. That the effort her daughter and her put in would be enough to bring him back to life. Though, it left one valid question unanswered on his lips. What was the issue with his loss of blood? There had to be something about him that placed him in constant need of blood. Whatever it was, she would have to do a thorough check up. That is, after the storm or whatever it was, at the hospital was done and over with. She frowned slightly, her eyes gazing down to the wounds on his body. All old wounds but they were opened. It was prone to infection. She jumped into action. “Please get me the first aid kit.” She clapped at the lawyer. Then turned towards her daughter, a smile on her face. “Hey baby? How do you feel?” She wrinkled her eyebrows at her.Favor smiled weakly. He
The might of the Bureau was out there. And it was a spectacle to watch. The higher echelon of the Bureau stood in majestic splendor, soaking up the adoration of the Gen Z system hosts in the area. It was always a blessing to see them, coming fromGen Z System Hosts. At least, to the new e generation of Syatem Holders. It was a amazing to see those who had power their skills more than they could ever dream to reach of. The icons in the Bureau were out here and it was estaastic to watch.Last Beatrice, Blink, The Switch amidst the others. The people who came up with the first idea of a system bureau. Or the people who helped to make what was their Bureau an actual thing.Prof Bumju clapped in silence as he watched all of this from a safe distance. He did his not have a system. And indeed, he was tired of asking for one. Not everyone could merge or host a system. Not everyone as compatible enough. And he fell right into that category. Now, he simply enjoyed the process of not asking f
It had been some days since she had come in here. It was roughly about a week and some days, but she did not know for sure. There was literally no way for her to get in touch with the usage of calendars here. The Facility did not care so much for them in that regard. All they had to do was to simply do as they were told and make sure they were best at it. There were the usual issues. They were girls, after all, it was impossible for them not to have such banter. And even though she was the newest in here, she was pretty much used to everything in this place. Blessing smiled to herself while recalling how she had been able to adapt to how things went here. She knew the sounds of the various waking alarms and how they differed from each day. They did sound the same generally.Or so it would seem to someone who had no idea of how things went on here. Not her though. She knew better. She knew the alarm rang a little longer when tiw asMonday morning. It ahd a lazy tone when tiw as weekend.
The Exercises began to build up to a momentum now. The girls were really digging into it as some of them started to perspire while they put in their best. Tabitha on the stage was putting him to work. She was good. Perhaps, if she was not at the Bureau, then she would have done well to be some gym instructor or something like that. She was way too good. Although the number of those who did not have it in her good books continued to rack up every now and then. It seemed more than ever that they were determined to put her under the waters. After all, who didn't know about the notoriety of Tabitha? The fact that she was really good at a lot of things that the Facility held for the girls did not make her stop the nonsense she always had planned out. Back then, things were different for her. They enabled her more than ever. After all, only a few of them could actually stand up her nonsense She was indispensable. Until Blessing came around. Now the entire facility could see that the pr
“Who’s with me?” The loud voice of Monsieur Louise rent the fervor of the girls. Most of them stopped for a brief moment to regard him. He was not all that familiar to them. Yes, they knew of his relation to the Bureau. Nobody could just barge in here without being connected with the Bureau, one way or the other. The thing about this one was that he was not one of the people who spoke in this place. He was the head of the hybrid division, that they knew. Beyond that, he was just another nameless staff member in the Facility. The only people they related with oftentimes were either Monsieur Dayo or the Handler that dealt with their day-to-day activities. Outside of that, they knew him nowCertainly, they didn't know if he was in the clear to ask such a question. And what exactly was he asking it for?The frantic expression on the face of the Handler, Ms. Rachel, told them what they needed to know. They smiled, the ones who couldn't afford that luxury of a smile simply breathed away.
The call of Monsieur Louise disrupted the fever of the girls. It distracted Tabitha who scowled at him for this. She was trying to keep herself out of the bad books of Ms Rachel and yet, the whole thing was to come do this?In frustration, she exhaled, plating her hands at her waist. She looked past him to Ms Rachel hoping to see something that would inform her of what to do with this. She was the coach, as far as this training session was involved. As they had only gone for the time range of, say 15 minutes now. This man had no right to just come to break that up for her. At least, give her some time to show Blessing that she deserved the spot as the top dog in here. However, she was disappointed after noting the defeated look Ms. Rachel shot her. So much for her being as tough as nails in the Facility. Now, having him, she would not do anything to live up to her reputation. The reputation she built up with her. The reputation that pointed her to be so annoying and always wanting to
