In a wilderness, a small group of people –about twenty– journeyed. Their black cloaks fitted their bodies perfectly, with its hood concealing their faces. Their faces were completely hidden within the darkness of their cloaks. Barefooted -they all walked. They were all males apart from the young teenage girl who seemed to be the one they all looked up to, more than a leader, a guardian.
These people had always lived within the Eastern wilderness. For a long time, since the time of Arak: the cursed traveller.
They took over the shelters left behind by the original villagers who were murdered by Arak and his men. Only one boy survived the raid by Arak's men. He was the one who ran to the ancestors of this tribe and reported to them that the curse of the Callibra had been evoked by Arak. Their ancestors followed him back to the wilderness, trapped Arak and his men, including the one who had already been cursed and burnt them. The boy was the only witness, and he was cursed by their ancestors to live longer than any regular human would, so that he will be able to tell the stories of what he had seen. The young boy, in order to survive, began to write stories about what he saw, and made money of it to provide for himself.★ ★ ★ ★ ★

"Come, join me!" Gastrus shouted to his people as they all walked towards him from behind. "Gastrus, did you find it?" Elena asked, and he turned to her. The young girl was waiting for him to scan the area first, on her command. "No! But I think we have a something," Gastrus said to her, and she walked closer, and others follow her behind in a far distance.Elena walked up to Gastrus, and he grasped her hand and walked her to the edge of the cliff. She followed him to the very edge, one more step forward, and she's down the cliff."What do you see here that makes you think it would be of help to us?" Elena said, and Gastrus’ hand pointed down the cliff -pointing to the prints of the two huge claws on the mud before the edge of the seashore."I see! It seems like it has ended up in one other wrong hand," Elena said and I nod. "So many fools, repeating the same mistakes over and over again," she intoned. For a girl this young, Gastrus thought it a surprising fact for her wisdom to surpass theirs, but she was not just a girl, she was the girl who carried the ancient spirits in her. The carrier of the spirits of their ancestors; the ones who possessed mind magic. The mind magic was a gift from their ancestors, who created the liquid called Callibra to protect the dwellers of the Eastern wilderness from war. The Callibra was meant to unleash two creatures in time of war to protect the villagers, but instead found by a greedy fool called Arak, who cursed himself by drinking it. Unlike the witches of Ivádia, Vocí, Piliá, and Landiá, their ancestors, as well as Elena who bore their spirits, possed the mind magic. A magic that didn't require the speaking of the ancient dialect, and also didn't require gestures or movements of body parts. Only Elena was found worthy by their ancestors to possess the same power as them."It must have stopped by to quench its thirst, we must follow it," Elena said and Gastrus took off his hood, revealing his pale face. "Mistress, how do we trail something that moves so quickly in the air above our heads?" Gastrus asked, and she looked at him -uncovering her head. He had never seen anything as dreadful as her eyes. They've been together for a long time, but he always could not find himself getting used to the sight.Gastrus moved a few steps backwards as his eyes met hers. Her eyes were the most intimidating part of her. They were absolutely dark and void. There was nothing in there to see, but thick black smoke moving in circles inside her eye sockets. She brought down her eyelids to cover her eyes as she knelt at the topmost region of the cliff. She opened her hands and scratches the soil at the top of the cliff with her fingers. She dug out a worm, and she held it in both hands -holding it up to her left ear. It spoke to her, what it had seen during its time there."It is headed for the South, we must find it," Elena said and Gastrus nodded twice. "To the south!" He shouted to the others as he and Elena walked down from the cliff to join them. . ."You were right mistress, the flapping sounds we heard last night must be from the wings of a creature as large as the dragon," Gastrus said to her and she looked at him."Yes! It shows that the Callibras survived the fire, and now some other fool, as foolish and greedy as Arak has it in his possession," she said to Gastrus and he nodded."What happens if we don't find it before the fall?" Gastrus asked,, and she looked at him."Our ancestors will deny us passage through the realm," Elena says.”That was why we were left behind. They knew it wasn't destroyed. They want us to finish what they failed to do. We must pick up from where they stopped, and we are only giving a few days before the fall to accomplish this,” she added. "That is why we have to find it as soon as possible, as the fall is not too far away from now," Elena says as she walked away from Gastrus and followed the others who were already in front. They were determined to reach the southern grasslands before nightfall. After Arak’s eyes fell to the ground, one of his men who ran to him after hearing his screams from the treasure room, was the first to be cursed by the Callibra to turn into the fire-breathing beast of the air. He only beheld the first eye, which had by that time transformed into the green gem. They believed the second eye which was the yellow gem -with the ability to curse its beholder to transform into another dragon species, was destroyed with Arak and his men by their ancestors who trapped and burnt them to ashes, also believing most people were not aware of the yellow Callibra as no one apart from their ancestors had beheld it before setting it on fire. As they just saw a dragon's foot print, and heard the flapping of its wings, they believed that the green Callibra was still alive and it wasn't burnt like their ancestors planned. They were right after all, leaving them behind to seek and destroy it. All these years, they've wondered if their ancestors made a mistake.Last night, the ancestors spoke to Elena, there want them to destroy the Callibra before the fall, for if they didn't, they would be denied passage to the other realm. . .C A S T L E O F I V Á D I A Nika sat on the chair before the mirror as Althea brushed her hair in preparation for the ceremony. "You know, Amaia used to do this for me. She never let me brush my own hair whenever she was around me. She would have been glad to prepare me for this ceremony if she were to be alive now. I really miss, she died last night, but she'll forever live in my heart," Nika said to Althea and she sighed. "Don't worry about your hair sister, I'll make it as beautiful as Amaia used to make it for you. Besides, you are already beautiful. Even without making your hair, you still look like a princess," Amaia said and Nika smiled. "Thank you sister," Nika said. They both turned towards the door at the creaking sound they heard. Someone just opened the door and was about to walk in. "Cayetana! What a pleasant surprise," Nika said as she hurried up from her chair and walked to her. She grabbed her head and made their foreheads touch slightly as a
