Try to grieve. The tears glands are there for a reason If you hide away from your pain, eventualy the pain would eat you up form the inside.
RATATATATATA… BRAKATATATATA… POW! POW!!! Several rounds of gunfire exploded into the air, all of them directed to the hovering chopper. The serene atmosphere was shattered immediately as explosion lights lit here and there. All attack systems of the F-86 Sabre jets fired simultaneously. “Shit! He’s got shields.” The lead pilot cursed out as his fingers jammed into some buttons just on the roof over his head. Ahead of them, as the planes hovered, slightly adjusting their trajectories in a cyclic motion of arms bombardment. The chopper glowed in a slightly tinted blue light as bullets ricocheted off the surface. “That is it! They have shipped so we have the permission to unleash all the gunfire that we have.” The lead operation man for the Pinch Hit Operation chanted out once more. “Don’t worry guys, give them hell fire.” He roared as he focused on the shooting. The planes dived forward, switching positions so fast before the retaliation weapon system of the chopper could go off.
“It's okay, you are allowed to cry.” Astella said. Lekan stood still. Upon hearing the words from her, he wanted to laugh. To laugh at how stupid she had sounded for her to say that to him. He was a guy. And in this modern society, it was taboo for him to cry. It was a taboo. For you were male,to cry. His body refused to. At least, that was what he wanted to believe. Unfortunately, Lekan found his body spasming out now. He bit down on his jaws, his hands fisted at his sides. In a second later, his frame shook uncontrollably as tears welled up in his eyes. The tears stung so bitterly but he held back against them.Trying so hard not to blink, lest he let down his tears. All the tears he had held back since the death of his parents. Having to discover some time later that his father. The man who had birthed him was not the hero he had thought him to be. Having to deal with never having to see his mum ever again. To see that ehr loving face that always reassured him that ever
Blessing panicked. The calm and the ease at which the pilot responded to her did not do anything to allay her fears. Her heart in her mouth, she was almost about to jump out. Well, that is, if they were on land and not up here in the skies. God knows where for that matter. All she could do was simply breathe hurriedly while praying that things did not degenerate from here. She had just been in the middle of a battle. A battle she would have watched from her to screen and probably applauded the heroes of it for surviving the deal. Never had she imagined that one day, she would be the one in it. One day, she would be the one living through the ordeal. However did she turn from that girl who was writing her final term exams to this person bragging through an air combat? “What is happening? Please tell me that that would not repeat itself.” she said to the pilot, asking him as her chest rose and fell consistently and rapidly. The pilot sighed. Ge took one glance at her and then shrug
“Whooaaa….” Blessing yelped. The floor which she thought was actually close to her was simply an illusion. Something her mind made up.That or she was not paying attention in the first place. She threw her hands to the side, flapping them uselessly like a duck. Her body neatly cutting through space, in sync with gravity.Until…“Watch out there.” The pilot rapped out, his strong hand gripping her waist and pulling her backwards. “I said we could get down. I didn’t say that you could move around the way you want to.” He warned her. At this junction, Blessing exhaled, trying to catch a bit of her breath. Not so long ago, she had almost died, sitting in a chopper while multiple gun fires were sprouting on it.Now, again, she almost fell to her death. The lucky charm in this case being the pilot witness. He had grabbed her just at the nick of time. Preventing some accident. An accident in which she was pretty sure that she would not have survived.Blessing took a minute, her hands on
Mount Elgon was generally known as the Gentle Giant. The lush vegetation of the savannah types filled the low scope of it and the tall palm trees in the far distance. The air around was misty but dusty at the same time, the warmth in the air risen to really significant levels. Blessing took in the sight with a smile on her face. This was amazing to her. She knew where Mount Elgon was. She had even seen the picture during her geography classes. That is, when they were taught about peaks and summits. She had had to study it. But to think that she would be here, some day. No, not some day. To think that she would be here, today was something she never imagined. It Was a dream come true. Even though she was not sure that she had dreamed this dream. Everything with the System Bureau just seemed to get more interesting by the time. She pondered now, how it was that Lekan did not accept their offer. But then, she dismissed the idea. Knowing that Lekan could have had no idea to know
To fight or to flee? Blessing was confused; she remained still, her heart in her mouth. Her pupils dilated, watching the exchange between the two men with bated breaths. She pondered over the choice she made in her head. Neither of them was based on flight or fight. Indeed, if she was to run off, then how was it possible to outrun the man here. The man whom the pilot had acknowledged as the speed demon? How was it possible to get out of his range faster than he could come on her. She could try to sneak off, that was given. She could try that and hope that it would sit well for her. That is, while the two of them were engaging in their conversations, she could hope to sneak away. Undetected. But that was a wild bargain. And the chances of success with that was near negligible. It was far better not to take any risks in this circumstance. After all, what did she know of tenterrain in this place? She was only new here. The best bet that she had was the pilot. That is, if the pilot
The slight brightened, revealing some more of the environment that they were. She was right, blessing sighed. The place was high tech. It was something she would see in the movies. Something of which they would have some sort of secret research going on. This was yet the same place she was in.She squinted as her eyes took in the sights. Her lips parted in excitement mixed with large swathes of curiosity as she turned around. The conversations they held were no longer important to her.The walls were metallic. The light flashed about continuously. More like flickering every now and then. The strong smell of disinfectant in the air was nauseating yet welcoming in some strange way. The air conditioning in this place was working top notch. Standing still for so long almost froze her to the bones.“Wow!” She muttered. While she was right about the place that they were in, the other guess was wrong. This was not just some corridor of sorts. It was rather a wide spacious hall. The walls ar
WANNNNNN!!! WANNNNNNNNNNNN!! “This is not a drill. Everyone out. We are under status emergency. Everyone out!” BEEP! Beeepp!!! “Ugh…” Blessing groaned as she raised her head from the pillow. With another groan, she lifted her body, grudgingly. Her bare feet slapped against the ground as cognition came into her eyes. With one hand against her head, she blinked, noting the red light flashing from the square ceilings up above. “Ah. What now?” She cursed. “This is not a drill. Everyone in the bunkers is advised to evacuate immediately. This is status emergency.” The urgency of the voice overhead blared out consciousness into Blessing. Her eyes widened instantly as she jumped right up. No more was she groaning for more sleep. At least, not when she had almost been killed in an airborne battle the previous day. At least, today, they had taken the luxury to inform them that they were under attack rather than having them figure things out. She looked to her left, seeing the sigh
