Mount Elgon was generally known as the Gentle Giant.

The lush vegetation of the savannah types filled the low scope of it and the tall palm trees in the far distance. The air around was misty but dusty at the same time, the warmth in the air risen to really significant levels.

Blessing took in the sight with a smile on her face. This was amazing to her. She knew where Mount Elgon was. She had even seen the picture during her geography classes. That is, when they were taught about peaks and summits.

She had had to study it. But to think that she would be here, some day. No, not some day. To think that she would be here, today was something she never imagined. It Was a dream come true.

Even though she was not sure that she had dreamed this dream. Everything with the System Bureau just seemed to get more interesting by the time. She pondered now, how it was that Lekan did not accept their offer. But then, she dismissed the idea. Knowing that Lekan could have had no idea to know

To fight or to flee? Blessing was confused; she remained still, her heart in her mouth. Her pupils dilated, watching the exchange between the two men with bated breaths. She pondered over the choice she made in her head. Neither of them was based on flight or fight. Indeed, if she was to run off, then how was it possible to outrun the man here. The man whom the pilot had acknowledged as the speed demon? How was it possible to get out of his range faster than he could come on her. She could try to sneak off, that was given. She could try that and hope that it would sit well for her. That is, while the two of them were engaging in their conversations, she could hope to sneak away. Undetected. But that was a wild bargain. And the chances of success with that was near negligible. It was far better not to take any risks in this circumstance. After all, what did she know of tenterrain in this place? She was only new here. The best bet that she had was the pilot. That is, if the pilot

The slight brightened, revealing some more of the environment that they were. She was right, blessing sighed. The place was high tech. It was something she would see in the movies. Something of which they would have some sort of secret research going on. This was yet the same place she was in.She squinted as her eyes took in the sights. Her lips parted in excitement mixed with large swathes of curiosity as she turned around. The conversations they held were no longer important to her.The walls were metallic. The light flashed about continuously. More like flickering every now and then. The strong smell of disinfectant in the air was nauseating yet welcoming in some strange way. The air conditioning in this place was working top notch. Standing still for so long almost froze her to the bones.“Wow!” She muttered. While she was right about the place that they were in, the other guess was wrong. This was not just some corridor of sorts. It was rather a wide spacious hall. The walls ar

WANNNNNN!!! WANNNNNNNNNNNN!! “This is not a drill. Everyone out. We are under status emergency. Everyone out!” BEEP! Beeepp!!! “Ugh…” Blessing groaned as she raised her head from the pillow. With another groan, she lifted her body, grudgingly. Her bare feet slapped against the ground as cognition came into her eyes. With one hand against her head, she blinked, noting the red light flashing from the square ceilings up above. “Ah. What now?” She cursed. “This is not a drill. Everyone in the bunkers is advised to evacuate immediately. This is status emergency.” The urgency of the voice overhead blared out consciousness into Blessing. Her eyes widened instantly as she jumped right up. No more was she groaning for more sleep. At least, not when she had almost been killed in an airborne battle the previous day. At least, today, they had taken the luxury to inform them that they were under attack rather than having them figure things out. She looked to her left, seeing the sigh

Ass hat? Blessing pondered on those words as she took her seat right beside the taunting figure of Tabitha. Tabitha laughed, softly, using her hands to cover her mouth as she nudged at her with her foot. Blessing narrowed her eyes at this. But chose to ignore this action from her. THere was only so much that she knew about it. But what she did not enjoy was this annoying action from Tabitha. It didn't matter who she was. However, being that he was new, there was only so little that he could do. Escape to pay her no attention and focus on what they were doing in here. The backstage walls had been cased in velvet curtains. Thick, the type they used in the operas. The pulpit which was placed centerstage, had some microphones in them. It was built in such a way that preachers would appreciate it as it contained an arm rest by the sides. Very flexible for whoever it was that would use it. The whole scenery here reminded her of her schooling back in Lagos. Back in Lagos Nigeria.

