CHAPTER 4 UNLOCK THE PSYCHIC POWER

Mind reading and the ability to predict the future are not skills people generally associate with the human race. Yet, research shows many people genuinely believe in the existence of psychic powers whereby people tend to accept vague, general personality descriptions as uniquely applicable to themselves.

Erin realized the scale of the funfair had his imagination, dreams, and expectations firing in all directions. He scans the environment to see which ones carry the most risk through speed or height.

These were amazing moments from a childhood filled with happiness, joy, excitement, awe, and wonder.

As the mother and son travel around the center of the Ferris wheel, the force of gravity, normal force, and centripetal force all are pushing and pulling against Erin and his mother. As they approach the bottom of the ride, they feel “heavier” because the normal force of their seat has to increase, and the centripetal force is now pulling them up.

Erin thought maybe he should close his eyes and not open them until the ride was done but he refrained. It was not a relaxing experience until they were back on the ground again. But after going through it and surviving, it wasn’t that bad! It was very quiet up there! And the view was nice, they can enjoy the bird's eye view of the beautiful city. As the Ferris wheel descended, the operator brings the ride to a stop and the man shouts everything will be fine and started exiting everyone one carriage at a time. The tranquility and peace of mind ay began to reign in Erin's will but at the back of his mind he seemed to like to go back again and enjoy riding in its high position but it was noon and he heard his stomach growl, he looked hungry and they had to go home so her mother could cook a delicious lunch.

"Come on Erin, next time we'll just come back here to Carnival to ride the Ferris wheel and the other rides." Calm assurance of his mother.

Although Erin wanted to stay in that place, he didn't do anything so he just followed his mother's words but before he left, he looked at the Ferris wheel again and stared at it for a long time before he decided to hold his mother's hand again and they leave the Carnival.

Erin thought as he walked that most of the time, he does let himself have “fun”, vacillating between paranoid thoughts of all the things that could go wrong and pure moments of glee.

Fear is crippling especially when he rode the Ferris wheel. Too far above the ground and too circular to be trusted. He realized that he should not give up on new experiences because of fear. Not everything is as scary as it seems.

The mother and son walked to the exit and when they found a tricycle they immediately rode with a basket full of vegetables and fish, a few minutes later they also reached the suburb where Rebecca's house is located, and they immediately got off. and walked towards the opening, Rebecca took the key to the house but she was shocked when she touched the doorknob of the front door, she felt it was not locked, the creep climbed to the top of her head to think that someone else had entered their house or there may be a thief who wants to steal their equipment.

But what she didn't want to believe that kept pressing through her mind was the suspicion that Ricardo may have followed them to their new home. And this is what Rebecca tries to erase from her mind as she stands with Erin outside the house.

But she did not reveal to Erin that she was surprised by what happened so she calmly entered the house together with her son. When they went to the living room, the equipment looked in order and nothing was missing from the shelves. Rebecca put the basket down on the table when she suddenly heard something rattling in the kitchen so they immediately went to the kitchen when the two of them arrived. Suddenly the unknown fear filled in their chests and they couldn't believe what they saw, Rebecca's whole system was terrified, she couldn't expect that all the people she encounters, still the person she was avoiding and she was trying to escape is the person standing in front of her by that time, there from the kitchen Ricardo was found sitting in the chair and seemed anxious and waiting for their homecoming, seeing them it stood up and spoke.

"How are you, Rebecca? Long time no see, did you miss me?" he mischievously grinned as if sarcastically teasing her and at that moment Rebecca was alarmed because she thought that something bad might happen to her so she immediately blocked-in front of Erin.

"Erin, run! You go to the bedroom." Rebecca immediately command Erin and she hurried to follow him to get away but Ricardo quickly ran in their direction and he grabbed Rebecca's hair, he immediately pulled it and dragged her to the kitchen.

"Son hide, don't get caught by your father!" Rebecca shouted as Ricardo mercilessly dragged her towards the kitchen while Erin went to the bedroom and he walked and sit next to the gearbox, he was huddled to one side terrified and trembling crying.

On the other hand, Ricardo spoke again and shouted angrily at Rebecca.

