Chapter 1453 The New Secretary

Diane is flannelling the top of the lobby counter in Teodoro's building. In keeping with tradition, the radio plays “Welcome to Paradise” by Green Day.

Carmen enters the lobby and connects herself with the song, “Yes, I left hell and now I'm in heaven.”

Diane lifts her head, “Hello, cousin. Why did you say you left hell?”

Carmen approaches her, “I quit my job. It was going to happen sooner or later, but I pushed ahead because I felt like I was being an eyesore to certain people.”

Diane sighs, “You speak concerning Pam's confusion?”

“Yes, especially Vânia. But, I don't blame her. She's married to Melissa's uncle, it's only natural for her to take their side.”

Diane revolts, “No, that's not natural. I think you and Aunt Cris have already proved to everyone that you are different from Pam. You don't have four children from different fathers. You didn't lose your virginity in a vacant lot. You didn't destroy the life of a Churchgoer.”
