Diane approaches him smiling and wearing an apron, “Honey, good news! Tomorrow the locksmith will come to repair the balcony railing, removing the glass and installing iron bars. Now let’s feel safe and free ourselves from the guilt.”

“Honey, my mother’s death was never your fault or mine, much less Felipe’s. Don’t allow people to say otherwise, or we’ll never get rid of the mockery.”

Diane shrugs, “If you really want to know, I don’t care what people say. It’s just that I felt responsible for allowing the glass railing all these years.”
