"Better watch your back, lad!"

Damien pulled the car over at the front of the hospital. It was one of the best hospitals in the country, situated in the state. He was going to push the door open when Jada said,

"I didn't know you were serious about the pregnancy."

Damien whose face was already thrown to the door which he was about to get, turned to her once. He couldn't really say that he was surprised. But for sure, he didn't see that coming.

"Should this be an insult?"

Damien asked with a cold face. Jada whose face was lighting up suddenly had a wave of gloom stalk it.

"Insult? How could that be an insult?"

She made a stance and was willing to support it.

"It's my first child. My own child. And I won't take it seriously? Doesn't that sound like an insult to you?"

She looked away from him when he took a pause. Her face was lifted off the concern. She didn't look like she was confused anymore.

"I didn't mean that. I mean, I'm happy now."