"Do you think you can escape me together with your son? Do you think it's that easy to leave me? YOU CAN'T ESCAPE, I’LL DO EVERYTHING JUST TO FIND YOU WHEREVER YOU GO." He forcibly pushed Rebecca towards the table where her chest hit the wooden table before she fell to the floor, she winced in pain but Ricardo's cruelty did not end there, he helped Rebecca to get up, he pulled out the hair of his wife again and dragged her to the refrigerator and he pushed her several times in front of the refrigerator, he did not stop until Rebecca fainted and a lot of blood came out of her head, when Ricardo felt that she was not breathing he then let go of her hair until Rebecca was out of balance and she fell to the floor.

Erin stopped crying when he couldn't hear any noise coming from the kitchen, he tried to feel and listen for a few more minutes but there was no noise outside, the silence in the kitchen was deafening so he assumed that probably nothing bad happened, he decided to conclude that his father possibly went out so he hurried out of the room, he went to the kitchen but he stopped from his stand when he noticed on the floor next to the refrigerator his mother covered in blood and she didn't seem to be moving and breathing. Erin looked at his father who seemed to be shocked at the stand, it crossed Erin's mind that his father had brutally killed his mother.

He could not move immediately and his whole body almost stiffened, his hands were cold and shaking in fear and he could not stop crying, just as his father approached his stand when his head suddenly became hot and his vision darkened. A fit of strange anger had formed in his heart and it was slowly exploding from his mind.

"AHHHH!" he shouted so loudly that his voice almost shook the whole household.

He closed his eyes, he concentrated but he was still overwhelmed by intense anger and hatred. He could already hear intermittent thunder in the sky in the distance, after a while he opened his eyes and suddenly thunder and lightning roared, heralding heavy rain outside the house. When Erin opened his eyes suddenly they both twinkled and his eyes were shining which gave off a strange light, light like lightning.

His father Ricardo was stunned and could barely move from his position while facing his son.

Erin stared into his father's eyes and he looked hypnotized at Erin’s eyes.

Erin spoke as if commanding his father.

"You walk out of the house." There is some kind of manipulation to every command of Erin because everything he says is done by his father.

Erin stepped several times towards the outside of the house after which Erin spoke again.

"You head to the highway in the middle of the road."

Erin followed outside the house and the heavy rain had already begun to fall. His father continued to walk towards the highway ignoring the heavy rain when he reached right in the middle of the road there was a fast-moving car and, in a flash, he was suddenly hit and he sprang to one side, blood came out from his head until he closes his eyes and he was dead. While the driver of the vehicle lost control of the brakes until it collided with a large pole in the corner, the excessive force of the impact broke the headlight, and windshield, particularly the front of the vehicle.

After that incident a few suburb residents came out of the households carrying their umbrellas, an ambulance had already come and there was several traffic enforcer who went to Ricardo and the vehicles stopped. Erin remained standing outside their house, the twinkle in his eyes ended and his mind returned to sanity, after a while, a middle-aged woman approached him.

"Nephew, what happened?" the woman was shocked and confused because of  Erin's reaction and also because he was bathing in the rain. The woman’s curiosity intensified when she looked back at the residents gathered on the side of the road where policemen were chatting and inspecting a broken-down vehicle that had hit a large pole.

When Erin saw the woman, he immediately recognized her and he started crying again, he immediately hugged the woman tightly.

"Auntie Eva! Auntie Eva!" Erin sobbed in tears.

A woman named Eva was shocked at what had happened.

Eva is Rebecca’s eldest sister, she lives in the city and works as a private nurse who is currently married and has a pilot son.

After Rebecca married Ricardo, Eva and Rebecca had their own lives, especially when their parents died. Eva was lucky enough to marry a businessman so she chose to live in the city while I had a child with a construction worker who lives in a small alley.

Eva rarely visits Rebecca because she is busy with her business but when she found out about Ricardo's abuse of her sister so she visits to Rebecca became more frequent especially when she moved to the suburbs. Eva helped Rebecca to buy other equipment in her house, she lent money to Rebecca before she could get a part-time job.

But in the incident, it seemed so painful to Eva that Rebecca probably died and her life became miserable at the hands of her merciless masochistic husband who did nothing but to cect women, drink alcohol, and wasted a lot of money in gamble.

At that point Erin was terrified of the strange thing that had happened to him, he felt like he was a monster with the ability to control anyone’s mind to bring them to certain doom and death as he had done to his father. But on the other hand, he also thought that what he did was right to bring justice and avenge the death of his mother as well as Elizabeth and to end his father's cruelty and wickedness.
