Invitation

That same evening, Hector rushed toward the royal advisor’s residence. Beads of sweat began to form around his forehead despite the chilly breezing wind. Upon arriving at the front door, the man knocked at it several times as he looked around, seeming paranoid and frantic. He waited for Horat to answer the knock as he muttered something incoherent under his breath.

“Ugh, who could that be?” Horat groaned as he rose up from his seating to look at the person who knocked at the door. As he peeked from the window, Horat could see it was Hector who had come by, panic-stricken. As soon as he unlocked the door, his friend rushed inside and shut the door close before dragging Horat’s hand in panic.

“What’s wrong with you?” he asked, half-whispering.

Hector didn’t answer his friend’s question quickly since he was trembling heavily. He then sat on the couch staring at Horat with a worried look. “We should leave this place soon, Horat.”
