EFFECT OF THE SYSTEM
Allen walked away and made his way to his workplace
For the first time in a long while, Allen felt good about himself.
The very thought of having such an amount of money in his bank account was enough to make him happy for the rest of his life.
To top all of this, he still had a system that enabled him to fight injustice and crime and paid him after that
Within a period of less than thirty-six hours, a lot had happened, and it all felt like a dream to him. It was as though he was in some kind of fairy tale.
A whole lot of thoughts were going on in his mind as he made his way ahead.
“Does everyone have this kind of system that makes them strong and rich?
Or is it only me? Is it that all rich people have this kind of system?
Where do all these systems come from, and how did he choose me?
Why did it even choose me?.
How come I never had this thing before now? Does this system have consequences?” All these questions rummaged through Allen’s mind as he walked on the road.
Although some of the questions had been answered by the system before, Allen was not convinced about them and still needed clearer explanations, but he kept them to himself.
Then again, the reality of the fact that he was no longer going to be able to enjoy his scholarship hit him, and that changed his mood at once.
He was now sure he was never going to get into the university because of the admission acceptance letter he had lost to Jacob.
Although it was a sad moment for him, Allen worried no more.
He had now had enough strength to take revenge anytime he met Jacob and his boys like he had done today.
Again, he was getting money for fighting every day, and he was sure that the money was going to help him a lot.
Maybe he was going to be able to set up his own business and manage it and make sure it was running smoothly, and then he could go to school when he had his own money.
Allen walked for thirty minutes until he got to his workplace, right at the subway station.
His master, Mr. Roland, who preferred being called Roland, was already at work and was setting up the shed for the evening.
He greeted Roland politely.
Roland noticed the bandage on his shoulder and the bag in his hands with the pharmacy's logo on it and did not hesitate to ask.
“Did you get into a fight again?” Roland asked.
Allen nodded in the affirmative.
“You have been getting in trouble lately, what is the problem?” Roland asked him as he paused his work to face him.
“It was a fight with Jacob and his boys again. This time, I was able to fight back. Your training was useful. I won though, just that I got a blow on my shoulder,” Allen replied and feigned a smile.
Roland's eyes widened in disbelief.
“You won?” He asked as if he had not heard what Allen said.
Allen only nodded and set to work.
“What is really going on between you and those boys? You got into a fight just two days ago, and today you met him again. What is really happening?” Roland asked Allen.
Allen breathed in heavily.
“I don't really know. I just continue to feel it for losing my scholarship because of him, and even because of that, Jasmine has left me. I tried calling her yesterday, but it was obvious my number had been blocked.
I have not been myself for these two days.
On my way here, I saw him with three of his boys beating up a young guy.
I don't know what came over me, but I intervened and got into a fight with them.
Jacob himself is injured,” Allen explained.
Roland just listened without saying anything for a while.
“I think it's because of your earlier confrontation with them.
I understand you perfectly.
The sad aspect is that these boys go scot-free with everything they do because they have rich parents and families who help them out when they get into trouble.
You are aware of the condition of this city.
Nobody cares, even the people who are supposed to protect us are working against us. You just have to be careful.
If you keep getting into a fight with Jacob and his men, they might get some more people to come after you, and they are going to make your stay in this city a terrible one. I bet you don't want that, because you can't bear it." Roland advised Allen.
“I understand, but sometimes it's hard.
You know I have been in the same school with them, and I have been bullied by them for the entire time.
They always get away with it, and it's always as if there is no help anywhere.
Something needs to be done about this.
The innocent people of the city are suffering every day because of people like him, and it's not fair.” Allen complained.
“I am sure you know better than that.
You know how the system works.
Even the city mayor has thugs who do such work for him.
This city is more or less like a lion's den.
You have to disguise yourself as a lion and behave like them in order to survive in the lion's den too
The drug peddlers are all working for the mayor.
The vigilante group and all those thugs work for him.
He has turned this place upside down for the benefit of himself and his rich friends and colleagues.
You have to tread with caution every time, especially when you are involved in a serious banter with them, they are not going to stop until they hurt or kill you,” Roland said.
“I know, right? I think I can still use a few of your skills if you keep teaching me. I will follow you home tomorrow for lessons,” Allen said.
Roland only nodded.
“Let's finish up quickly. The customers will start trooping in soon.” Roland said as he continued his work.
Allen nodded and continued.
He realized that Roland was making sense.
However, he believed that with the secret system he now had, nobody could defeat him in a fight anymore, especially if the system directed him for that particular fight.
