Josias is the most embarrassed of all. He turns to Uélton and repeats the classic question: "Uélton, didn't you promise that you would discipline your mouth?"
"Sorry, Josias, but it can't be overlooked!" Uélton justified himself.
Milton continues to pull Josias by the shirt. "Come on, Uélton, duty calls us. Look at the owner looking at you."
Moacyr, however, has the same sense of humor as Teodoro. He chuckles and excuses Uélton. "The boy is very curious, leave him alone."
Uélton smiles in thanks and leaves with Milton. Josias remains thoughtful. Carmen is dating the hateful son of Moacyr Barbosa. But, months ago it looked like Adrian was making a move to Melissa. Has he gotten over it yet?
"Well, Seu Moacyr, then you are aware that this young woman is accusing me of abandoning a child that is not mine. And that I am in a close relationship with Melissa, the company secretary." Josias communicates in a serio
Uélton returns home. Isabel is watching the Mexican soap opera 'Los Ricos También Lloran', a novelty in Brazilian lands. She smiles briefly at her son and continues to stare at the TV."Good afternoon, son. How was work?""It was great, mom. I met Josias. Something interesting happened today."The soap opera goes into commercials and Isabel turns to her son. "You can talk. Does it concern us?""Not so much, it concerns Wallace more." Uélton sits on the sofa, "The owner of the house we are building has a son who is dating Carmen. And he informed us that Pamela's baby was born."Isabel raised her eyebrows. "Look, how interesting. But, Wallace didn't come to tell us.""I think he is too busy taking care of everything, or he fears that we will complain.""But, of course, we will complain!" Isabel snorts, "Imagine, he's busy—"Isabel is interrupted because Harold appears, coming from work. "Oops! Good afte
Wallace takes a deep breath to face another storm with his family. "Well, I just came to tell you that Pamela's baby was born. When you want to visit her and meet Caio, you can feel free. She... resigned from the supermarket to stay home."Uélton suspects that the last part of Wallace's sentence was a lie, because of the pause he made and because he stared at the floor. When we speak the truth, we look at the person we speak to."Son, that is out of the question." Harold speaks on behalf of the whole family, "This baby is nothing of ours. He is not my grandson and he is not Uélton's nephew. And he is not your son either!"Wallace adopts an icy stance and says mechanically: "Like it or not, he was registered in the hospital files as being my son, and as soon as possible we will register him in the registry office as being mine.""Why are you doing this, my son, why?" Isabel cries out like the heroine of the soap opera."It's because I
Josias announces to Cristina and Raymond Chaves that he intends to assume Caio's supposed paternity; since Pamela insists on saying that he is the father. But, he doesn't intend to live much less marry Pamela. As an addict, Cristina cannot bear the brief period of abstinence and turns the television back on. Raymond is enraged."Woman, I ordered that damn TV off!""I NEED to know what's going to happen to the protagonist, dammit!" She roars back, out of control."Let's go to the kitchen!" He tells Josias. The two men get up. Josias is a little embarrassed that Raymond is still wrapped in a towel. Is he the father of Jeremiah? In the kitchen, the two pull chairs from the dining table and sit down. Raymond calms down and asks, "So are you going to assume the baby's paternity? Are you the father yourself?""No, I am not the father. I never touched your daughter, Mr. Chaves, although I admit that I think she is incredibly attractive and beautifu
Jeremiah opens the door to his room and opens his eyes wide when he sees Pamela outside."Pamela! What happened? Shouldn't you be on rest?" He asks genuinely curious. In other circumstances, he would love to have Pamela visit for the two to get tangled in unrestrained conduct, but now?"What can I do?" She asks, entering the room uninvited, "You can't be seen down there anymore, especially now that Teodoro has called his son to act as foreman.""Do you think that Beto came here for this? I don't believe it. I think it's for another reason." Jeremiah closes the door. He is wearing overalls, as he was leaving for work."Why would he be here? I always thought Seu Teodoro was lonely." Pamela asks as she sits on the bed."I think Seu Teodoro is about to die and his son has already come here to visit the boardinghouse and take over afterward." Jeremias smiles hopefully, "I hope this happens. I am sure that if this Beto takes over, he will remove the ban
Josias and William get in the room of Romualdo. William is surprised and curious to know why so much mystery with a simple job interview."Why there is so much reservation to do the interview? Can't we just talk outside?" William asks.Josias gestures for him to sit and he sits in Romualdo's chair. "Will, I actually want to tell you about something else. Let's take advantage that Romualdo is not there."William senses trouble and gulps."I know your son was born." Josias continues, "And as I promised you before, I want to help you. Romualdo agreed that you would be hired to work as a bricklayer assistant at a construction site we have in Rainbow Garden.""Cool, not far from home." William is happy."Yes, I thought about that too." Josias smiles, "Uélton is there in the electrical section. Now, there is another one. I also want to help you have exclusive custody of the baby. But, you are a minor and you are going to start working yet.
Melissa is totally astonished and dumbfounded to discover that she is an aunt and that she was an aunt in 1980. She starts to shake her head as if she were waking up from a nightmare."But... but... Will!" She gets up and walks away from the two, "Will, what you meant?"Josias approaches her. "Honey, I know this is a shock to you...""Did you know?" Melissa gets annoyed to see Josias calm, "Did you know and didn't you tell me?""It was a personal matter between you and William. He asked me to keep it a secret." Josias responds seriously."When I asked you to get along and become friends, do you decide to do this by hiding things from me and making a fool of me?" Melissa crosses her arms in anger.William gets up. "I didn't mean to make a fool of you, sis! It's just a difficult subject to talk about."The office climate becomes tense. Melissa remains unhappy."Will, when Pamela became pregnant for the first time, you kept your m
Simeon returns from work and finds the family more harmonious and calm. Dora approaches him and kisses him with madness and passion. William and Melissa vibrate and tease."Little sister, sooner or later we will be three children!" William scoffs.Dora and Simeon move away and are slightly embarrassed in front of their children; as if they were the children and Melissa and William were the parents."You two, stop being silly!" Dora jokes, "I am welcoming your father, who spends all day toiling in that mechanic shop."Simeon sits in the armchair, "But who's going to work in this house is my boy too! Speak up, champion: did everything go well in the job interview?""Josias was the one who interviewed me," William speaks with a smile so wide that Simeon got suspicious."Ehr... and everything went well?" He asks without understanding."Yes, father, Josias not only hired me but promised to help me!" William tells Simeon everything that hap
The next day, Moacyr is being introduced to William. Josias took him to the construction site to give moral support. Before the introductions, Josias whispers in his ear: "Will, the owner of this house has a son who is dating Carmen. They don't know the truth yet.""Better to stay that way, so our plan doesn't leak," William muttered under his breath. So William prints his best smile when he meets the owner of the building: "Nice to meet you, Mr. Barbosa.""Will we have another worker?" Moacyr asks in surprise."We got another customer, Seu Moacyr." Josias explains with a smile, "Some workers will be relocated to the new construction. I hope you don't mind.""Well, as long as my house looks beautiful like the advertising, I don't care." He jokingly responds. Everyone laughs.Uélton approaches and extends his hand to William. "How are you, man? No hard feelings."Josias doesn't understand what Uélton meant, but Wil
