Mage

"Lucia!! Wake up, are you okay? Lucia!!!" I was violently awakened, by the strong voice of a girl. Not only that, I also felt like that girl had just patted my cheek and called me by some unfamiliar name.

Forcing myself to open my eyes while still a bit hazy. I looked in the direction of the voice and let out an exclamation. "Wow." I regained my senses immediately after making that sound and rubbed my eyes thinking. Who is this western beauty girl? Her eyes were as blue as the sky and her skin was white as if nourished by milk, plus her silver-gray hair was tied in a tangerine style bun that matched her face very well. Why would such a beautiful girl appear in my apartment? However, it seems that this is not my apartment anymore, from where I am lying I see a very strange scene. And this girl's way of dressing is equally strange, cosplay? But also my voice just now, it doesn't feel right, maybe it's because I just woke up, so my voice isn't normal.

Such a series of thoughts raced through my head, while I stared at her for a second. But I suddenly saw her blue eyes looking at me with a strange look, as if trying to ask if I knew her or not. The two of us look at each other like this, even next year there will be no answer, I opened my mouth first so anyway, a guy shouldn't let a girl stay silent like that.

"Um… who are you?" I asked after a pause.

"You're Lucia, aren't you?" That girl ignored my question and immediately asked back.

"Lucia!? No, you must have mistaken me for someone… Eh??" Before finishing the sentence, I felt that there was something wrong with the other girl's question, did she just call me Miss? I also have some problems with my body, I need to check it out immediately.

I touched my neck as I adjusted my voice and hummed a few tunes to check. When I spoke, I felt that my previous male duck voice had disappeared, replaced by a clear, sweet voice of a girl. For a moment, I felt a bit confused and still had many doubts, so I quickly checked other parts of my body. The neck is smooth and smaller than before, the hands are surprisingly slim and white. The breasts are bigger than before, but they're not firm, but they're soft and elastic, girls' breasts? As for the hair, it's silver again and it's way too long.

Thinking about it a bit, these features are somewhat similar to the type of girl I discussed with the game maker earlier. So is this really the character that the guy who made the game made for me, and I'm in the game now? Plus the sundress for the ladies to wear to sleep, he also made for me, right?

"Are you okay?" The Western beauty girl called out while waving her hand in front of me. "You look like you just had a nightmare."

"Huh? Ah, I'm a little confused, would you mind letting me take a breather."

I still feel really weird about myself now and also… the way I connect to the game. Apparently I was still sleeping before and when I woke up I was in this form, with absolutely no memory of participating in a game. But when I feel the current senses, I see my vision... even though I don't have glasses, I still see very clearly. Touch is very sensitive, I can feel the smoothness of the pillow on the bed touching my skin. The sense of smell is very good, I can smell the sweet, elegant scent that permeates this room. There's no question about hearing, I can clearly hear what the other girl said to me just now. Only taste remains, how should I verify?

"Can you give me some water or tea?" I asked in a low voice.

"Um… Then will you drink your tea as strong as ever?" She said as she gently walked over to the table by the window and made a cup of tea.

"Is there no way?" I called with follow.

"Sugar is there, but…" She paused for a half beat, then turned to me and spoke quickly. "Excuse me, can you get up from the bed and stand by this window for a moment?"

"Ah, okay." I honestly did as she said. And from the beginning until now, I had a question in my mind, is this western girl an NPC in the game, or a player like me? Besides, why didn't she turn on the light to brighten the room a bit? From the scenery around me, I see under the dim light, it seems that this girl is also the type with money, why should I save a little light.

As soon as I got out of bed, I felt that this body height and my real-life height were not much different from each other. Visibility was fine, but just not used to the lack of something between the legs and heavier in the chest than before. However, I did not have any difficulty in controlling my character. I adapt very quickly, as if this is the body that I was born with. And the width of this room too, it's twice as big... maybe three times as big as the apartment I live in. At this size, I don't know what the house she lives in looks like. Either way, I would be able to see the scenery outside if I looked out the window next to her.

