At this time in the heart of Durres, a well-known local family was having a company meeting. The family business group specialized in commercial construction and had part ownership with a well-recognized cosmetic sales subsidiary, among their other various family businesses. The Eisen family was discussing future plans and the patriarch was looking over proposals from his sons for future expansion. At this point in the development of the company, relationships with the right people and companies were essential to secure new contracts. Without strong ties to larger families and their business groups, the Eisen family was unlikely to be able to grow any farther and may even stagnate. Mathew Eisen had been able to build the family to its current Hight on his own. his sons, on the other hand, were less than desirable when it came to business prowess. They were more interested in living off the company’s profits and enjoying life. Each vied for power trying to get more funds, without the skill to deserve such promotion. Currently, the Eisen Group needed several strong contracts to stay profitable, both for their primary construction company and in their subsidiaries. Contracts from a group like the Song group, or Dreadnought Investment Group would sustain them for years to come as well as promote their brand to other large companies.
The two brothers always found something to complain about when it came to Roisin, the daughters of their brother Walter. Roisin had finished her business apprenticeship at 23 and was now a shining star within the company. She won several high-profile contracts, proving she was much better at business than any of their own kids. As Roisin approached 25 years old and would be able to compete for family inheritance, her uncles constantly looked for ways to suppress Matthew Eisen’s view of her. One such plan involved marrying her off to anyone who would take her because once she was married she would not be in line to receive inheritance past her company dividends.
The oldest son, Shane Eisen turned to his father and said, “Father, it is time for us to find a suitable match for Roisin. Walter has been missing for these last 8 years, it now falls to us to find Roisin a suitable husband. John and I have a list of suitable men for her to marry. We can conduct final interviews within a few days if you approve.”
Shane Eisen handed his father a list with the names of some of the cities least desirable sons.
Matthew chuckled as he read the list. Several of the names were known to him because their deeds were so famous in town that everyone knew how reprehensible they were. These degenerates mostly had just enough decent family connections to be useful, yet the marriage to such useless men would completely ruin Roisin’s public image.
“Are you so ashamed of your own niece you would toss her away like this?” said Matthew.
Shane was stunned. Had he overstepped, or was the list just too blatant?
Quickly, he said “With her father missing for so many years, while she has made strides in the company, not many eligible men are looking for her as a daughter-in-law.”
Of course, this was a blatant lie, and Matthew knew it. Many men had come forward seeking Roisin’s hand. She was one of the city’s top beauties after all and many wanted her for her looks and were willing to ignore a lack of dowry. But so far, none of the wealthiest families had a son of age that had been able to capture Roisin. There were certainly better options than the ones on the list, even if her marriage would not lift the Eisen family to new heights.
“Well, for now, we need her to maintain certain projects, but I will consider your proposals. Do keep an eye out for a suitable match for her… the time may come soon where offering her hand in marriage might secure us needed contracts…,” said Matthew.
Shane breathed a sigh of relief. His father must agree with his plan, but he would need to be more subtle about it from now on.
On his way back to his office, Shane’s son, Jay Eisen, was wandering the hall, leering at the female secretaries.
“Jay, get over here! Quit harassing the staff.” Snared Shane Eisen.
“Jay, it's time for you to take a more active role in the company. If you are ever going to be able to maintain this business after grandpa is gone, you will need to be able to outshine your cousins. Both Emily and Roisin are strong parts of the company and have won several sizeable contracts each. How about you check on that project Emily has been heading. The construction site on the west side of town.”
“Aw come on dad, you know I am just messing around here,” said Jay plaintively.
Shane glared at his disappointment of a son. “I know, that is the problem. Don’t give your grandfather an excuse to pass you over for inheritance.”
Jay straightened up, realizing his future wealth might be in jeopardy. Without his pocket money, how would he be able to pick up girls for a night out on the town?
“Yes father, what do you need me to do?” said jay in lowered tones.
“Just at least act responsibly. Go drop by for a surprise inspection and make sure the workers know you are in charge. They need to see you as a power to be respected in the company. A male presence will reassure them the company is in good hands,” said Shane.
