Chapter 22: Inner Sanctum

The next morning, Adam felt the hem of his robe being dragged. He smiled and let the cub have some fun while keeping his eyes close for the time being. Today, he had to find the inner sanctum, or by tomorrow night, he might lose half of one of his attributes.

Mother dire Wolf looked much better this morning. Although she was still lying on her side, she had finished the water given by Adam and took a bite out of the meat.

Adam didn’t hesitate to give her more water and replace her meat supply with a bit of fresh stock. And finally, he was running out of his own food stock as well. Either he had to cook the Python or hunt something else.

The next problem was the food for the Dire wolf. She would be in better shape within the next two days, and Adam assumed she would regain the usual appetite by then. And after that, panther meat could only sustain her for a few more days.