As she approached the window, she didn't say no, grabbed my face and brought her face close to me, staring at me, like she was searching for something on my face. However, she seems to be looking directly into my eyes instead of looking elsewhere on my face. Moreover, the distance between the two of us is getting closer and closer and I can feel her sweet-scented breath on my other lips. Her face was so close to mine that I felt my face heat up with embarrassment. Hey hey, I'm a guy anyway, if she doesn't mind doing that, I'm shy too. Not good, my heart seems to be pounding and pounding because of her beauty. Even if it's just a game, it's too real to be allowed.

"Sorry, can you let me go? Your face is too close." I tried to speak in a calm voice, and she immediately released her hand.

"Forgive me for my actions just now, you seem to be someone other than Lucia." She concluded and exhaled, as if she had just lifted some weight from her heart.

"I was also wondering who that girl named Lucia is, am I that much like her?" I took a step back, rubbing the cheekbones the girl had just grabbed.

"Lucia is a friend of mine, she's twenty-two and not as young as you. And minus the color of her eyes, she was about six years ago just like she is now. Like two drops of water." She said and rubbed her palms over her arms.

According to her, I look about sixteen years old. It turns out that the old man who created the game did quite the exact age of the character I asked for, so now it's just a matter of determining where I am and who she is.

"Can you tell me where this is and who you are? Would you mind giving me some tea!?" I remind.

As she walked to the counter, I turned around and looked out the window and the view I saw was only part of a castle, and the houses in the distance were probably part of this city. . In terms of architecture, this building looks like a medieval western castle. As for the smaller houses, they don't look very well but I'm sure they are commoners' houses, and they have a rather distinct architectural style that appeals to my tastes. But, if the place I'm standing overlooking is part of a castle, then the girl next to me is... a noble?

"Here's your tea." The girl walked up to me and handed me a cup of tea just as I turned to look at her. "And please introduce yourself. I am Havaca Inceret, daughter of King Verog Inceret II, and princess of this Domine kingdom." She said with a solemn manner, and bowed slightly.

"Um… hi. So are you an NPC??" I asked after being stunned for a few seconds by her introduction.

"NPC??" Havaca showed a puzzled expression on her face. "I don't understand what you mean when you say I'm an NPC."

Am I playing a new generation game, or does she have a programming bug that doesn't recognize she's an NPC? There's no way, no matter how highly developed the game is, it's impossible for an NPC to both talk and have lines as if they were communicating normally with the player. Not to mention I have a feeling that this place is quite real, if the tea she just handed over tasted like I thought it would, then this place would be like a real world.

"That cup of tea I guarantee is safe with you, there's no need to be afraid." Havaca said when she saw me hesitantly looking at the cup of tea.

"I don't mean it but… are you really a princess? And this place is the royal palace?" I purposely ignored the problem I needed to find out.

"Yes, and may I ask who you are and why you fainted at the edge of the forest that adventurers frequent?" She answered emphatically, and retorted.

I took a sip of the tea I just drank and confirmed its sweet taste was real, which shocked me but not as shocked as she said earlier. "What did you say, princess? Did I faint at the edge of the forest? Isn't this the first place I showed up? Can you explain it a little more specifically for me?

The princess stood with her arms crossed, and leaned her shoulder against the window sill, and began. "This morning, a group of soldiers while guarding, noticed a strange light appearing at the edge of the forest. After hearing their report, I went there with a group of knights to check. When they arrived, the scout team found her lying unconscious in a naked state. However, we quickly wrapped her up, and then I brought her here in silence myself. Because then I thought you were Lucia." She finished quickly.

"Am I naked??" I blurted out like I couldn't believe what she said. Even though I'm a guy, I still pay attention to the problem of being seen by others. What's more, this body is a girl now. "So how many people have I been seen in that state? And isn't this outfit also made for me by them?"

"The matter of you being seen naked are only a few of my knights, and I take the position of princess to guarantee their honor on this." The princess giggled, then continued. "As for the other dress, of course the maids helped put it on, please rest assured." She spoke in a loud voice, and her eyes were full of determination. "Back to the point before, who are you and why are you at the edge of that forest?"