“The Bureau is what you can call something secret but nothing secret. We exist and yet do not exist. It is a complex issue that you would not bother to understand lest you come into some confusion. Heck, i know what i am saying is enough to confuse you already.'' Dayo laughed shortly. “Of course, It is.You want to epxlain this shot to her or you want to fry her brains?” Tabitha shouted from her seat, sticking a thumbs down to him. ---------------This action solidified the idea that this whole setup was just for her. This was her orientation since the others in here had already known everything that they had to know about the bureau. However, it touched Blessing in some way. To think that the annoying girl would want to care about her. “Hey,don't get any ideas in your head.” Tabitha turned to her. ”I just want to get out of here on time.” She said, “Oh!” Blessing sighed, realizing the truth of the matter. She only did that so they could be discharged on time. “Please, mind

"No. No. That is not what I am saying. Please. Do not misunderstand the simple point I am trying to pass." The man in the two piece black suit sweater furiously. He leaned back in his swivel chair, his fingers snapping shut and clicking the pen release continuously as he spoke. From the looks of things, he seemed to be having a rather hard time in convincing whoever it was he was speaking with. He inhaled, trying a qpick 360 in his chair. Behind him were the glass window walls. It showed the sights of a rising sun and some morning birds chirping here and there. To the casual observer, this miater was winging it great in his office. However, to the man on the chair, an entire scene was playing out. One which he did not follow. He hated it here. At least, he hated it whenever the head of the board hiked him straight. Ranting in and on about how much they were losing stocks. Like that was on him. He only had one goal. Crack the secrets of the Bureau and come into the promised

“Oh ho!” Dembe laughed, shaking a finger at the French man with his eyes dilating. “You are spoiling for a fight, are you not?” He scoffed. “Typical entitled bastard.” “Mhm. Demas thoughtfully observed him, a smile over his left side of the face. “And as expected, you have been nothing more than just an empty barrel.”Provocatively, he leaned forward, placing his hands on the table in which he sat. “And as we all know, empty barrels make the loudest noise.” “You talk cheap.” Dembe snarled at him.WHOOOM! Cold chills descended in the room. The Air conditioning seemed way too ineffective compared to this as mini gusts of spontaneous wind gales erupted here and there. Furniture shifted over the place, the glass table shattering into pieces.“Eternal Time coffin!” Demas calmly mouthed.DING!A large ethereal clock appeared behind him. With golden hands and a bronze surface, each hour tick having the color of silver. “Chronostasis.” Demas chanted. Dembe's eyes widened at this. He leap

“Ha!” Blessing gasped. The whole landscape was overtaken by a mix of several exploding debris. The earth shook here as people quivered, falling to the ground. Explosions rocked the surface, drilling tension in their already sweaty bodies. Blessing gasped for breath as she looked about. For a split second, she paused, her entire self freezing. She was at the Buteau, was she not? How did she come out here? And worse, what was happening? This looked like world war three was taking place now. And she was thrown right in the middle of the conflict. “Ha!” She gasped for breath. The next second, her feet lost bearing. Her entire frame toppled over as a shell rocked the ground some meters away. The swiftness at which her face slammed into the uneven tarred road. Or what was once a tarred road jarred her. Her body spasmed instantly. Her ears rung, her sense of bearing stunned for a while. The pain in her head rammed hard, destabilizing every attempt of her in trying to rise. “Ahhh!

