Chapter 6 : Night In The Prison

"I know there are only two of us on this floor but I suggest don't make a fuss or they on the other floor will give you a severe punishment. No matter what happens, you have to stay calm," Lieutenant Clarissa reminded as she placed a large mirror on the table.

Winkler took a sip of his saliva, hoping it wasn't a big deal. "Well, I'm ready." Lieutenant Clarissa made sure the young man's face was really willing and turned the mirror quickly.

"This is... Is it really me? Why is this face so unfamiliar in my mind?" Winkler gaped, he could see the shape of his face changed drastically, from the size of his nose, hairstyle, and eyeballs that made him tremble. "It's so red... it's so red, Lieutenant! Please get some eye medicine or my eyes will swell and spread!" The young athlete was excited when he was not used to getting the disease.

"Calm down, ignorant boy! Didn't I tell you to stay calm? After all, your eyeballs are like that before you pass out. It's not a disease."

"Crap! My hair is blonde and my eyes look natural like the sea. This is not my true self."

Lieutenant Clarissa leaned a mirror under the table and then sat down on one of the chairs. "Hey, do you still remember when you kept talking about yourself moving to another world or whatever it was?"

"Of course, why are you asking?"

"To be honest, we never believed in such an incident. But I became one of the witnesses, seeing the young man who suddenly made a complete transformation and used a method that had never been invented before."

"Transformation? Do you suspect what happened to me was a physical change? It makes me even more incredulous of what you're saying."

"Boy, maybe you said you moved to another world. But you have to adapt quickly and you have to believe what I say. My rank here is Lieutenant. I can't possibly say anything false or stupid towards an innocent young man like you."

"I'd rather if you found a way to get me back into my world." Winkler sneered

"If that's what you asked for, then these people in the whole city won't be able to help you. In fact, I'm pretty sure if you go to the capital though, you're just being laughed at by them and there's a chance they're intolerant and lock you underground until you stop talking about another world."

'Uhh. I'm more confused as to why people believe in witchcraft in their lives but are so opposed to another world.' Winkler closed his eyes and tried to understand everything that had happened to him so far.

'Perhaps, Lieutenant Clarissa's words lightened my burden a bit when she didn't have to have to have any hard hopes for the people of this city. Therefore, I had to leave this city immediately and seek help elsewhere. I'm sure the Lieutenant said that to me because he couldn't afford to open up to strangers for the incompetence of the wizards in this city.'

'I have to be smart about taking chances once I can get out of this shackle.' Winkler smiled evilly and was smitten by the woman before him.

"Your face looks perverted. Just like you saw me naked. Do you have any experience?"

"Hey, don't remind me of that incident! I'm still a virgin."

"Never mind. I'm sure you've tried to come to terms with all these happenings. And now, I will determine the punishment for you." Lieutenant Clarissa decided.

"Wait, what? Why should I be punished after you see me tortured?!" Winkler denied.

"You're tormented but I won't give you mercy. Don't forget before you committed suspicious and unsettling stunts for the locals."

"Gosh. In that case, what is my punishment? I can accept any punishment as long as I'm not in jail. My time will be wasted and get nothing."

"You're not the one who decides, boy. Although you don't want to stay in prison, but for tonight you have to sleep there."

"Unwilling and never will. Okay, I admit my mistake for suddenly being in your bathroom suddenly and running away using only a towel. But that's all I did because you kicked me out urgently without letting me wear clothes."

"If you refuse, maybe your punishment is much heavier. I can still accuse you of being a spy from other empires and the punishment for spies in the country is the death penalty."

'Death penalty? Damn it! This woman really made me unable to refuse her orders.' Winkler twitched his forehead and then squeaked.

"How is it? You will meet Captain Lars tomorrow morning here. Since you seem to be confused too, I will cover up your mistakes and negotiate with him not to impose severe punishment."

Winkler breathed a sigh of relief after he had held his breath for more than a minute. "That's good. I really appreciate your decision and thank you for the second time."

"Now, I will take you to your room." Lieutenant Clarissa got up from the chair and helped Winkler up with her body still bound.

"Hey, why not untie this rope? My hands are starting to hurt." Winkler made an offer.

Not wanting to answer, Lieutenant Clarissa led him to an underground room. Winkler's hunch began to not improve when he saw that many of the captives were starting to go crazy because of the darkness down there. Not even a few of them rebelled while hitting cells and ended up being hit by one of the officers on guard.

"I'm sorry, Lieutenant. Leave this person to me. I'm going to put him in a juvenile prison."

"No need. This boy is my guest. Captain Lars hasn't given him punishment yet and I will alienate him in a private room." The officer did not answer, only bowed.

Winkler's gaze continued to be distracted as the voices of the captives continued to rebel and shake mentally. It's the first time to be in a place like this and it should happen when he is in another world. Some of them even tried to grab Lieutenant Clarissa's body to the point of getting a death kick and relying on the heels of shoes towards their noses.

"Rest tonight and pray that the Captain will not impose upon you a very cruel punishment. He was notoriously used to torture captives if it was needed." Lieutenant Clarissa reminded him.

"It all comes back to your words. As long as you believe my talk, then it's much more profitable."