During this time, I meticulously analyzed every detail and wondered, is this a game anymore? If it's a VR RPG, normally I'd have to start somewhere like a temple, monastery, or near some adventure guild for beginners. On the other hand, I fainted at the edge of the forest and was picked up by the princess, so it was a bit different from the opening scenarios of the RPGs I played. Now if you want to know more information, you have to answer Havaca's questions first. Then I'll ask her more about this world, whether it's really a game or not.

"I'm Yeager Jane." I introduced myself by my first name, then suddenly remembered that this princess had said her first name before, so I quickly corrected it. "You can just call me Jane or Yeager directly, whatever. As for the fact that I fainted at the edge of the forest... I don't know how to explain it to you. What I remember is that I got caught in a heavy rain on the way home. That made my illness worse and I fell asleep on the sofa in my apartment, when I woke up she called me. That is all."

Princess Havaca looked at me thoughtfully for a long time, she finally concluded. "Your way of speaking seems to be different from the locals here and the name is also strange. I'm sure you're not from this country, but I understand what you're saying." She spoke as if there was a big difference in our language. "So, do you have any explanation for the light beam appearing where you fainted?"

"Before answering your question, I want to verify a few things, I hope the princess is not hiding anything from me." I quickly took the opportunity to interrupt her interrogation.

"Just ask, I'll be sure to answer what you have in mind." The princess left the ledge by the window and walked over to a low table nearby. "Come here, please have a seat." She pointed to the chair opposite to invite me.

According to the attitude and what Havaca had asked just now, plus the scenery and feelings of herself just now. I guess, I've been transported to another world, but there's no game here. And when she said, where the beam of light everyone spotted me, it must be a portal to this world. In short, how did I get to this world that I thought was a game? Maybe it has something to do with the man with the wheezing asthma-like voice. The only one who can explain everything is he, and every clue I know about that man is completely blind. Now I have to find out from this princess.

I sat down across from her, then cleared my throat before speaking. "First of all, I want to ask, is there magic in this world?"

"As you said." Havaca admitted emphatically, then explained further. "This world does have magic, but only those who have become Mages can truly have advanced magic. As for the others, if they can use magic, they can only be called ordinary magic users."

"Then how can you tell who is a mage and who is just an ordinary magic user? What's the difference between them?" I quickly asked.

"Mage, is a general term for those who normally use magic that don't need to chant spells or set up runes. However, they could still cast their magic through those two stages, but it would take time. In return, the effect of the skill when formed will be overwhelmingly stronger." The princess paused for a moment, looked at me with a smile, and changed her position a little to make it more comfortable. Done, she continued. "For the remaining magic users. They often have to chant spells and draw necklaces in order to cast spells, and sometimes fail. That's why we call them ordinary people who know magic. To put it mildly, they are beginner magicians, or apprentices."

"That's great." I smiled, and felt my heart pounding with excitement. "So can you tell me the difference between advanced and beginner magic? For example, how is the power difference, or how is the effect between the two?"

Princess Havaca casually poured another cup of tea and slowly pushed it towards me without saying a word, then she poured herself another cup and sipped. About ten seconds later she spoke. "The difference between advanced and elementary magic can be compared on a case-by-case basis. For example, the skill level between the two of them, or depending on some magic aid. But basically, advanced and elementary spells can't be compared. If you want, you can also reluctantly use the sentence "heaven and a cliff" to describe it." The princess continued to silently sip a few sips of tea. Her expression suddenly changed, becoming full of confiding. "Speaking of truly advanced magic, aside from the legendary Seven Heroes, there are only a handful of people left who can use it." Havaca's voice had become much softer than the original strong way of speaking.

"So… as you say, the magic that only people of legend can use is different from ancient magic? How many users can this world still have?" I don't want to spoil the mood of that beautiful princess, but right now what I need is as much information about this world as possible. So I couldn't help but keep asking.

After my question, princess Havaca returned to her original serious sitting posture, and she also spoke in her strong voice from before. "The only person I know at the moment is the mage at the sage tower of this country. He was someone who had mastered the magic of light, which was also a rare and precious kind of magic for humans. I remember once, I happened to see the level of the Sorcerer at a temple, when he was modeling for others."

"Listening to the princess, it seems that you respect him very much. So what level has that Mage reached?" I said it as if it was a very casual conversation between me and her, not for informational purposes.

