I want to cry. But is this bad or good for Lekan? I mean, Morgana clearly said Amihan. Whoops!
“Uh?” Lekan gasped as his eyes widened. He was on his knees, his hands raised up to the air, as if to block out something. A suspended yelling expression of fright was on his face as color returned to his cheeks. He looked around, the whole scenery had changed once more. No longer was he out there in the dimlit night, facing a beast which was about to roast him alive. He was back in this space. A space which he had come to know as the Sub-Space. A space where he could commune with his sustem and the personification of the system as well as the one who gave him the powers which he currently possessed. Amihan. Everything looked pretty much the same. Like he had left it. The familiar lines of blue and red that ran about the space, like warping fabric of reality of this dimension. The chill that came from the vast emptiness, the only source of light enough to illuminate everything coming from his body. A soft blue glow and the huge screen on which his status was displayed. Right from the days immemorial. Since the time when magic was unleashed upon the earth. One thing had always been clear. When you have an enemy, you do not tend to him lightly. You tend to him with all the anger in your veins and make sure that he never rises again. -------------- Culled from; The Chronicles of the Early System Bureau. ---------- Piles of wrecked walls lay about, dimly lit by the now failing street lamps in the street. Even though some of them still functioned, the aura from the demon choked all of the light into nothingness. It was so faint that the person in the black attire had to squint to see all through. Purple lines appeared in the air just about them, all of them floating as the person observed the new scene. Doubt filled the heart of this person as they pondered over what exactly was happening. They had seen them die. Or if they did not die, then they had seen them get all burnt up. Yet this same person was still talking about some anti mana. Wha
GWAH! Blood erupted from deep within the lungs of the boy as he felt a tremendous force jam into his belly. His face scrunched as he doubled over, senses disoriented for a blitzing minute. His body screamed for help but there was none in sight. His heart chided him harshly for even daring to think that he could stand a chance against the demon. How stupid of him. And now, his skill had failed to manifest in the most critical time since he had ever gotten his curse. The initial heating of the air died down almost immediately. His life flashed before his eyes. Right before him, the unwavering fist of the demon surged forward with the precision and the hatred of an ancient foe, straight for his chest. He closed his eyes, feeling the tingling sensation take out against his skin. His hair popped up instantly, the State ring impulse of danger destroying his very nervous system even nastier the punch landed. And in the firing, his body went loose, the dam breaking as fear exploded thr
Can you still fight? The word echoed over in the ears of the boy as he got to his feet. RIght in front of him, the figure in black stood, just like some savior, their back to him. They stood so confidently that the demon did not seem much of a threat to them. Or at least, that was what the person was trying to make him feel like. But he welcomed it. His eyes narrowed now as he rose to his feet fully. Taking a deep breath, he observed the room of the demon ahead. The skeletal structure of the jaws now had some strings of flesh that attached… Or were some reminders that there was flesh over there. Once. He pondered, wondering if flesh would ever return back to that spot once the boy... The actual boy he had been saving was back to normal. For now, he would not know. Not when he was staring a demonic presence in the eyes. And the unnerving smile that the boy had, like it knew that everything would fall to his hand. The red eyes, the red light that oozed out from every orifice
“You know why you could not beat me.. Even if you tagged team with the entire whole world?” Amihna continued. He leaned forward, his legs spacing apart. His right hand touched the ground while the other hand arched over in a fist, the color of it slowly turning into ed. Just the right arm too. “The thing with you guys.. With the good guys is that you think that your unity would help you. You think that the more you are, the more powerful you become or the more of a force you are to reckon with. But it is a lie.” Amihan stated now, a smile to his face. “The more you band up together, the more your weakness is revealed. The easier a target you become. It is easier to burn to death a horde of bees, than it is easier to burn a single one buzzing all about you. Thai is where I have the advantage.” He scoffed as he lifted his head, a bloodthirsty aura firing out instantly. ‘This is where I am king over the likes of you. And this is why I shall prevail>” He declared as his feet stomped
Light appeared in the air, hovering over the right arm of Leslie. They had a solidity that hummed with energy. Every bit of them with irregular shapes of broken glass pieces. WIth a heave of her hand, the shards of light danced through the air. They hummed out like bees in a horde, dangerously zooming forward, in a cyclic motion to the demon. . Sensing this as a chance to step up his game, the boy heaved as his bloodlust expanded over him. He stomped his feet, exhaling forcibly. Simultaneously, his muscles bulged outwards as the air around his body heated up instantly. “Fist of seven.” He roared out, throwing himself into the fray. WHOOM! The shards hummed as they arrived at their destination. But the demon was faster. It turned around instantly, its body blurring through the atmosphere.. Amihan dashed to the further right. Artfully, he skipped the menacing hailstones of light shards by some very close inches. However, just as Amihan did that, the shards followed him. E
“What do i do then?” Lekan asked with an exasperated expression as he looked at the system lady. The system lady in all of her calculativeness looked worse for wear. She sat at the top of the status screen, her hands to the side of her body. She held on, looking away from holding the gaze of Lekan for far too long. “You know, you cannot keep doing that?” Lekan asked her, pointing a finger at her. “I mean, I need to get out there. So I get that he wants to save me and all that But I did not bargain for a demon to start using my body as its own.” He scoffed now. Lekan sighed afterwards. In some moments earlier, he’d have asked for the demon to take over. He’d been mad at the system lady for interfering. Thinking it was a badly thought decision for her to do what she did. Stopping the swap out with Amihan in the middle of the trouble he found himself. It was the right thing to do. He just did not know of it yet. Now, he had gotten on the side to walk with Amihan and in the en
One with the World. It was more than just one classy name for a skill. It was more than just a curse that led him to the murders he ahd commited in the past few times. It Was more than himself. It was the state of affinity where he was in complete stasis with the world. If anyone had told him, some years back, that he would never reach a state whereby he was in complete balance with the world, then he would not have believed that person. Heck, he would have even called such a person as someone who was crazy and needed to grow up. That how was it possible for one to have powers that only existed in the imagination of some authors and even on screen? That it was just some twisted kid’s dream, a kid who would never want to grow up. Wishing for some way to enjoy life and their fantasies. Just like the cartoons and media portrayed. But right now, with his huffed breaths and cramped shoulders, it could go to blazes. He could care less about what the version of him in that time w