As jay made his way over to the construction site on the outskirts of town, he thought through how to make the workers remember him. He could be cruel, that was easy enough. Those day laborers might respect a firm hand. He may be young, but he was still a rich second-generation heir of his family. He figured he could win favor by belittling the foremen in front of his men if he was not being strict on-site safety…Jay paused in his line of thinking and decided “eh, let's just check and see how things are going and go from there”. He had never been one for grand plans. Jay rounded the corner in his model S5 sports car. While this was not a super luxury car it still cost over $70,000 of the kingdom gold. Most people in this district were lucky to afford a bicycle, let alone a car. As he approached the gate to the site, he noticed there were not the usual EISEN GROUP logos on the fence that was customary for a family construction site. The company never missed an opportunity to
“Kid, you better check your facts before you go getting hot and bothered. Now I am going back to training. Hope you figure your shit out.” And with that Andrew turned to go back to his training. Jay tried to stop Andrew from turning his back on him “I said I want to see your foremen not talk with you, you ungrateful pissant! If you ever want work again you will do what I say!” “Kid, I don’t work here, I live here, I train here. Now piss off,” said Andrew over his shoulder. Jay Eisen spluttered “You don’t even work here?! What are you some vagrant squatter? You will leave now!” with that threat, Jay tried to pull out a handgun. Unfortunately, Jay was not one skilled in the use of such a tool, and the magazine dropped to the ground. Well, he still had one round, right? Jay pulled the trigger. CLICK. When you try to use a gun, the loudest noise in the world is a CLICK with no bang. Jay’s eyes got big and he scrambled for the magazine, sco
Everyone was open-mouthed. As the officers walked up to the door, one noticed a hole near the top of the door. “What is this?!” the officer said. Andrew looked at the whole and exclaimed, “Hu, I guess it he did manage to hit the building. I will have the charge him with the repair bill.” “What are you talking about, sir?” said the first officer. “What? You didn’t see the gun in his hands? He shot it and clearly missed me, but I originally thought he missed the whole building too. Guess he managed to hit there” said Andrew. “Gun?! He has a gun and shot at you?” “I believe I already said he had a gun and the bullet whole clearly shows what he hit. Hard to classify that as shot 'at' me when he can’t aim to save his own life.” Andrew strolled into the office space and over to the desk where he had the plans for his training site and shuffled through for the contract. After located the needed documents, he handed them to the
Shane Eisen was sitting in his office reviewing a new proposal that had come in to make a bid with the DREADNOUGHT INVESTMENT group for a new building in Durres. If they could secure this contract, it would be a huge boost to the company. Thus far it looked like things might actually work out, and in this, his niece Roisin possibly had some benefits. Her female figure was quite the eye candy for local businessmen and Shane was sure that is why the Dreadnought Investment CEO, Liam, had been willing to sit through several rounds of negotiation with Roisin so far. While a final agreement had not been reached, if Liam was willing to sit through this many pitches, it was a good sign. Many businessmen could not even get a meeting with such a person!Just then, his phone rang with a number he did not recognize.(If you are not reading this on the GoodNovel app or site, you are on a stolen site, and not supporting the real author)“Hello, the is Shane with Eisen G

I have a few hours of free time. Is there anything that needs my attention?”“Well sir if you are free, it would be good for you to meet Mr. Liam. Right now, I have him running the Dreadnought Investment group. There is an office prepared for you there on the top floor, that will run the whole Fire Dragon Corp. I have assigned a vice President for you, who will also act as your secretary and liaison for any business needs. She is extremely capable. Her name is Arya Croft,” said Jackson.“Very good, I will pass there within the hour.” Andrew said as he hung up.Jackson quickly called ahead to Mr. Liam.Liam was packing up his office for the day when he saw his p
Andrew made his way over to the Dreadnought Investment group. He knew from Jackson that this company had been established in its current form just a few years ago. Jackson briefed him from time to time, and he gave input and resources as needed. Thankfully Jackson was a capable person and had been ever since he had been assigned to Andrew’s team in the field all those years ago. When he got out and came back home, he quickly became Andrew’s top force and right hand in many ways. When he stepped up to the receptionist, he asked politely to informed Mr. Liam that Andrew was here to see him. “Mr. Andrew is it? I am afraid I do not have you, or any for that matter, on the schedule… Mr. Liam does not normally take visitors that are not scheduled ahead of time.” “Miss, please inform him, and let him decide. I am confident he will be down shortly.” The secretary frowned but picked up the phone. “Mr. Liam, there is and Mr. Andrew here to see you. He does not
Just as they were concluding, a knock sounded on the office. Liam jumped up, furious someone would interrupt. But when he answered the door, he froze. Arya Croft, Vice-Chair of the whole Fire Dragon Corp stood at the door. While Liam had met her on previous occasions, it was rare to see her now except in passing, being that her office was on the top floor of the same building. “President Liam, Is this Mr. Andrew I have been told about?” “Yes, Ma’am.’ “When you are done with him, please send him my way.” “Well actually, we are finishing now,” said Andrew as he stood from the desk. “Shall we?” And with that, he left the room to follow Arya upstairs. Liam was ready to melt and felt a huge pressure leave with Andrew. Upstairs was an impressive area. The whole floor had a clearly fung shui focus and Raya instantly could sense that it was well done. There was even a large waterfal
Roisin Eisen was one of Durres’s cities great beauties. To her, being told this was next to telling her that a bear craps in the woods. It was a useless bit of information and in no way felt like a compliment these days. Her beauty had never brought her a suitable man nor had it been a huge asset in business. Instead, she was envied by women who felt inferior and thus targeted by all manner of mean schemes. She was practically stalked by men of low IQ and even lower hygiene habits. Her own mother insisted on setting her up on an untold number of blind dates. It was true that she was of a good age to marry, and she would not mind finding someone she could enjoy being with. However, right now, she was successfully climbing the ladders in the family business, and working hard to get her family of two out of the squaller house they lived in. well, perhaps family of three if you considered Emily who practically lived with them now. Both Roisin and Emily were making great strides in