"According to the rank scale, he has reached the final level of ten. But I believe, his strength is higher than that." The princess confirmed, then she spoke again with a look of regret. "Unfortunately he is not a knight, or else he would have added someone who could become the legendary paladin."

I don't know what a paladin is, but it only takes two words of legend to know that this title is very noble. If the beliefs of the people of this world are those legendary knights, then perhaps this is also useful information.

"Wait." I interrupted my own train of thought. "The princess said: One more person?" I looked at her without blinking. "Does that mean there is still more than one other legendary Hero out there right now?"

"I only know two people out there. The first one was rumored to be the heir to the position of Fire Knight. He's probably one of the youngest Seven Heroes to date." The princess said proudly. "He is the same age as Lucia, is a noble, is also an adventurer, but does not know exactly which country he is from. That's all the information that people out there say."

"Really amazing." I sighed, ready to ask. "Then how is the rest, princess, do you know?"

The princess sighed looking at me. Her eyes seemed to say that I asked too much. But then she happily answered. "The last one is called the Black Knight. His information was so scant that it seemed like nothing at all. There is only one interesting information, that is, someone said that he was corrupted by his own dark power. It's very dangerous for the people around, that's why no one dares to go near him to get news."

"Let me ask you one more question." I couldn't sit still because I was very interested in the information that Havaca had to say. And it seems that this topic, the princess herself is very interested in, and is also willing to share with anyone who is willing to learn or listen. When I received her nod, I asked her. "Is the power of the Seven Heroes different elements?"

"Right." The princess answered briefly.

After a few seconds of waiting attentively listening to the sequel, she finally answered yes, which left me a bit disappointed. But through the above information, I gradually understood a small part of the current state of magic here. But what about the Seven Heroes? Even though there are knights in that position, but are magicians capable or not? Just now, the princess said that it's impossible to feel sorry for the Mage.

"So about the Seven Heroes, are there any other positions other than knights, princess?"

"I'll talk about them briefly." Havaca's tone of voice sounded exactly like the teachers in class. "The Seven Heroes only consist of knights, and they are magical knights with a solid foundation in their youth. As for those who have mastered their craft like Mages or something else, it would be impossible or very difficult to keep up with the rhythms of the knights. In other words, only those who live the standard of chivalry will be able to step into the position of the Seven Heroes." She leaned forward, cupping a hand over her mouth and whispering. "And my personal opinion is the difference in physical strength between knights and mages, that's why the Seven Heroes won't have any magicians."

"Why is it so unfair, so a magus with as much physical strength as a Knight would get a foot in it?" I sighed as I sat with my arms crossed, leaning back against the chair, feeling disgruntled that other professions weren't allowed to become legends.

"Like I said, it would be impossible for them to lack a lifestyle and heart of a knight." Princess confirmed. "And in reality, no one ever gives up on his own path when he's matured, whether it's a magician or a thief. Moreover, the heavenly gift of magic for the two Knights out there is unthinkable, and they already have their own path as a knight so it's only half a step away from the finish line." The princess picked up the teacup, drank it down in one gulp, and continued. "Okay, if you have more questions, I suggest you go to the library, or go to a training school to find out more. Some of those places will have answers to your questions."

Oh, this princess's attitude is still polite on the surface, but I've asked too many questions just now, she must have been annoyed in her heart, so she said that. The princess is also right, I can't ask too much, but anyway she suggested that I go to a library or a training school to find information. That's also a good idea, but how to get there?

"Jane, can you tell me what the beam where you fainted is?" Princess Havaca asked me back after a moment of silence.

"Ah, I think it must be some kind of teleportation magic that I don't know either." I answered honestly.

"Why do you call it teleportation? The teleportation spell in the book says it's an ancient magic that no one can use except the Seven Heroes, but I don't know how to do it." The princess's tone and expression showed doubt.

Even though there is magic in this world, I don't know how to explain the teleportation magic that the princess gave it as a complicated advanced magic. Furthermore, I need to tell her honestly that I'm not from this world, maybe that would make my words more believable.

"I consider it a teleportation spell since my world cannot use magic like this one. To put it bluntly, I'm from another world." After a moment's hesitation, I asked again. "Does the princess believe what I say?"

