Romualdo opens the door to Josias's room and finds only Ernesto organizing documents, sitting at his desk.
"Ernesto, where is your boss?"
Ernesto lifts his head and stares at Romualdo, "He called me earlier, said he's coming to the office later."
Romualdo smiles, "It looks like he's going to Seu Teodoro's building. I need to know if everything is ready for it to start rebuilding."
"The demolition is almost over, sir," Ernesto informs him.
"OK, a good day's work for all of us!" Romualdo leaves and closes the door.
Ernesto sighs in relief. If Romualdo knew what Josias is dealing with...

Melissa serves a platter of coffee cups since Flavia was unavailable. Moacyr and Josias are each seated on a sofa.
"Melissa, how is the heir?" Moacyr asks kindly.
"He's sleeping. If you want to take a look at him later..."
"Oh, I'll want to see if it doesn't bother you. After, of course, I deal with your hubby here."
<Beto is totally blind with fury. He approaches Prates with his fist already clenched to punch him to death. However, Prates stands up with his boxer shorts in place and with his revolver in his hand, pointed at Beto.Vera's neighbors hear a shot.***When Dora is approaching Adolfo's house, she hears the noise of something breaking and screams from Mirtes. The neighbors around are embarrassed by the fight.A lady watching Dora decides to express her outrage, "Are you going to their house? Look, I'm seriously considering calling the police to contain these two!"But for Dora, there's no 'these two'. It's entirely Mirtes's fault. She leaves her bags on the floor and frantically knocks on the door, "Adolfo! It's your sister Dora! Open this door!"Dora hears Mirtes's shrill scream, "Don't open it! If you open it, I'll finish killing you!"Dora waits no longer and opens the door herself. Upon entering the house, she is horrif
Pamela is sweeping the living room floor. The radio is playing "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith & Run MC. She sweeps and dances at the same time. The landline rings and Pamela answers, "Hello?"Across the way, in the same hospital, Vera starts crying, "Pamela! It's me, Vera! Don't hang up!""That's exactly what I'm supposed to do, you stupid one!" Pamela growls."No, you need to go to the hospital! Beto was shot, I don't know if he'll survive!"Pamela is wide-eyed and gaping. Her heart races. After a few seconds of shock, she manages to form the words, "What happened? Where was he shot? Is this a joke?""And how was I supposed to make up a joke about something like that with my brother, you insolent? Oh, you know what? I always knew you didn't love him, you still want Josias! I'll enjoy my brother's last moments and you stay there with his daughter!" Vera hangs up the phone."Hello? Hello? Vera, you bastard…!" Pamela slams the
Josias enters his room. Ernesto is ending a phone call."When he's available he returns. See you later." He hangs up and sees Josias, "Oh boss, you're here. The Vitti tile rep wanted to talk to you."Josias smiles slightly. He had threatened to cut off business relations with Vitti Azulejos because they were too expensive with quality that didn't make up for the price. Another tile company was making a special offer. Someone must have informed Vitti Azulejos so that they now want to make a counterproposal."I'll call him." Josias takes a seat in the chair, "Ernesto, I need you to go to the hospital and check on Roberto Reis's health.""What happened to him?""No one knows for sure. He was shot, that's all he's been told.""Guys, how much violence there is in this country."Josias turns his face to the side, trying to hide his laughter. How does Ernesto regret the violence if he was the moneylender's secretary, responsible for his fath
Pamela is furious when she sees that Vera exaggerated when reporting the accident that Beto suffered.Vera, noticing that there are a lot of people watching, decides to take Pamela's arm and pull her into the room. Inside it, Beto is sleeping in the hospital bed with his right hand bandaged.Pamela looks at her brother in distress. "Poor boy… what happened, Vera? I'm still waiting for an answer.""Take it easy, we can't get carried away inside the room."Pamela glares at her feverishly, "You're not going to make up another robbery story right? Why am I feeling like I'm reliving 1983?"Vera sighs, not knowing where to start, "This time, the intercourse happened. I was... in an intimate moment with someone and Beto broke into my apartment. He is always with this mania for protecting me, and thought he should hit my lover."Pamela narrows her eyes, "And the guy who was with you shot him? Are you sleeping with a criminal?"Vera has
Raymond, Cristina, Carmen, and Tiago are outside waiting for more medical information. Apparently, Beto is out of danger. The Chaves family looks at Vera with bad eyes.Vera tries to defend herself, "I don't know why so many people frown on my side."Cristina speaks through gritted teeth, "Don't be a sly girl! Pam told us everything."Raymond adds, "You've already killed your father. Are you not satisfied and want to kill your brother? Do you want to be the heiress?""Heir to what?" Vera rebuts with folded arms, "Silva Constructions took over the building!"Tiago defends himself, "Nothing like that, you crazy girl! Your brother, as the leader of the family, authorized my company to rebuild your father's building. Think about how profitable it will be when it's finished and renovated!"Vera is still suspicious that Tiago will not return the building that belonged to her father.Meanwhile, in the hospital room, Beto is already aw
At the Family Court, Vera is in a room where it will be the first and perhaps the only audience. Her lawyer is from the Public Defender's Office and appears to be the same age as Wallace. The door opens and Wallace and Claudio Soares enter. Wallace has at least managed to shave and is wearing a social outfit Isabel gave him. A policeman enters and stands at the door, he has escorted Wallace here.Wallace shoots Vera a contemptuous gaze, "So, Vera? You who claimed to love me madly, wanted to be with me after everything I've done, couldn't resist sleeping with other guys, huh?"Vera's lawyer motions for her to keep quiet. The judge who will mediate the hearing appears and sits at the head of the table. After initial introductions, he begins, "Well, today we have Mr. Wallace Freire pleading for the annulment of his marriage to Vera Reis. Let's be succinct to save you from embarrassing moments, OK? Mr. Soares, what's the plaintiff's claim?"Claudio is
The next day Isabel is serving breakfast for Harold. He's already in his gardener's uniform."Where is our son?" Isabel asks."Did he stay all night reading the biography and miss the time?" Harold asks between giggles.Uélton appears ready to go to work, wearing his clothes and vest, with the book in his hand instead of his helmet. His face is not happy."Good morning, son!" Isabel greets him, "Is there a problem with the biography?""Mommy, the biography is mentioning us like we're crazy! Well, I don't give a shit what they say about me, but the book is mentioning us all!"Harold and Isabel get shocked."Did Josias approve the publication of these absurdities?" Harold questions.Uélton puts his hand on his chin and then snaps his fingers, "Ha! I don't believe it. Wasn't his stepfather behind this? He didn't like us when we met on the penthouse.""We need to talk to Josias, do something!" Isabel is despera
At the construction site, Uélton was waving the book of Josias's biography in front of the other workers, annoyed and warning them about its contents. Their battery radio played "Alive & Kicking" by Simple Minds."If I know of someone who is making fun of my family, I will complain directly to Josias Rocha, my best friend!" Uélton roars, "He's already taking steps to solve this nonsense!"A bricklayer asks, "But how can this be possible? The book has already come out; it has already been released in every bookstore in the city, perhaps the whole of Espírito Santo!""That's why the 'second edition' exists. We'll have all the copies collected where my family is defamed."Simeon approaches him, "Calm down, Uélton. I think everyone got the message."It turns out that, as it is a biography of Josias Rocha, numerous workers at Silva Constructions bought a copy to read Josias's moving story. All disperse, each to his