C A V E S O F E F L I E After Cicero told them to make their own choices and decide on whose side to be, the thought of what he said had never left Atticus’ mind. Iasias, Elvio, and Dalmatius were in Iasias' cave talking and laughing, and Atticus could see them through the entrance of the cave. Others were out looking for some fruits to gather for food, and others were lying and sleeping in their caves. Dominick and Atticus were the only ones outside, sitting below the shades of the huge tree in the midst of the caves to avoid the morning sun. “Does Iasias really have a plan for our people who are still in captivity, or his just a coward who is only trying to save his head?” Atticus thought to himself. Cicero asked them to join him on his way to Vocí if they ever wanted to go with him on a quest to save their people and free them from captivity. He wondered if he should be here or there with Cicero to save their people. Dominick had some special skills to mak
C A S T L E O F I V Á D I A Nika pushed the double wooden door inwards — opening an entrance into the ceremonial hall. Her bare feet left the warmth of the morning sun, which the sands on which she walked barefooted to this place had basked in. She was not allowed to put on foot wear as it was a compulsory part of the ritual. She took a few steps into the hall and her feet told her how cold the floor was. . . Her sisters resumed singing in the ancient dialect in which their spells were written. Everyone of them sang in a cold, slow, and high-pitched voice as she walked slowly—looking directly at the pool filled with vulture blood. Walking down the long straight path which passed through the centre of the hall, parting the people in the hall into two sides. Her sisters, who were standing on the region on the right side of the route — on her right, were dressed in red gown, and the ones on left were dressed in black gowns. She strolled down the entrance, which ran
CAVES OF EFLIE Iasias sat by the tree as he picked stones and cast them towards the cave which was opposite him—frustratingly. Cicero succeeded in convincing Atticus and 12 others to follow him, and now it's just four of them. He stoped throwing stones and he got up. “Now, what do we do?” he asked and all three of them remained quiet with obviously nothing to say as a reply. They were all as confused as he was—not knowing what to do next, or when to do it. “I don't know, I have no clue of what step we should take next” Domminick said and Dalmatius sighed. “We wait to see what happens after what they plan on doing,” Dalmatius said and Iasias nodded. “What ever it is we do next, I don't regret staying back here, and I hope everyone of you have the same mindset with me,” Iasias said as he tucked his hair behind his ear. “If only there's a way to bring down the cloak or get a witch on our side who can,” Elvio said and silence flooded their midst. “I really hope they don't
WILDERNESS OF THE EAST They were all still traveling along the wilderness which they had been living for so many years. Elena was leading them as she was the only one who knew the way out of the wilderness to the grasslands. “Wait!” Elena called to them and they all halt, bringing every movement to a stop all at once. “There’s something coming from behind us, some creature,” she said and they all looked backwards to be sure that whatever she was saying wasn't so close to us. “Mistress, what do you speak of?”Gastrus asked and she looked to him. “Its not close enough yet, my mind can't reach it,” she said back to him and he wondered what she was talking about. “Mistress—” he tried to speak and she shuts him up as she raises the index finger of her left hand. “Let me concentrate,” she intoned and he nodded. She closed her eyes and listened to what she alone was able to listen to. They could not hear what she was talking about and they also could not see it. Now, she was
REALM OF THE SPIRITS It was evening now, Nika had been in this realm since morning —seeking for the dwelling place of her sisters who had passed. She never thought it would be this difficult. “I won't be doing this if mother was still alive,” She mumbled as she kept walking through the bushes. After walking so long without taking a rest, her feet ached, and she felt like her legs could not carry her anymore. She leaned her back against a huge tree which was standing firm behind her and she pant uncontrollably as she found a moment to look at the scratch on her right foot. She saw that she might have stepped on something which injured her foot —slightly below her heel, and caused her to feel great pain. she slid her back on the tree until she sat on the grasses below the tree. she saw the cut was oozing out blood. Her eyes were closed as she covered the cut with her left hand, and whispered, “Brazias esgara!” The blue light which came from her eyes which were still closed found
TOWER OF VOCÍ It was night already, and Tamara was so tired from the several duties she was handling as her mother was gradually teaching her how to manage responsibilities when she passed. She took in a deep breath as she walked in through her door into her room. She lit up the lamp in her room and its light ridded her room of darkness. She sighed as she blew off the light on the touch, and ran her fingers through her hair as she walked down to her bed and sat. The only thought in her mind was how her bed would feel against her back when she finally lay on it. She got up again and pushed opened the window. The cold air of the night brushed against her face as she stared at the moon. "Something is not right," She whispered underneath her breath as her brows knitted. "What could possibly be going on," She whispered to herself again as she swept the air outside the window with her hand. "I should inform mother about this," She said to herself as she shut her window and ran out
TOWER OF IVÁDIA Nika gasped as she jolted up _ raising her upper body from underneath the pool of blood which flowed over her whole body and she breathed in the spirit which hovered over the pool. There was a great change in her whole body as she felt an extra unit of power entering into her body. She was coming out of a blood pool, but there was no stain of blood on her skin, it seemed like she came out of a pool of water rather than a pool of blood. She got up from the pool and stepped out of it, standing completely outside it. Her robe was still on the floor, so she picked it up and slid her hands into its sleeves and tied its ropes around her waist. Her eyes glared blue light which helped her walk her way to the door, as she was close to the door, her eyes changed color. It was now glowing a pale yellow light which broke down the wooden door the moment she looked to it. Her sisters were already assembling outside before the door, as there were all expecting her to come out
