A Man On The Sofa

Mr Johnson was dropped off at the police station by his colleague who had to go somewhere else.

"I'll report back on my own then." Mr Johnson said.

"Good. So if the lie is discovered, I won't be known as someone who supported it." Mr Johnson's colleague replied and drove off, letting a gush of wind hit again Johnson who was still standing by the roadside.

"Dick head." Mr Johnson cursed and turned around.

Now facing the police station, he sighed, "Here goes nothing."

Detective Chief Inspector Johnson entered the CID office, his head hung low and his steps heavy.

As he walked towards the Superintendent's office, he could hear the sound of his colleagues talking and laughing.

"Hey, Johnson! How many more years do you need to solve that case?!" one of them mocked and others laughed, not forgetting to also contribute.

"I bet he's going to tell the CID he can't handle the case anymore."
