As soon as Pamela has been slapped by her mother, Cristina glares at her and holds up her index finger, silently sending her a warning not to scream or complain. Then, as if nothing had happened, Cristina points to the cups.
"Take the cups for them to drink their tea." Cristina orders like a British Lady. She's probably imitating another character from the soap.
Pamela swallows the curses and chooses five cups to take away, placing them in a plastic bowl for ease.
Back in the living room, Carmen is smirking and barely hiding the urge to laugh, as she could hear the sound of the slap being delivered and she can see one of Pamela's cheeks redder than usual. Pamela spends the rest of the family conversation in silence.
As Adrian leaves, Raymond announces to Carmen: "He's okay, daughter! But, what a strong, sturdy boy, huh? That's good; you'll give us healthy grandchildren."
"And you'll have beautiful grandchildren, because he's handsome!" Cristina che
Wallace is sitting in the chair without the dining table, wearing a tank top that hasn't been cleaned properly (because Wallace doesn't know how to use the washing machine), drinking coffee that wasn't made to perfection, and listening to the song "Making Love Ain't Nothing at All" by Air Supply, which makes him more depressed and misses Pamela."I loved you, Pamela..." His eyes filled with tears.A knock on the door cuts through the apartment's depressing mood and he gets up to answer it. Upon opening the door, his family stares back at him in obvious astonishment."Wallace, what the hell is this?" Uélton once again does not discipline his tongue, "Turn off or put on some more lively music for you to get out of this pit!"Uélton changes the radio station until he finds "Telephone", by Sheena Easton. "Did you hear? This is much better!"If Uélton knew English, he would have realized that this song also speaks about a loved one
Vera is approaching the door to visit Wallace. As she approaches, she hears screams and cheers from inside. Out of curiosity, she knocks on the door.Uélton opens the door and finds Vera waiting with a slight smile. "Good afternoon. Am I interrupting something?""Well, we are in the family. You are...""Vera Reis, I'm a friend of Pamela's, I came to visit her." Vera pretends she doesn't know everything that happened. From where Wallace is sitting, he sees Vera and smiles. "Let her pass, Uélton. She is Vera."Isabel looks at the beautiful brown-haired girl entering the apartment and smiles after confirming that it is the same girl she saw. Yes, blessed be God!"Hello, young lady!" Isabel holds out her hand, "Isabel Freire, the mother of this naughty boy. And this handsome gentleman is my husband, Harold Freire."Harold looks Vera up and down and understands why Pamela is jealous, "A pleasure, miss."Uélton a
Vera leaves Wallace's apartment going straight to Teodoro's apartment. Now, father and daughter are sitting on the sofa, discussing the progress of the plan."You don't look very happy to me, daughter." Teodoro watches."Well, you forgot to tell me a little detail." Vera is worried, "That I was the cause of this relationship's downfall.""My daughter, this was going to happen sooner or later." Teodoro shrugs, insensitive to the feelings of those involved."I'm glad I managed to get around, and because I was truly worried, Wally forgave me and swore he didn't hold a grudge." She smiles, "He even got really close to me when I wanted to leave and he stopped me..."Teodoro chuckles, "Oh, love...""He's leaving, Dad." Vera goes on, "He's going to spend a few days at his parents' house to clear his head and get his ideas in order.""Good. That way he forgets the slut and focuses on you.""I feel like they liked me." Vera speaks like
Adrian feels some tightness in his heart and a lump in his throat when he sees the engagement ring on Melissa's finger. She notices his grimace."Is there a problem, Adrian?"He pretends he doesn't know: "Beautiful ring on your hand."Melissa smiles, blows on her tea, and takes a sip. "Isn't it? Josias bought it for me. We're getting married."Adrian breathes so deeply that he seems to have sucked in all the air in the world. "Why are you doing this, Melissa?""Wow, that's what people do when they love each other, they get engaged and get married after a few months. I think that next year we'll go up to the altar."Adrian's tea became too bitter for him to drink. "Melissa, I don't want you to be hasty. Don't marry the first jerk who comes along.""Look, young man, you are treading on dangerous ground," Melissa warns him with a smile."You can't marry a guy who cheated on you twice," Adrian speaks in a desperate tone.Mel
Wallace is working in the warehouse, carrying heavy boxes of canned goods, while the rest of his coworkers stand still, chatting and laughing.Unexpectedly, Raymond approaches him. "Wallace!"Wallace drops the box to the floor and his colleagues laugh heartlessly at him. "You're weak, huh, Wally?"Wallace gets annoyed. Who calls him 'Wally' is precisely the woman he loves (or loved, now we have Vera), the daughter whose father is present."Roberto showed me where you were." Raymond approaches and helps Wallace lift the box. After Wallace piled it on top of the other boxes, they started talking."How can I help you, Mr. Chaves?" Wallace is polite."Can you help me understand how a man who claims to love my daughter attacks her here at work, in a busy place, countless people present... and then at home, alone? If I didn't get there in time...""You can be sure I wouldn't kill your daughter, Mr. Chaves," Wallace responds in an icy tone.<
Josias narrows his eyes, hardly believing he's going to have to act like a teacher disciplining two rowdy students. He shakes his head and speaks in a scolding tone, "Boys, I never expected this from you."He closes the door and goes on: "Can you explain what's going on here?""I think you better ask the office boy." Octavio's last word was laden with contempt.Josias stares at Adrian: "So, are you going to explain it to me?""Melissa asked me to keep the architect's floor plans. But let's say he wasn't nice to me this morning. So I kept the plans..."Adrian breaks off and bursts out laughing. Josias looks at Octavio, still serious."He kept my floor plans in the bathroom trash! They smell like used toilet paper!" Octavio explodes, hardly believing the other's daring to keep laughing."Adrian, stop laughing!" Josias orders and the office boy got quiet.Josias opens the door and finds that Romualdo hasn't arrived yet. "Before th
Teodoro is afraid that Josias will do something against his plan, so he decides to answer his questions without revealing everything."Well, Josias, it turns out that since Beto is living here and Vera often visits me, they happened to meet. And do you believe my daughter ended up becoming good friends with Pamela?""No, I don't believe it." Josias replies still frowning, "Your daughter must be a good person, incapable of communing with someone as wicked as Pamela."Teodoro gives a good laugh. "My boy, you are wrong about that. Yes, my daughter is a good person. Good enough not to be contaminated by bad company. The two got along well, I was surprised, but I didn't want to interfere.""And what advantage could Vera get out of this friendship?" Josias still doesn't fall into this history."Wallace said the two talked like friends and helped Pamela pass the time instead of always being lonely in the apartment," Teodoro explains.Josias gives a
Josias is at the Driving School in a Chevrolet car, all tense and nervous, trying to park with difficulty on the sidewalk. The driving instructor is sweating and taking notes on the clipboard."You can speak without mercy, instructor." Josias laments with his head down. The instructor gives an encouraging smile. "Don't worry, Josias! Nobody is born knowing how to drive. It takes persistence and practice.""Yeah, but everyone keeps saying I can do everything." Josias unbuckles his seat belt to get out, "And I can't walk a mile without the car's engine dying."The instructor also unbuckles his belt and pulls the clutch that Josias was once again forgetting.Out of the car, Josias continues to whine. "I think I will become a millionaire and have a private driver.""Even millionaires know how to drive, Josias." The instructor reminds him."So I'm screwed. I think I'm going to become a homosexual because I can't do this man's thing."<
