Wallace is working in the warehouse, carrying heavy boxes of canned goods, while the rest of his coworkers stand still, chatting and laughing.
Unexpectedly, Raymond approaches him. "Wallace!"
Wallace drops the box to the floor and his colleagues laugh heartlessly at him. "You're weak, huh, Wally?"
Wallace gets annoyed. Who calls him 'Wally' is precisely the woman he loves (or loved, now we have Vera), the daughter whose father is present.
"Roberto showed me where you were." Raymond approaches and helps Wallace lift the box. After Wallace piled it on top of the other boxes, they started talking.
"How can I help you, Mr. Chaves?" Wallace is polite.
"Can you help me understand how a man who claims to love my daughter attacks her here at work, in a busy place, countless people present... and then at home, alone? If I didn't get there in time..."
"You can be sure I wouldn't kill your daughter, Mr. Chaves," Wallace responds in an icy tone.<
Josias narrows his eyes, hardly believing he's going to have to act like a teacher disciplining two rowdy students. He shakes his head and speaks in a scolding tone, "Boys, I never expected this from you."He closes the door and goes on: "Can you explain what's going on here?""I think you better ask the office boy." Octavio's last word was laden with contempt.Josias stares at Adrian: "So, are you going to explain it to me?""Melissa asked me to keep the architect's floor plans. But let's say he wasn't nice to me this morning. So I kept the plans..."Adrian breaks off and bursts out laughing. Josias looks at Octavio, still serious."He kept my floor plans in the bathroom trash! They smell like used toilet paper!" Octavio explodes, hardly believing the other's daring to keep laughing."Adrian, stop laughing!" Josias orders and the office boy got quiet.Josias opens the door and finds that Romualdo hasn't arrived yet. "Before th
Teodoro is afraid that Josias will do something against his plan, so he decides to answer his questions without revealing everything."Well, Josias, it turns out that since Beto is living here and Vera often visits me, they happened to meet. And do you believe my daughter ended up becoming good friends with Pamela?""No, I don't believe it." Josias replies still frowning, "Your daughter must be a good person, incapable of communing with someone as wicked as Pamela."Teodoro gives a good laugh. "My boy, you are wrong about that. Yes, my daughter is a good person. Good enough not to be contaminated by bad company. The two got along well, I was surprised, but I didn't want to interfere.""And what advantage could Vera get out of this friendship?" Josias still doesn't fall into this history."Wallace said the two talked like friends and helped Pamela pass the time instead of always being lonely in the apartment," Teodoro explains.Josias gives a
Josias is at the Driving School in a Chevrolet car, all tense and nervous, trying to park with difficulty on the sidewalk. The driving instructor is sweating and taking notes on the clipboard."You can speak without mercy, instructor." Josias laments with his head down. The instructor gives an encouraging smile. "Don't worry, Josias! Nobody is born knowing how to drive. It takes persistence and practice.""Yeah, but everyone keeps saying I can do everything." Josias unbuckles his seat belt to get out, "And I can't walk a mile without the car's engine dying."The instructor also unbuckles his belt and pulls the clutch that Josias was once again forgetting.Out of the car, Josias continues to whine. "I think I will become a millionaire and have a private driver.""Even millionaires know how to drive, Josias." The instructor reminds him."So I'm screwed. I think I'm going to become a homosexual because I can't do this man's thing."<
In the Freire family home, joy and happiness also reigned at the dinner table. Wallace is sitting at the end of the table, where Harold usually belongs. He was the prodigal son returning home and receiving all the honors."Guys, don't you think you're exaggerating?" Wallace asks smiling."Stop the frills and try this chicken." Isabel places a huge chicken leg on Wallace's dish.Uélton is about to test whether Wallace is already in his right mind or not. "Big bro, Josias allowed me to tell you he's marrying Melissa."Harold and Isabel immediately tense up, fearing that Wallace will react angrily. However, Wallace takes the knife and cuts the chicken leg. "And are we invited?"All are relieved and return to tranquility."We are." Harold replied, "He even came here to let us know. We are awaiting the date and location."Wallace smiles: "Must be in Green Park.""And you, son, how are you at work?" Isabel asked cautiously. Sh
Josias is terribly worried about Romualdo. He has noticed that each time the Silva Construction Company grows; he becomes more strict and authoritarian. Will it be that when Josias is the successful businessman that everyone is prophesying, will he be like that too?"Adrian told you?" Josias dares to ask."Do you really think the bastard was going to tell?" Romualdo asks in scorching irony, "Of course not! Poor Octavio told me, adding that he had to redo the work. The client would pick up this floor plan and his fingers would stink of excrement!"Romualdo clenches his fist and punches the desk, anger latent in his face. He hasn't worked for long years as a foreman and bricklayer, and he's not sweating blood to build the company to have employees who behave like elementary school kids!Josias sits down and tries to calm him down. "Yesterday I already gave a reprimand.""Thank you so much, Josias." Romualdo's face doesn't make it clear to Josias that
Wallace is waiting for a truckload of soybean oil to show up to unload. Beto and Vera appear at that moment and the three greet each other."Hello, Wallace!" Vera smiles, "Taking a break to rest, thank goodness.""No, the truck hasn't arrived yet," Wallace responds, proud to be active and hardworking."Very good, comrade," Beto unexpectedly leaves, "Excuse me, sis."Wallace doesn't understand that Beto has purposely withdrawn to leave them alone: "Why the rush?"Vera laughs at the boy's innocence. "Oh, Wallace, you're awesome."Wallace smiles from the corner of his mouth. If he didn't love Pamela, he'd be able to grab and kiss Vera right now in the warehouse."So, have you guys talked yet?" Vera cuts through Wallace's immoral thoughts. The mere memory of Pamela turned Wallace off. He breaks the smile: "No, why?""Yesterday we met." Vera explains, "And she didn't say anything about you."Vera intentionally mentions
Adrian, outside, dumps the trash in the nearest bin but keeps an eye out for where Melissa is headed. So he hopes to be at a safe distance and follows her.Melissa goes to an upscale diner where Elisa usually invites her for coffee. Stacy appears next, in a blouse and skirt that definitely don't match her body and looks. The blouse is too baggy and the print looks like it's from a sofa cover.Adrian smiles evilly. William must be blind or else Stacy has already given herself sexually for him to accept dating such an ugly girl.Adrian remembers William when he was almost attacked with a hoe. The boy was handsome; surely there would be many girls after him.Elisa appears and Adrian concludes that she is the younger sister of the Bentos. Elisa stands out among the three, wearing a pearly white blazer and a knee-length skirt. Adrian narrows his eyes, still not understanding the mystery of the Bento family. At the cafeteria, the three friends choose a t
The girls leave the cafeteria satisfied with their afternoon coffee."Well girls," Melissa turns to both of them, "Better get back to work.""Melissa," Stacy asks meekly, in a humble tone, "when you marry Josias, would it be possible for me to take your post as secretary?"Melissa smiles and feels sorry for Stacy. Elisa hugs her from her side."Don't worry, Stacy." Elisa sentences, "William will have enough money to support you and your children.""Actually, he already has a—"Stacy is abruptly interrupted by a Chevrolet Driving School car that suddenly appears, trying disastrously to park on the sidewalk. As if it were the Blues Brothers car, it climbs onto the sidewalk and terrifies pedestrians. The girls take five steps back and also scream in terror. Adrian leaves the cafeteria all terrified, thinking that Melissa had been run over."Melissa, are you alright?" Adrian just asks her, forgetting there are Elisa and Stacy
