Josias feels unworthy to receive Elisa's wedding invitation. He lowers his head and shakes it.
"What is it, Josias?" Elisa asks, puzzled.
"No, Miss Bento, I am not worthy of receiving that invitation." Josias tries to explain himself. "What I did at the bar, anyone would do in my place."
"Anyone who wasn't that drunk," Igor replies, "but speaking of that unfortunate neighbor of yours, it didn't look like anyone was going to defend my sister."
Josias had to agree on that. Elisa's screams for help should have awakened those who live next to Jeremiah. But the tenant did not appear until Josias had broken through Jeremiah's door. If it weren't for that...
"I think you are thinking that I am on the same level as you." Josias continues to dodge.
With that, Uélton approaches and takes the invitation from Elisa. "He accepts, madam."
Josias is startled by Uélton's sudden appearance and his daring.
"Uélton, what are
Melissa is frightened, her hand is shaking in the indecision to close the door in the face of Fabrício or not. Fabrício, however, is serene and smiling."What's up, Melissa? Is something wrong?"Melissa takes a deep breath and tries to compose herself, but her voice comes out shaky."Yes, didn't you know that I broke the friendship with Pamela?""Your mother told me over the phone and I came to find out exactly what happened, and if I could help with anything."Melissa sees sincerity in Fabrício's countenance. And she is right because Fabrício had not been informed of the fight."How funny, Mom didn't tell me about your phone call.""She must have forgotten." Now Fabrício is pretending with a yellow smile."Well, I don't know if I'm allowed to let you in, so I answer you right here at the entrance: I found out that Pamela had lost her virginity to Josias while she pretended to hate him in my p
Pamela goes to the main door of Melissa's house to beat her up. She was pretending to argue and belittle Fabrício, but the hatred she feels for Melissa is real.Pamela still hasn't forgotten the day Melissa dropped Mrs. Chaves's shelf on top of her, full of junk and sewing trinkets. She had several injuries from the needles and scissor tips. But, Melissa is faster and goes inside the house, closing the door tightly. Pamela stands outside, unhappy."Hey, don't run away, you coward! Open that door now, let's get this over!"Pamela starts knocking violently on the door, her right hand hurts from hitting the solid wooden frame. Neighbors start to come out and notice the confusion.Embarrassed, Fabrício wraps his arm behind Pamela and pulls her out of Melissa's door. "Hey, you freak! Do you want her to call the police? We were both supposed to pretend we hated each other, we weren't supposed to talk to her!""She teased me and I wil
Tiago receives Josias with concern when he sees his countenance."What happened, master? Sit down, let's talk.""I came here to ask you for another favor, my friend." Josias sits on the navy blue sofa. The comfort of the furniture makes him calm down a little."Well then, tell me about both matters." Tiago sits in the armchair, settling in as if he were indeed a king, "My employees need to be happy to do their jobs well."Josias smiles at that phrase, and after taking a deep breath, spills the whole story of Melissa, Fabrício, and Pamela, ending at the last meeting.Tiago slowly fades his smile, and when he finishes listening, he is already frowning and with clenched fists."Who does this idiot think he is? Is he from Saint Gabriel? Do you know his last name?"Josias feels a shiver. What does Tiago want to know his full name for?"I think it was Cerqueira, I don't remember..." Josias adds the last piece to see if he disc
Somewhat upset that she was visited by Fabrício, Josias knocks on Melissa's door. She opens it with apprehension, still vigilant."Melissa? Take it easy, it's me. Was Fabrício's visit that unpleasant?"Melissa could have lied, but she decided to ask, "How did you know that Fabrício visited me?""We met at the corner of your street." Josias smiles slightly, "And believe me, it was not a fraternal meeting.""Oh, Josias, I'm sorry... come in, please." Melissa opens space and Josias enters. The two sit on the couch."Mom is making nut cake if you wait..." Melissa tries him with a smile."Look, I think I'm going to try another recipe from my mother-in-law—" Josias stops and puts his hand over his mouth, "Ehr... I'm sorry, Melissa."Josias is still thinking about Melissa as his girlfriend, and talking about Elisa's wedding ended up confusing his mind, as if he were going to talk about his wedding with Melissa.
Thursday, Pamela appears in the living room, radiant and wide awake, coming down the stairs with a fuss to make sure her leg is fully healed."Oh, how good it is that I am no longer disabled! I need to thank Mr. Bento satisfactorily for all the good that he has done."For Pamela's depraved and sickly mind, 'thanking' Tiago is going to his bed and not leaving until they both pass out from exhaustion. There is a knock on the door and Pamela answers without asking who it is. If it were Fabrício, she was already screwed. But, it was someone worse..."JOSIAS??"Pamela's scream was so scandalous that Carmen came running out of the kitchen."What is the bricklayer helper doing here?" Carmen yells, "Pam, I thought you were done with this antic!""You two keep quiet that I am the one who will speak!" Josias punches the door, opening it fully, and strides in, staying in the middle of the living room. He's frowning and his gaze is bloody.
Josias is walking to Tiago's house and trying not to laugh in the middle of the street, remembering how the Chaves sisters went from excited to angry in the blink of an eye."As I suspected, she always kept an eye on me. That talk about getting away from Melissa, saying that I was not worthy for her, was all bullshit. Pamela wanted to get away from me so I could stay with her. She liked the body of the 'bricklayer helper'."Josias smiles again. Pamela's stunning face will stay in his mind for many days. When Tiago receives him, he tells what he did. Tiago listens with some apprehension."When I was with them to talk about the medical treatment, they didn't seem so mundane and inconsequential." He ponders."Take care, Tiago." Josias warns with his index finger, "They are this way, like spiders in a web: first they trick you into being a sweet person, then they trap you. I shouldn't have taken her to my room...""Well, that's in the past. Some
William is not the only one to be irritated by Josias and Melissa's rapprochement. At Uélton's house, he announces to his brother when they are about to sleep."Josias was invited to attend the wedding of Tiago Bento's sister. That is an honor!"Wallace just does 'tsk' and shrugs. He takes off his clothes while Uélton is already under the covers."He won two invitations and was thinking about calling me, but I logically told him to invite someone else who was worth it."It was better for Uélton to quiet, but he cannot discipline his mouth, as Josias had asked many times. Wallace, now in his underwear, sits on the bed and opens the blanket to cover him."Of course he will prefer to take a call girl instead of you. I'm saying you only think about this guy, let him take a breath!"Uélton smiles from the corner of his mouth, enjoying the effect he intends to have on his brother. "I wouldn't call her a 'call girl' if I
Wallace thinks that William reacted favorably to the proposal to separate Josias from Melissa to join her with him. But, William is reacting with revolt and outrage."How dare you ask me for such a thing? I don't like my sister being treated with a lack of decorum!"Wallace breaks his smile and finds William's reaction strange. "What did you say? It's not like that, buddy. I just want Melissa's good.""That's what everybody says, but if I blink, Melissa becomes a single mother!" William pushes Wallace aside, "Excuse me, man, before I'm late!"Wallace doesn't give up and pulls William by the backpack. "Wait, boy, let's talk straight! You don't even know me to say whether I'm worthy or not for your sister."William looks at Wallace as if he's casting laser beams from his eyes. "Listen here, you pervert: no man in this world will live up to my dear sister, do you understand me? Neither Josias nor you, so forget this deal, I don't want my sister to be
