"What did I tell about eating humans?"

"How would you explain yourself?"

The cop asked Jada who had no idea how to answer the question. She knew that there were quite a number of things which she couldn't say, yet she couldn't afford keeping mute.

"I'll do the talking. Leave her out of it. After all, I'm the manager of the company. And as far as I remember, I didn't recall calling the police."

Elisa took a pause, looking from the head of the police to the toe.

"By the way, how did you make your way in here? I'm a hundred percent certain that I've never seen you in my entire life."

The officer stared at Elisa for a while. Elisa's face was inquisitive. She was doing all she could to put Jada's mind at rest. She could tell from the look in Jada's face that she could pass out anytime from that moment.

The officer looked away from Elisa to Jada.

"Your temporary detention period is over. I'll be taking you to the station."

He announced, as though Elisa's argument meant nothing to him.

"You can't do that, officer."