SPILL THE BEANSAs Allen worked through the night with his master, he was deep in thought. He thought of the fact that the system was going to activate while he was still there. All through the evening, he thought about what he was going to do to keep his own identity and the system’s identity apart. He was very quiet that night, and that did not go unnoticed by his master.Every time Roland asked about it, he would just say he was thinking about his current banter with Jacob and his boys.It was getting dark, and the father and son were getting ready to begin with their sales.Allen worked silently with a lot going on in his mind. The hoot of the evening train was heard from far away heading towards them at top speed.“ Are you ready, Allen?” Roland asked Alen as they got ready.“ Yes, we are set,” Allen replied. The two of them sold three different types of foods, hamburgers, nachos, and hotdogs. These three Foods were very popular in their area and highly patronized by the people wh
USER DECLINEDAlthough he maintained a calm face and a good composure as he worked, he was deep down, very scared and wondering what was going to happen next to him.At this point, he felt very uneasy knowing that something was going to happen yet not knowing what exactly was going to happen to him.Allen said a word of prayer silently within him.SYSTEM: Mission failed, User Declined. Reward aborted. Punishment follows immediately.Allen heard that from the system, and his heart skipped a beat. Now, he was certainly going to be punished. In the midst of all of these people, and in the presence of Roland.Allen paused what he was doing, knowing very well that in a few seconds, something bad was going to happen to him.He gritted his teeth and remained steady for what was going to happen next.SYSTEM PUNISHMENT Allen wondered what punishment he was going to receive from the system this time as he waited for the worst.Within a few seconds, he felt a tingly feeling in his waist, followi
SPILL THE BEANSAfter Allen had finished his meal. He sat down for a few minutes and then stood up again to join Roland in serving the customers.Immediately he took his stand, Roland turned to look at him.“ Are you okay buddy?” Roland asked in a concerned tone.Allen smiled and nodded, signifying that he could work.Roland only nodded, and Allen went on with the work with a smile on his face. As Allen worked through the night with his master, he was deep in thought. He thought of the fact that the system was going to activate white he was there. All through the night, he thought about what he was going to do to keep his own identity and the system’s identity apart. He was very quiet that night, and that did not go unnoticed by his master.Every time Roland asked about it, he would just say he was thinking about his current banter with Jacob and his boys.Allen, after thinking so much without finding any solution, gave up and retired to bed after they were done with work. While they
SPILL THE SECRET OF THE SYSTEM The system had come to help him, and he could not afford to lose it by spilling it the secret. He did not know what his master was going to do when he heard that. However, he was not ready to take the chances by letting somebody else in on the secret. As he walked, he had a flashback to the very first day after being beaten by Jacob and his boys when he had the system activated. The system is activated. Installation in process” the voice said.Allen could not tell who had that voice, but at that point, he needed not to find out.All he needed was help to get out of the place.“ Somebody help me!” Allen shouted with all the energy left in him before he passed out.…………..The flicker of lights flashed through Allen’s eyes. He opened his eyes slowly and closed them back at the flash of the bright lights.Alen opened his eyes again slowly and looked at the ceiling. It was a place he did not recognise. The pain in his body was still there, and he could feel i
FIRST MISSION FOUNDSYSTEM: System Solution Found. Strength For User Activated. Ready For Mission. Communication with User Established. Allen heard the voice in his head once again. He was now beginning to get worried once again, as that was the third time hearing the voice in his head.“ Who are you, and what do you want from me? Where are you” Allen asked in frustration.SYSTEM; I am a revenge system for righteousness. In your head. You can speak to me anytime you want, but you have to follow my instructions. I will give you tasks to do, and if you are able to do them, you will be rewarded largely. The system replied.Allen was surprised and looked around him to see if anyone else heard the voice he heard.Everyone else was minding their own business, and no one seemed to have heard it.Allen realized he was the only one who was hearing that voice, and that meant that the voice was actually in his head.Allen was still in the town, propelling himself in his wheelchair as he spoke to
USER PUNISHMENTSYSTEM: Mission aborted. User Punished. Current balance: $0Current strength: 60%The permanent solution is being found for the user.“ Who are you?. What do you want from me? SOLDIER FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS Allen kept pinning the man down with all of his requests. The victim came with a small rope and helped Allen tie the man’s hand. Allen stood up from the man who was tied down, now leading to his release. As Allen looked around, he saw that people had gathered around and were looking at them with eagerness. “Thank you very much, sir, for helping me. I am very grateful for your help.” The victim thanked Allen. “Please call the police to help you take him away,” Allen said, dropping the knife on the ground. He walked away. As he walked away, Allen realised that something was wrong with him at that moment. He looked around him, wondering what was wrong with him, as he walked to his house. As soon as he entered his house, he realised what was wrong with him. He had confronted all the men with some unknown force and no fear and defeated two men with knives, which was very unlikely of him to stand up for himself or for someone. Above it all, He was walkin
THE WORKPLACE Allen had been through life long enough to understand that people hated progress and freedom and he was going to do anything to protect what he had gotten now. Glancing at the old world clock on his wall, Allen realised that he had over one hour left to get to the workplace, and the journey to the workplace was about thirty minutes. He began tidying up the place before he left. Allen lived in a small, old, wretched house on the outskirts of the city. The house belonged to his parents, and that was where he had grown up with them until his mother was taken to the rehabilitation centre and his father was jailed. Since then, Allen has continued to stay in this house without any hope of moving out or relocating to anywhere else. Living in a house alone, he had no money to maintain the house or do renovations, so the house looked like there was no one there. Almost half of the building had already collapsed and Allen had used old bricks and Woods to patch them up. He
