Panic and terror erupted at the Lafayette Supermarket as customers ran and screamed in desperation. Mothers carried their children, who were shrieking in fear, out of the store. The housewives who had swooned over Rodrigo were now calling their husbands, horrified, thinking it was a terrorist attack. Some people lay unconscious on the floor, blood pooling beneath them.

Outside, warehouse workers were running in such frenzy.

One of the trucks from Fazenda Bezerra had lost control and crashed through one of the supermarket walls. The impact was so powerful that the truck BURST through the wall, creating a deafening noise and toppling shelves filled with drinks.

Customers near those shelves were knocked to the ground, with bottles of brandy, wine, and cases of beer falling on top of them.

“Oh no, how HORRIBLE!” Nadia exclaimed, equally horrified.
