**Kael's Room**

"What was that all about?" Kael asked Freya. She sat on the bed, her tunic beside her, while he perched on the reading table.

"What was what about?" she retorted, causing Kael to scoff.

"Thou wouldst feign ignorance."

"I know, but I am not prepared to speak of it," she replied, and Kael stood.

"Thou knowest what? I should have ignored thee instead of being dragged into thy mess."

"Our mess. Thou art my master, and I thy servant. Thy troubles are mine, and mine are thine," she said, turning to face him.

"Thou usest me to free thyself from whatever clutches ensnare thee. I am sorry if thou art disappointed," he said before leaving the room.

"Disappointed," she mumbled to herself. "I am sorry I cannot reveal anything to thee, Kael, but I expect no disappointment from thee." She sobbed quietly, clutching the bedsheet as Dogo entered the room.

She quickly jumped up and grabbed her tunic.
