127. Explosion

I had no idea whatsoever that cleaning up drones meant combing through the piles of drones that were piled high like mountains of garbage abandoned by the janitor.

I picked up the object, which was shaped like any other drone in my world, an infrared dot still lit up in the center that I assumed served as a camera. Without thinking, I immediately separated it into another pile for the experts to clean up. Of course, I'm not an expert in technological matters.

Presumably 50 soldiers were now combing this red-soil field area. I don't know what this area used to be, but it's certain that no human being would want to live around here with natural conditions that are fairly arid and uncomfortable. The T-shirt I was wearing was even soaked in sweat, even though I'm not someone who sweats easily.

The other 25 people were in charge of clearing mines, so in addition to having to separate the piled-up drones, I also had to tiptoe carefully so as not to die silly.
