Josias doesn't know what to do to explain to Melissa that William was rejected, so he goes back to work without saying anything to the secretary.
"Are you going out today, dear?" She asks.
"Yes, one more visit to Mr. Barbosa." Josias looks at the floor, "And I think I better go soon. Bye, dear!"
Josias quickly kisses Melissa's cheek and leaves.
Melissa looks at the door and begins to suspect that Josias had spoken to Romualdo. She ponders for a few seconds and decides to get up and go to the office room.
Romualdo is reading some documents at the desk when she enters.
"Excuse me, Mr. Silva?" She asks.
"Before it was 'Seu Romualdo', now it is 'Mr. Silva'?" He asks with a smile.
"Every time the company grows, I must have more respect." She approaches, "I came here to talk about an important matter."
"Has Josias already told you that I am not going to hire your brother?"
The question leaves Melissa in shock. She stops
Simeon is in his overalls to work. Dora, from time to time, looks at her husband with desire, because she believes that men are attractive with this garment.William is walking on crutches, but he is smiling for coming home. Dora hugs him sideways."Son, your father needs to go back to work, but at night we talk about your future. Now I want you to rest, do you hear me?""You can leave it, Daddy," William responds like any obedient boy."Bye, honey!" Simeon kisses Dora and William once again feels uncomfortable in front of his parents who never exchange a quick and simple kiss."If you guys continue like this, I won't be the youngest anymore." William jokes.Parents laugh at their son. Simeon leaves."Well, now you need to go to yours—" Dora is interrupted by the ring of the phone. She goes to answer. "Hello?"On the other side: "Mommy? It's Melissa. How's my brother doing?""Hi, daughter! Your brother is fine, sti
Josias interrogates Tiago about how he managed to persuade the principal of SENAI. Tiago clears his throat before answering."Josias, you are very suspicious.""And I really am. You owe me that answer for a while. You said we should keep open communication. No secrets."Melissa no longer disguises that she is listening.Tiago chuckles, "You have a lively imagination. I just introduced myself as a partner of the Silva Construction Company and the principal listened with reverence."Josias stares at Tiago. "Was that just it? Does our company have all that power, barely a year on the road?""That principal gets terrified of any businessman." He gets up and says in a mocking tone, "I may have threatened him with sue, perhaps, what helped to reconsider..."Melissa and Josias burst out laughing.Tiago asks with raised eyebrows: "You didn't think I behaved like a mobster, did you?"The bunch of laughter ceases. The two of them
Pamela comes in nervously and slams the door. Wallace is making the dinner, the sound of the stove and pots is heard."Are you here yet, dear? I am making dinner ahead of time." He informs her."Thank you very much, honey!" Pamela tries to respond pleasantly. She sits on the bed and takes off her shoes.Pamela is unhappy with William's decision to take custody of her son. Wallace approaches in an apron."What is it, dear?" He asks sweetly."Nothing, love. Pregnancy stuff." Pamela disguises.Wallace is serious, not believing at all. "You came from Melissa's house. How's William doing? Did you happen to meet with her and argue?"Pamela feels trapped.***At night, Isabel is crying sitting on the sofa with a framed portrait. She looks at it and sees the whole family together and smiling.Harold opens the door and enters, in a gardener's uniform."Honey, are you missing our son?"Isabel replies impatient
The Campos family is having dinner at the table. Dora starts the conversation."So, Will? Did Pamela convince you to give up the idea of quitting soccer?"Melissa reacts angrily. "Pamela was here? What did this bitch want with my brother?"William smiles at her. "Calm down, sis. I'm the one who has to protect you."Melissa looks hard at her mother, not liking it at all."What did she want, son?" Simeon asks to balance the mood."Just knowing how I was doing, she heard about the operation.""Wallace must have spoken to her because I didn't say a word." Melissa opines and clears her throat, "Did you know that because of her Josias will have to leave the building of Seu Teodoro?"General and awkward silence. After a few seconds, Dora breaks it."Why? Because... of her?"Melissa replies in disgust: "Yes. She slandered my boyfriend once more and Seu Teodoro advised Josias to get out of there. Something totally unfair
Josias enters and is received by a real estate agent who was already waiting for him.The broker welcomes him with a smile. "Good morning, you called me yesterday, right?""Myself, Josias Rocha."The broker thinks he is facing a wealthy businessman. "It is an honor to be able to serve you. What can I serve you for?"The two sit down."I look for a house to live by rent, preferably in Green Park," Josias informs."A great place to live. Well-built houses, paved and planned streets, all public services, with a telephone network...""Yes, I am aware of it all, so my choice." Josias does not get carried away by the broker's sweet talk. The real estate agent thinks he is smart and suggests with a feline smile: "Although for someone of your level, Europe Garden would suit you."Josias just smiles slightly. "I will be staying in Green Park anyway."The broker is intimidated but does not want to lose his pose. "Ah... Okay
Wallace and Pamela enter the supermarket and clock in. Their supervisor appears and notices Pamela's pregnancy."Pamela, is everything okay with you? It looks like you're pregnant."Pamela automatically adjusts her blouse. She replies awkwardly, "No, sir, it's the cold blouse that makes volume.""Ah, okay. Excuse me." The supervisor walks away."Pam, I can't believe you lied at the job interview!" Wallace scolds her with a frown."Honey, the chances of me being hired would be minimal if I said I was having a three-month-old baby!" Pamela responds as if that were normal to do."When they find out, they will fire you without mercy! And how will our bills be?""This is not going to happen, dear. We'd better get to know about our labor rights to see if it does."Wallace is still not at ease. The two go to their service station each.***Dora finds William walking on crutches and dressed socially. She is surpris
Harold strolls through the supermarket and finds Wallace on one of the gondolas. He approaches his son in quick steps."Son, I'm so glad I found you. I really needed to talk to you.""Daddy, I'm busy, if you haven't figured it out yet.""I noticed. But, I don't have another time to talk to you. In a little while, I have to go to the condo's garden and at night you are with Pamela."Wallace looks both ways. Several customers are shopping and the store inspector is watching."Let's go somewhere else." Wallace decides. He and Harold go to the part of the supermarket where the restrooms are. No one is passing at the moment."There are fewer people here, you can talk."The point is that Harold doesn't even know how to start. "Well, son... Your mother has been crying for you."Wallace replies nonchalantly: "Unfortunately, that's what happens when the kids leave the house.""Son, you know very well that it is not about y
Moacyr continues talking to Evandro."Remember, Evandro, it is for us to keep a secret.""Are you calling me a gossip, man?" He asks playfully.Moacyr laughs: "Not exactly. Just be careful, the walls have ears.""The cafeteria is spacious here."The scowling customer who heard it suddenly gets up from the stool and pays the bill. Evandro is surprised by the sudden departure of the client, who throws the money on the counter and leaves without waiting for change."Jeez, what a nut guy. He didn't expect his change.""Maybe he wanted to leave you as a tip," Moacyr reassures him.Adrian appears in the cafeteria. "Ah, father, I was looking for you. The masons of this Silva Constructions are wanting to talk to you.""Wait for me to pay for my snack here, and then I go."Moacyr pays for the snack and says goodbye to Evandro, then leaves with Adrian. Evandro still can't forget the client who left suddenly.***
