* CHAPTER FIFTY-FOUR

MOUNT SICA

IASIAS' POV

It is evening. The girl is still sitting opposite me, and we haven't spoken a lot since I offered her a snake on a stick. She's actually working on the edge of her dress —cutting off the ragged edges. She's beautiful. Even though I won't stop trying, I can't stop staring at her.

She raises her head, looking away from her dress to the fire as she tries to toss in the piece of fabric she cut off the edge of her dress, and her eyes meet mine.

I try to look away quickly, but it's too late. She knows I have been staring at her, and I can no longer find where to focus them on as my eyes wander.

“Am I not supposed to throw that into the fire?” She asks, looking apologetic, and I chuckle.

“No, It's fine. Fires are meant for burning things which are no longer needed... by the way,” I say to her and she nods. She moves her attention back to the edge of her dress as she does more trimming.

“Iasias!” I call to her and she turns to me.