"If you say you come from a world without magic, then at least the place to find you must have rituals for summoning heroes from elsewhere. But over there, there was no trace of her at the place where she was found." The princess coldly explained, her skeptical expression growing.

"Wait, you mean the hero summoning ritual? Has someone been summoned here before?" I was surprised, thinking I was a special case, who would have thought that someone had been transferred here before. There must be at least one person.

"Um…according to what I learned in the sage tower, hero summoning requires seven magicians, corresponding to seven different elements, to summon a hero." The princess mumbled, resting her hand on her lower lip as if speaking to herself. Then she suddenly replied. "Yes, there have been several instances of being summoned here before. But they were boys her age, not a single female, and each of them personally built their own achievements thanks to their knowledge. I don't think you're the one summoned by the ritual."

Did she say the ones who had been summoned were only boys at this age? Then why am I in this world? I'm obviously past that age, or is it because the ritual is not performed here but somewhere else? Does that way of thinking work?

Calm down my dear, let's analyze it from the beginning a little bit. I remember that before I lost consciousness because of the high fever caused by that rain, my physical condition was already bad. When I got home because I was too tired, I didn't change and wipe myself but lay down to rest on the couch... did I die in that eternal sleep? No no no, what happened next was just my dream. I remember a man asked me if I liked magic, and the answer was obvious. After talking with him for a while, I slept again, until I woke up, I was in this form and in a strange place.

Pin the questions in the conversation with the strange man. If it wasn't a dream and all the magic I asked him to claim was real, then I would probably use the magic and skills of a knight right now?

Thinking that, I tried raising my left hand to eye level and cast magic, to see if what I thought was true. I just thought about the magic I wanted to cast and for about ten seconds, tiny white spots appeared near my palm, they gradually gathered in the middle. Numbness in the fingertips begins to appear and those little white spots stick together very quickly. In the blink of an eye, an electric ball gradually appeared in the palm of my hand and grew to the size of my fist according to the previous thought of control.

I was breathing fast and my mouth was open as if my lower jaw was going to fall, the feeling of doing magic myself for the first time was a bit... unreal, and it was so magical and equally thrilling. When I stopped using the magic, the electric ball immediately exploded, turned into many small fragments that sparkled like stars and gradually disappeared into the air. I watched those lights die in an amused smile. It seems that casting magic is not difficult for me, probably thanks to the help of that strange man.

When I looked back at Princess Havaca, I saw her staring at my left hand with wide eyes and her whole body stiffened as if she had just witnessed something scary, did I do something wrong?

"Are you all right, princess?" I leaned over and waved my hand in front of her to confirm her brain wasn't turned off.

A few seconds later the royal princess. "Ah… I'm fine." Her voice rasped. "It's just… she said, she comes from a world where magic cannot be used. But you just made a ball of lightning and didn't need to use the self-supporting necklace." She spoke and swallowed hard.

"How should I put it, I just felt like I could do it and tried it out a bit." I hesitated at Havaca's bewildered expression. Her original noble and mature image had completely disappeared, and was replaced by a girl who was making a very surprised expression. I had to change the subject, so that she wouldn't ask why I was able to do this. "Is that considered advanced magic? Did you say that high level magic users don't need to use self-supporting necklaces?"

"Jane, are you really from another world?" Havaca called out my name directly and asked in a serious voice, her doubtful eyes twisting deeper into mine.

"This world is really a strange place for me, so I have no need to lie to you." I answered her honestly, except that I was a boy from the other world.

"That is enough." Havaca took a deep breath, exhaled loudly, and stood up. "You stay here for a while, I need to discuss your matter with some people I trust." Her voice was serious, and her facial expression made it clear that this was important work. "I'll let two maids serve you, just tell them if you need anything. And after my discussion is over, I hope you'll be mentally prepared to meet those people." After saying that, she walked all the way to the door and paused for a moment and turned to look at me. "Of course not in this form." The princess smiled and left.

Just as Havaca was leaving, two maids came in and blocked the door from outside, both watching me and waiting for my orders. But I feel, that smile of the princess seems to be hiding something dangerous and scary that I can't explain.
