Strangely, the other soldiers still got their masks on, but they fell prey to the fungi-like alien monster and saw hallucinations. As far as he could see, he was the only soldier around who was still sane.
Trying to reach the control room at the temporary base proved to be useless. Just like what Ricky said earlier, the communication was cut off without anyone even noticing. Could it be that they were deep in the alien’s hallucination to begin with?