Lekan got out of the building. Frost things first, he would get to make sure that blessing was alright, then he would make sure that the Bureau was set right. He did not want to run. Not away from it. He had been running for far too long and look what that led him to? What if as I ran away, more things started to happen to innocent people? People like Keder, the Bureau stealing her life and youth from her. The anger started to boil in him that he did not know when he started to run towards Blessing. The latter continued her spell as more and more mana started getting sucked into it. ‘ Just then, two people landed down from a building. They had one priority while trying to ascertain what they were up against. They Had one thing which they had to do. And thaw was what they carried out all diligently. The safety of those who weep with them. THose who did not know what it meant to be system holders as they could not effectively fight back. Those who needed to be helped just because they did not have a system to start with. This was the priority of the higher ups in the actions. Only fighting back when they had no chance. All hope had been cast on monsieur Dayo and the actions he had been doing at the Research Facility. The research which had kept him busy back then, the same thing which had made him invulnerable to any threat which came from the council towards his being. She saw him. This was not like the threat that they had just faced down but it was still a threat for them. She glinted in anger as she started to run now. Ignoring the call of the other girls as they realized that the other demon had vanished as well. Thai was not their fight, at least, until they received further instructions from Monsieur Dayo on what to do next. His body scaled through the broken down side of the walling of the class snow. With her body still in drive now, she drove her hands to the stomach part of the demon. With quick succession ,she dealt multiple mana blocking blows there and then. The diamond screeched and the result was concluded immediately. It fell down with a thump as it revealed her to the people in the classroom now. And to the one she was looking to see. ‘Lekan!” Blessing called out with excitement in her face. “Blessing?” Lekan turned around with surprise in his eyes. He was hardly taken aback with many things. Earlier on…. When he got the summon from Monsieur Demas, Dayo knew it was pretty serious. It wasn't something to be taken lightly. Especially when they had just crossed a milestone now. The unveiling of the Bureau would just be out there. This would be a major setback, if they did not handle it well. And so, he let go of the grudge he had with Monsieur Demas. After all, beyond their conflict and personal interest, they still had a duty to the System Bureau. They had to fly its flag and answer the summons against anything which was out there to bring it devastation and destruction. And this summon was just one of them. He braced for combat., literally. Donning his costume as what they knew of him as The Switch. He had to be ready for just anything and that included what he wore. This time, things would be different, Msnier Dayo said to himself even as they poured into the System Bureau. They would not have to depend on him alone in the combat of whatever they had to face. She shook her head, stomping her legs as her four arms slapped down on her waist now. “ Oh No! I hate this. And it infuriated her. “wEe need space.” Donald mentioned now. “Helen, your turn.” he called out. Immediately Helens dropped down to the ground. She slapped her hands flat out on the floor and then with a chant, her eyes went dark. All blacked out. “Shadow domain.” Dark circles appeared on the ground. The moment he got to know about the invasion of demons in this place; the first thing he did was to find a way to reach Leslie. He pretty much was trying to find his way about things in this place. And the only one who had shown the willingness to show his way around was none other than Leslie. Frank heaved as he held his right arm. It has healed over the time since the last time he had to get physical with anybody. And thankfully, there had been no cause for him to get involved with any fight. That is, he assumed Lee Min must have learnt his humility and then stayed to himself afterwards. He smiled to himself over this thought now. In the time past, he never did see himself as someone who would have to avenge anybody but now, it was becoming sort of his motto. Not like he was complaining about it. After all, the responsibilities of a King were numerous. And he had to exact them with the proper justice that was needed for each situation he found himself in. “What do we do?” HE

Power in the hands of chaotic beings is just a lower sample of hell. The demons surged about, numerous in their numbers as they screeched and roared. The unlucky humans who got up in their paths were gobbled up, eaten and then regurgitated as pieces of bones and blood. Fear gripped the ranks of the Bureau. In all their times of weidling systems, they never did expect to run into something like this. It has always been about fighting humans. Humans who would go against the way of things of the Bureau. Those who would flaunt the order of things. Those who would would want to thwart the general agenda of the Bureau. Never about things of this proportion. Never about misshapen beings that looked like a hybrid of several creatures. Black with wings, baleful eyes of red with poor patchwork of muscles over long bones for the ones who walked. Those ones measured several meters high, even as much as 8ft tall. The ones who flew were the smaller ones. Having the likelihood to apes, flying

Helen sighed, patting the black crop top she had on. The action brought focus to her belly button, the size of a water drop, externally. . It was slightly larger than normal. A phenomenon which was referred to as ‘dodo’ by his country's people. Oftentimes it was used as a term for light hearted mockery. But sighting it on her, the confidence at which she exuded even with it being exposed, it triggered him sexually. He loved her personality. The way she carried herself even though she knew she was not the best. But still had some air of confidence, as well as a bit of empathy. The fact that instead of leaving outrightly with him, she stayed behind to let him clear his head was lovable. Unlike someone who knew. The person of Lady Beatrice. She cared very less whether you’re anted to be teleported or not. As long as she had you in mind to transport, that was what she carried out. Consent or not. “You.” A raspy voice sounded now. It had a tone that spoke of humor and at the same time m
